    A Perfect Stay

I stayed for one night due to my child’s schedule. It was really close to the station, very clean, and both the bath and breakfast were excellent. (I needed to go toward Kyoto University, and I was lucky to find a bus stop very nearby.) Highly recommended.

    A Disappointing Stay

First, when I checked in and entered the Room, it smelled like cigarettes! Even though the Reservation site said “non-smoking,” it was extremely unpleasant. Even if the previous guest smoked in a non-smoking Room, I would expect the Hotel staff who clean the rooms to notice. If you label it “non-smoking,” shouldn’t you take proper measures such as using deodorizing spray and ventilating? This time I wanted to request a room change, but I had no time due to a business meeting and had no choice but to put up with it, so I give the Room the lowest score. Also, when it suddenly started raining, I asked at the front desk to borrow an umbrella and was told, “We don’t have any left.” Breakfast also has poor flow and it takes time to get food. It’s not convenient for business use. I chose this Hotel because the Review scores were good, but overall it was a disappointing stay.

    Everything was very ...

Everything was very clean overall, and the amenities were excellent. At dinner, it seemed that a man at the next table had a mental disability and was rocking his body significantly while eating. I was surprised at first, but since there was enough space between the tables, it didn’t bother me too much and I continued my meal. A Hotel staff member kindly said, “It may be cold here because of the air conditioner airflow—would you like to change seats?” I truly appreciate this thoughtful consideration. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and was very delicious. The only inconvenience was that in the large public bath washing area, the face wash and makeup remover oil were in similar containers (the pump nozzles are different if you look closely), but because it is dimly lit, the small text is hard to read and they are difficult to tell apart. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and I would like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

    Close to the station

I had originally made a Reservation at another Hotel, but decided to stay here to be as close to the station as possible in the heat. It was truly right by the station, reasonably priced, and very clean. There also seems to be a large public bath, but I didn’t use it this time, so I’d like to try it on my next visit. This has become a Hotel I’d like to stay at again when I visit Kyoto.

Conveniently located near the station, and the large public bath was great.

We came by car, and there was parking available. It was close to Kyoto Station and also had a large public bath, which was convenient. However, my husband said he couldn’t relax in the public bath because some overseas guests entered the changing room wearing shoes or slippers and didn’t seem to understand the etiquette.

There is no front desk anymore!

It’s good that check-in is done via a touch panel, but I don’t think there’s any need to eliminate the front desk entirely. Staff were nearby to assist around the check-in machine, but it felt a bit strange and uncomfortable. The Room and other areas were renovated and were clean and comfortable. This was my third stay in three consecutive years, but I’m unsure what to do next time.

I had trouble because the QR code didn’t work and there was no information available.

Because I forgot my phone, I couldn’t contact the front desk from my Room during my stay, and I also couldn’t use the large public bath, which was inconvenient. Bringing a phone is essential. It seems normal these days for instructions to be provided only via QR code. It made me realize I’m out of touch with the times.

    Renovated, but currently under construction

The breakfast venue looks completely transformed compared to before. The selection is more substantial, and it feels like a clear upgrade. In the past, I often chose No Meals Included to take advantage of the convenient location near the station, but from next time I’ll look forward to breakfast. It seems the renovations are still ongoing, though. Because of that, drilling could be heard even before breakfast ended at 10:00, which made things feel a bit rushed. Also, while you appear to be putting more emphasis on Japanese-style options, there was no Japanese tea, and having tonkatsu in the morning was a bit heavy for me. Even so, I’m looking forward to further improvements in service in the future.

    It was very good!

The location was very convenient, just outside the Hachijo Exit, with a convenience store nearby. There was a spacious public bath, which felt great, and I used it every day. When I asked the staff about places I wanted to visit, they kindly and carefully explained everything, and thanks to them I was able to reach my destination safely. Thank you very much. The only disappointing thing was the coin laundry. Even after a cycle had finished, someone left their laundry for a long time without picking it up, so I had to wait in the laundry room for over 30 minutes before I could use it. It was very unpleasant that some guests did not follow proper etiquette. There was a notice posted on the wall, but I don’t think they saw it. I would like you to place a more visible notice (for example, on the washer door). Other than that, the convenience and the staff’s courteous service were excellent, so I would like to stay again.

