    Recognized as a luxury guesthouse.

    Located in Komonmae, the location is excellent. Staying amidst the old streets of Shirakawa and the antique district feels truly luxurious. As many have mentioned, there are steep stairs and no elevator. I only had a light bag, so it was fine for me, but please note that there are no porters to carry suitcases. If you book through the accommodation's website instead of IKYU.com, there might have been a notice about this: pajamas are not provided as standard. They can be rented for 200 yen; this was mentioned online upon later checking but not informed by staff during check-in. I couldn't find the Wi-Fi password initially and discovered it posted at the front desk (it wasn't communicated during check-in). There were long periods when staff were unavailable; I called their contact number at night but received no answer or callback. It’s important to understand that this is more like a "spacious guesthouse with atmosphere." The hairdryer and lotion described on IKYU.com had been replaced with different brands. Both the bath and room are spacious, and if you’re aware of these minor drawbacks beforehand, it’s a good hotel overall.

    Stayed on the second floor lion. The auto-lock of the guest room building was not closed, and I was bothered by the loud voices of the neighbors and the noise of motorcycles and cars outside, but there was a Japanese-style room, the room was spacious, the bed was wide, and the bathroom was clean.

    The room is clean. The bathroom is spacious, and the room is also large, making it comfortable to relax. However, the person living next door is a bit unusual, yelling at tourists and shouting loudly, which is a bit scary. I wouldn't recommend it if it's just two women. There is no elevator, so I wouldn't recommend it for those with a lot of luggage. It's even more tiring if your room is on the 4th or 5th floor. There is a convenience store nearby, so it's convenient and good even if you stay without meals.
