  Was it a non-smoking room?

  As soon as I entered the Room, it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I thought I might have accidentally made a Reservation for a smoking Room, but when I checked my Reservation history, it was clearly booked as non-smoking. I wondered if it was just my imagination, so I tried everything I could—opening the window and running the air purifier on MAX. A notice on the wall said this Room has a ceiling-mounted Nanoe generator, so I tried to put up with it since the Facility seemed well equipped. However, the more trouble I had falling asleep, the more noticeable the cigarette smell became—though I eventually managed to sleep. The next day, after enjoying a delicious breakfast and relaxing for a while, the cigarette smell started bothering me again. I have stayed at various Accommodations through IKYU before, but this is the first time this has happened. Some Onsen Accommodations do not separate smoking and non-smoking Rooms, but even then it has never bothered me to this extent. When I looked closely at the Hotel website later, it said that smoking Rooms have Nanoe generators… huh? It left me wondering which type of Room I was assigned to—and whether their policy is to place guests who request non-smoking into smoking Rooms because they have Nanoe generators.