A Hotel I’d Like to Stay at Again

It had just been newly renovated, and all the Facilities were brand new. My three-day stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The amenities provided on the first floor were very well stocked. All of the Hotel staff were kind and helpful. The only thing I’d like improved is that the bed was a bit firm, but otherwise I was completely satisfied.

There is no telephone in the guest room. There is also no emergency alarm.

I would like to ask IKYU to ensure this is clearly stated in the Hotel description. There are no telephones in any guest Rooms, and there are no emergency alarms either. At around 10 p.m., I urgently needed to ask the front desk a quick question from my smartphone. That was when I realized there was no phone in the Room, which made me feel surprised and uneasy. Since there was no in-room phone, I called the Hotel from an outside line, but it seemed reception hours were over and an AI system handled the call, requiring multiple steps. I only wanted to ask one quick question, but it did not work that way. In the end, I had to change out of my sleepwear, put on shoes, and go to the front desk myself. There I was told that after renovation they removed phones from all guest Rooms, and that there is one phone near the elevators on each floor that can be used to call the front desk. If so, I strongly hope this will be explicitly stated in the Hotel description as information for guests when considering a Reservation. Then only those who understand and accept it should stay. There may be situations where you feel unwell, smell something burning, experience harassment from a neighboring Room, or face an emergency where leaving your Room is unsafe—yet you still need to contact staff immediately. Sometimes you also just want to ask a simple question. If their policy is to reduce labor costs and services and offer only an inexpensive place to stay, that is fine—but what concerns me is that it was not clearly stated in advance that this Facility does not include in-room phones (or emergency alarms). Even a brief notice at check-in would make a difference. In particular, please make sure elderly guests are informed. Even basic regional Business Hotels in Japan usually have at least a phone in each Room; here you cannot even make a small inquiry by phone. IKYU handles higher-ranked Hotels; having different concepts is fine, but if this had been explained under Facility details at the time of Reservation consideration, personally I would not have booked. Please clearly state for future guests that all Rooms have neither telephones nor emergency alarms installed. The location is convenient and affordable so some people may still be satisfied; however foreign guests—and also elderly guests or women—may feel anxious if they do not know this beforehand. Someone could encounter serious difficulty because of it. In fact, at my check-in there was also a very elderly person arriving alone. I rarely post reviews, but I decided to post this time hoping it might help even some people. P.S.: The staff members I saw at the front desk were pleasant; the Room felt new with bright lighting and was comfortable overall—if only this issue above could be improved somehow (good).

    Close to the station...

Close to the station, the Room was clean, and the large public bath was very relaxing. However, part of the property was under construction, which was disappointing. Next year, I’d like to stay again and try one of the newly renovated Rooms.

    Men’s Trip

I stayed for one night with colleagues. After walking a lot while sightseeing in Kyoto, it was great to have a Hotel near the station. We chose this Hotel because it was the only one with a large public bath, and it was excellent. There was also a convenience store right next door, which made it even better. It turned into an amazing trip. This is a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

    Great value for money

This was my first stay, and the location was excellent—close to the station and right next to a convenience store. The Room was small but neat and easy to use. There was also a large public bath, which I really enjoyed.

    Christmas Eve

It was a business stay. While many hotels were quite expensive on Christmas Eve, this accommodation was very reasonably priced and conveniently close to Kyoto Station. Although I was a bit concerned at first, the large public bath with a sauna and the luxurious breakfast made it an excellent value for money.

    Satisfaction

Conveniently located near Kyoto Station with commercial facilities, department stores, and convenience stores nearby. The large public bath was well-equipped with amenities, and there were plenty of Panasonic hair dryers and sinks available, so I could use them without waiting even when it was crowded. The Room was spacious, and the independent sink area was also a nice touch.

    It was enjoyable.

