    Kyoto Trip with My Daughter

    About a week ago, I found this place on IKYU. Within the same budget range, this Hotel had by far the most spacious Room, and I chose it because the breakfast-included Plan is rare in that breakfast can be delivered to your Room. After checking in and arriving at my Room, it was indeed generously sized; the toilet was separate, and the bathroom had a washing area. The black-toned interior felt luxurious, and the amenities were well stocked—I really liked it. It’s a bit of a walk from the nearest station, so carrying my suitcase in the extreme heat was tiring, but it was a Hotel that made me want to stay again in Kyoto, which I love.

    As it has only been ...

    As it has only been about two years since the rebrand, it is very clean. The Room is also spacious and comfortable. With convenient access to anywhere and reasonable prices, I would like to stay again. I have stayed at several Hotels in Kyoto, and most offered complimentary bottled water, so I was disappointed that this was not provided here. The complimentary kuromame tea at the front desk was very delicious.

    This place is wonderful.

    Stayed for 2 nights in Kobe and found this accommodation to be incredibly affordable, with spacious rooms and delicious breakfast. The nearby Mikane Shrine was very crowded, and I gave up visiting due to the cold weather. There’s not much around the accommodation—just a ramen shop and a bakery, which is slightly inconvenient, but you can easily take a taxi to Sanjo. It would be great if there were vending machines, laundry facilities, and a restaurant on-site. Apologies for asking for ice multiple times; please consider adding an ice machine. I’d love to stay here again. The dresser is notably spacious—fantastic! The sweet white miso soup at breakfast truly reflects Kyoto's charm.

    The towels were exceptionally good.

    - Second stay at this accommodation. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a separate bath, which is excellent. The bath towel was particularly impressive. Curious about it, I checked the tag and found it to be "O.H.T - Ore ga Horeteta Towel," made by the traditional manufacturer Masaoka Towel. It feels luxurious with a soft texture and seems to be a high-end product (retail price over 7,000 yen). - The area around Sanjo is somewhat quiet. - The front desk staff may seem inexperienced but are not unpleasant in demeanor.

    The air conditioning needs maintenance.

    I frequently use this accommodation, and the Room is spacious. However, as with my previous stay, I noticed an unpleasant smell from the air conditioning that resembled damp laundry. This made it unusable. Due to my tight work schedule, having someone come into the Room for maintenance was not an option (as it happened last time). Changing Rooms was also not feasible due to lack of time and energy. I endured it since turning off the air conditioning left the Room slightly cool. Additionally, there were quite a few hairs near the shampoo in the bathroom from the start. When I filled up the bathtub with water, more hair floated up—clearly not mine based on length and color. It was very unpleasant. The switch to large shared bottles that are easy to open is another downside, and body lotion was no longer provided either. The continuous downgrades are disappointing. It’s burdensome to report such issues during a busy schedule and request action. The issue might be related to air conditioning filters or internal cleaning; without proper maintenance, staying here may become difficult for me in future visits. Please check and address this matter thoroughly. Other aspects of my stay were good, which makes these issues even more unfortunate. This time I stayed in a similar type of Room as before but at 2.5 times higher cost; at least basic cleanliness should be ensured for such pricing levels.

    The room is spacious, and the staff are friendly.

    I occasionally stay here when visiting Kyoto. The Room is spacious, simple, and easy to use. This time, the price was reasonable (next time, the same rank is more than double...). However, there were several concerns regarding cleanliness this time, which was a first for me. As the hotel was fully booked, I couldn't change Rooms. The staff worked hard to clean it for me; however: - There was an odor resembling human waste coming from part of the floor and closet—rising subtly from below—which made me wonder about its previous use. - The desk had an oily residue on it despite not being used. - Black mold had grown in various places in the bathroom grout (despite it being a "dry floor" type), and there was also a slight musty smell. I understand that staff are busy every day and may struggle with attention to detail; however, as this has never happened before during my stays here, I think reviewing cleaning procedures would be beneficial. Additionally—though it's reflective of current trends—the shampoo, conditioner, and body soap have been switched to refillable bottles installed in the bathroom. Personally, I'm uncomfortable with fixed bottles since you can't tell if anything has been tampered with inside them. While I understand concerns about plastic usage issues globally today—it would be nice if guests could choose between options. I hope such issues won't occur next time!

    Comfortable Stay

    The Room is spacious, so much so that the toilet feels far away! :) There are plenty of mirrors, making it convenient for makeup and other uses. The bathroom is standalone, providing a relaxing and comfortable experience. The individually packaged shampoo and amenities were also a nice touch compared to bottle dispensers. The front desk service had a unique vibe, almost like a startup company, which was interesting and enjoyable (different from typical Hotels). I will stay here again!
