    Great location for sightseeing

    The great appeal is that you can explore Takachiho on foot. Dinner was fully booked and I couldn’t make a Reservation, but I had teppanyaki at the JA-operated restaurant right next to the Hotel. I was able to enjoy Takachiho beef tenderloin at a reasonable price. The bath in the largest Room looked wonderful, but I slipped and fell, bruising my hips and both hands. I don’t think the floor material is suitable. That point is a negative for me.

    A calm and relaxing atmosphere

    Perhaps influenced by its location in Takachiho, both the Facility’s interior and exterior were stylish and created a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Also, thanks to the staff informing us at check-in about the “Amano-Iwato Guided Tour,” we were able to view the sacred cave of Amano-Iwato. If they hadn’t told us, I think we would have simply walked around Amano-Iwato Shrine and left. Thank you very much.

    A stylish, urban Hotel in Takachiho

    Its greatest appeal is its location just a few minutes’ walk from Takachiho Shrine. It was also very convenient for going to see the night kagura, and it was helpful that the Hotel lent us seat cushions. The exterior features a modern design with a black color scheme, and the lobby is chic and contemporary. The spacious room we stayed in with a view bath was simple yet bright and very clean, making for a comfortable stay. Rather than feeling like a traditional Japanese Ryokan typical of this myth-rich area, it felt more like an urban, stylish Hotel. Since there aren’t many places nearby where you can eat dinner at night, we had both dinner and breakfast at the Hotel. The meals were fairly standard, but all of the staff were kind, which made our stay pleasant. Overall, it’s a highly satisfying Hotel; however, perhaps because our room was on the larger side, the Accommodation Fee felt slightly high for Takachiho. Even so, considering the excellent location, I think it’s still well worth considering.

    The staff were kind, and it was a very pleasant, clean Hotel. There were sightseeing spots nearby, making it a very convenient location.

    The Accommodation Fee does not match the Hotel services.

    I stayed one night to visit Takachiho Gorge. Due to a typhoon, I drove a rental car for over three hours from Miyazaki Airport in heavy rain and finally arrived. Even though I came into the front desk area soaked, carrying two suitcases, the Hotel staff ignored me—despite no one being at the front desk. Their attitude irritated me right away. Next, when I tried to check in at the front counter, I was told to use a machine instead, even though there were no other guests at the counter. The Room had thin, cheap-looking bath towels and face towels. The view from the window was of a neighboring house. The bed had poor springs and gave me back pain. Breakfast was tasty, but the restaurant staff’s attitude was bad and it annoyed me. I’m sure they have demand thanks to Takachiho Gorge’s popularity, but this was simply too terrible. If the Accommodation Fee were cheap, I could understand—but paying over 30,000 yen for this level of service is unacceptable.

    The bathroom was disappointing.

    The Room’s bathroom was not a unit bath; it was a separate, spacious bath, which was great, but… It didn’t feel properly cleaned. The rim of the bathtub felt rough, and I also saw black mold on the floor. The Room itself was clean, so I’m truly disappointed about the bathroom. The Takachiho beef shabu-shabu at dinner was very delicious. Highly recommended.

    I stayed here while sightseeing in Takachiho.

    I stayed for one night while sightseeing in Takachiho. The property is conveniently located between the Takachiho Bus Terminal and Takachiho Shrine. It was very helpful that they lent me a cushion to take to the night kagura performance. Since the night kagura at Takachiho Shrine is watched on tatami mats, this was much appreciated. The Room was spacious and clean.

    Excellent.

    The entrance is narrow, but once inside, a cozy space unfolds. Check-in is self-service, giving it a Business Hotel feel, but the room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. I can't speak for the upper floors, but the first floor seemed to be designed quite spaciously on the layout. Given the relatively high accommodation cost, this might be expected. The living room lighting is dim; adjustable lighting would improve it. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the reservation for dinner. However, being in town meant there were delicious restaurants nearby to save the day.

    Base of the Mythical Village

    Close to Takachiho Shrine, it's an ideal accommodation for enjoying Kagura performances. Cushions are available for rent during the performance, which was very helpful as the seating is on tatami mats. Additionally, we visited Takachiho Gorge and Amano Iwato Shrine by car, and this accommodation serves as a perfect base for traveling by car. It's an excellent choice for those looking to explore actively. However, please note that there is no large public bath due to its nature as a convenient base for sightseeing in Takachiho.

    The bath rating was ...

    The bath rating was set to 4 as there was no Onsen, but the Room had a proper bathtub where I could relax and unwind. Additionally, the staff's hospitality was excellent; everyone was very polite, making my stay pleasant. Thank you very much. The location is perfect, with Takachiho Gorge within walking distance. The Room was also clean and I am extremely satisfied.

    Conveniently located.

    The parking lot is spacious and conveniently located. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were kind and helpful. Highly recommended for sightseeing in Takachiho.

    First Visit to Takachiho

    The hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Takachiho Shrine. The exterior is very stylish, and the interior is lovely as well. I only reserved breakfast this time, but the breakfast buffet had a limited selection of dishes and no fruits, which was disappointing. There are no convenience stores around the hotel, and for dinner, the hotel staff recommended a nearby izakaya. However, they advised making a reservation in advance to ensure availability. Since there are few dining options near the hotel for dinner, it’s better to plan ahead.

    It was our first tri...

    It was our first trip to Takachiho, and I stayed with my son. The Hotel was clean, the meals were delicious, and we felt the warmth of the staff. We were very grateful that they held our luggage after check-out. It was a Hotel that made us want to stay again. Thank you for taking care of us.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    When I expressed my interest in attending the night Kagura performance at check-in, the gentleman at the front desk kindly explained the availability of same-day tickets and the rental of cushions. I forgot to ask for his name, but thank you for your professional assistance. Also, the amenities provided were of very high quality.

    The phone is not connecting.

    When you call, a message says "It's busy, please call back later." It was not connected at all, not only during check-in and check-out times. I thought the front desk would be very crowded with inbound guests, but there was an automatic check-in machine, and the guests were sparse, so the front desk was not crowded. However, the phone was not connected. Other than that, it's an ordinary city hotel. The bus was spacious, perhaps considering inbound guests. Breakfast was almost full around 7:30, so be careful. For those going to the night kagura, they lend you a cushion. There is no need to bring your own.

    I felt it was a bit expensive for the Facility. The entire Facility felt clean, perhaps because it's a new Hotel. It felt like an ordinary Business Hotel. Since it's an automated check-in and check-out, there was no customer service. I was just told to check in over there.

    The Room was clean and having two sinks was a delight. The mini photo session at checkout was also enjoyable, and I was impressed by the staff's photography skills.