I stayed for three nights, but unfortunately, it rained continuously. The congestion status of the large public bath and restaurant was easy to understand, making my stay comfortable.

    Conveniently located near the station

Conveniently located right in front of Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, with a bus stop nearby. During check-in, the male staff was kind and accommodating, and the female staff handling luggage storage greeted us with a smile, leaving a very positive impression. However, during early morning check-out, there was no one at the front desk. When I asked the available female staff to assist with check-out, her response was curt and unhelpful. There was no farewell or thank you at the end, which left me feeling unpleasant as I departed. While it is in a convenient location, I will book another hotel next month.

    Good.

The price is high for business class, but the location is excellent. The Room is also convenient to use. Cleaning is done thoroughly, and the front desk service is great. Thank you very much!

Ideal for business use due to its convenient location near the station.

The room was a single room with a double bed. While the building and facilities are old, the room was adequate, and the location offers good access to Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, making it suitable for business use. There were many inbound foreign tourists staying, and conversations or noise in the hallways were sometimes noticeable. Room cleaning and bathroom cleanliness were thorough, allowing for a comfortable stay without any issues. The public bath was also hygienic and pleasant.

Convenient and comfortable near the station.

Located very close to Kyoto Station, making it convenient even with luggage. I enjoyed a solo dinner in the Room with Kyoto-style bento and yuba. The cleanliness was impressive, especially the spotless bathroom floor, ensuring a comfortable stay. Great value for the price. Thank you!

    Best value for money

Thank you for your hospitality. The location near the station and the excellent front desk service made both check-in and check-out smooth without any waiting. Mineral water was provided in the Room, and the amenities were well-equipped. I would definitely like to stay here again next time.

    Refresh yourself from summer fatigue.

This was my second stay. Last time, I stayed for one night with a late check-in and was very satisfied with the large public bath, so I decided to return. The front desk staff's attention to the entrance was pleasant. Once again, I was amazed by the number of guest rooms, but the public bath was not crowded, allowing me to relax. There were plenty of hair dryers available, creating a zero-crowd feeling. Despite being close to the station, it was quiet and very comfortable. I wanted to try breakfast as well but had an early departure this time too—hopefully next time! The proximity to the JR ticket gates was very convenient. Looking forward to staying again in summer!

A hotel you'll want to stay at again and again.

This is our second time using this accommodation for a girls' gathering. Very close to Kyoto Station. The food is delicious and extremely satisfying. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options. The large public bath has long operating hours and plenty of private spaces. There are jet baths and saunas available. A wide selection of shampoos and conditioners is provided. Security measures are thorough. During dinner, we were surprised with a birthday dessert for the number of guests staying, which was both surprising and delightful! The staff's service is very polite and attentive. Check-in and check-out procedures are simple and easy to follow. Overall, it’s an excellent hotel! We plan to visit again next year as well! Thank you for your hospitality!

    Had a comfortable stay!

Located very close to the station, the accommodation features a spacious public bath with a sauna, and the room was comfortable. Having a convenience store next door was also very convenient. On the day of departure, they kindly stored our luggage until it was time for our Shinkansen, and the front desk staff were extremely helpful. I will definitely use this accommodation again for my stay in Kyoto. Thank you!

    I will repeat.

Close to Kyoto Station, very convenient. The main building is old, and the desk felt a bit outdated, but the bed and bedside outlets have been renovated, so there were no issues staying here. Amenities are well-stocked, offering excellent value for money. In a time when prices are rising everywhere, this place provides great cost performance. Very helpful. I will stay again. Thank you!

    Best Value Accommodation

Convenient location near the station. Excellent service. The large public bath was clean, and the shampoo bar was fantastic. Additionally, I was impressed to find Sekkisei products in the changing room. Plus, although limited in selection, you can take up to 5 manga books to your room to read. Breakfast had a gentle flavor and was very satisfying. The stand bar attached to the hotel seems highly rated, so I’d like to try it next time. Later, I checked online and found many delicious-looking menu items... Traveling can be tiring, so having chairs would be appreciated! This has become one of my favorite accommodations that I’d love to visit again. Thank you!
