    View from the upper floors

The view toward the Higashiyama area from the upper floors was great, and we could see the Daimonji bonfire on Mt. Daimonji. However, since the room faced next to the elevator, we could hear the motor noise, and thumping sounds from upstairs echoed. The large public bath was very pleasant.

    No Diamond benefits included.

I stayed with a friend. The diamond benefits at this Hotel were complimentary drinks and a Room upgrade. I understand that the Room upgrade depends on availability at check-in, but I believe the drink service was definitely forgotten. It didn’t bother me much, but since it is stated as a benefit, I think the service should be provided.

I enjoyed a comfortable stay thanks to the complimentary Room upgrade perk.

I stayed for one night on a short trip. Since it was cherry blossom season and Hotel rates were soaring, I really appreciated being able to stay for under JPY 10,000 with a discount, plus the Diamond member benefits. Because I made a Reservation under a single-use Plan, I didn’t know the Room type or grade in advance, but thanks to the complimentary Diamond member upgrade, I was able to stay in a “Twin Premium Room.” The placement of the outlets, electric kettle, and air purifier—along with the bed and TV layout—was excellent, so I could relax quietly without any stress. The Wi-Fi was fast as well, making internet use very comfortable. Everything felt thoughtfully designed. The Room was clean, and you could tell how carefully it had been serviced. Since my Room only had a shower booth, I used the large public bath on the 9th floor. The jet bath from below felt wonderful and melted away my fatigue. I noticed some hallway footsteps at times, but that may be due to my sensitivity to sound—it wasn’t loud enough to be bothersome. Checkout was self-service, so it went extremely smoothly. With convenient access from Kyoto Station and Gojo Subway Station, I would stay again if I have another opportunity. Thank you very much to all the staff.

    Poor front desk service

Reservation: A room plan with a good view of the bonfire. Check-in: It is uncertain if the bonfire will be visible. Result: The view of Higashiyama area was visible. However, what could explain this difference in response?

Please address the discomfort in the bathroom.

I stayed for two nights on a business trip to attend a conference. Overall, it was a bit disappointing. Most of the guests were foreigners, and the manners in the public bath were terrible. The otherwise excellent facility became an unpleasant place for Japanese guests. On the first night, two ladles meant for rinsing were floating in the bathtub or placed in completely different areas. On the second night, two young German men entered the changing area with their shoes on and didn’t rinse themselves before entering the bath, treating it like a swimming pool. I wonder if this is something that can even be addressed—it might not be entirely this accommodation's fault but rather an issue common across tourist destinations in Japan. Another downside was its distance from the station; as mentioned on their website, you can't walk there in 10 minutes—it’s best to use a taxi. As for my room, I was shocked that there wasn’t a working desk. It made it impossible to work on my PC, which is inconvenient for business trips. Breakfast had plenty of options and tasted good—except for the curry. While I'm not picky about food, this hotel’s curry was bitter and simply unappetizing with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. At 2,200 yen per person, they should definitely improve it. One pleasant surprise came on my last morning when I used the shower booth attached to my room for the first time—it was spacious and clean with two types of showers available—a touch of luxury! In hindsight, I wouldn’t have needed to bother going to the public bath at all if I'd known how nice it was!

We were able to stay with children.

Since I was with my child, I chose a room with a larger bed, a public bath to relax after walking around, a room with a view, and within my budget. It is about a kilometer away from the downtown area and the station, and the bus stop is also a bit far, with no supermarket or convenience store nearby. Therefore, it might be suitable for those who have visited Kyoto several times, understand the location, and prioritize cost performance with good walking ability. They sold one-day bus and subway tickets, which I think is convenient for those who plan to do a lot of sightseeing. It's convenient that they can store your luggage, offer breakfast, provide a water and coffee service for a quick break, have a laundry facility, and free WIFI. However, I was disappointed that when I opted for eco-cleaning during a multiple night stay, the bed was left in the same unmade state as when I left. I chose a larger room, but it felt cramped when I placed my luggage on the floor. I think it would be better if there were more towel and hanger racks. The room only had a shower, so I took my child to the public bath, but after a tiring day of sightseeing, handling my child's bath alone was exhausting. Children's amenities were sold separately, but you need to bring your own pajamas. The outside view is not something to expect, but having a public bath in winter is nice. The breakfast venue had chairs and tableware for children, which was helpful.
