Great value for money
Reasonably priced and conveniently located, I’ve stayed here many times. The breakfast area has been split into two venues, and when I went to the Japanese-style venue at 7:20 on Saturday there was a line, so I switched to the Western-style option. The Western-style venue was charming with nicely presented dishes; the fish was served as carpaccio, there was a wide variety of breads, and the made-to-order omelet and Onuma beef steak were delicious. The Onsen was as pleasant as ever, and I felt very relaxed. The Room previously had an unbearable musty smell from mold in the air conditioner, but this time it wasn’t that bad. However, when I looked into the air conditioner unit there was dust inside, so please clean it if possible. Also, I noticed stains on the duvet cover.

I was able to relax and recharge.
I stayed for five nights and was able to relax in the Onsen. I love the atmosphere of Hakodate and visit a few times a year. I used to regularly stay at S or R near the warehouse district, but after trying this Hotel, I found it very reasonably priced and the breakfast (both Japanese and Western) was excellent. The staff were also very kind, which made me feel at ease. The large public bath has free-flowing natural hot spring water, and there is also a sauna—no wonder it’s becoming so popular. I will be staying again from October 4th to 8th.

Wi‑Fi is unreliable.
1) The Wi‑Fi does not stay connected. It connects for 1–2 minutes and then disconnects. Early in the morning, it may work if you’re lucky. 2) Check-in takes about an hour. 3) There is no pre-checkout system, so you need to leave your Room early to allow time for checkout, which can take as long as check-in. Since this is not an expensive Hotel, if you don’t mind the unstable Wi‑Fi, there’s no major issue—the Onsen is great, and the Room was properly cleaned.

It was very good.
We stayed for three nights on a family trip. The kitchen, washing machine, and the in-room bathroom—with a separate washing area and bathtub—were perfect for our family with small children. The Onsen in the large public bath felt a bit dated, but it was relaxing and very comfortable. However, I would like to see something done about the check-in congestion. Given the property’s capacity, there may not be enough reception terminals. Arriving tired and having to wait 15–20 minutes was tough. That was the only disappointing point.

Kitchenette
I checked in late at night and checked out early in the morning for a ferry, so I looked for a Hotel as close to the ferry terminal as possible. I didn’t use the large public bath, but the air conditioning can be set individually in each Room, and the Room was spacious and comfortable. There are noticeable scuff marks on the walls from furniture, but they didn’t affect my stay at all. With a kitchen included, it may be a good choice for travelers who want to bring their own food and sightsee while living like a local.

Thank you very much.
Although it is a little far from the station, it offers excellent value for money. I really appreciated having a washing machine in the Room. The downside was that perhaps the previous guest cooked in the Room, as a fishy smell did not go away for two days. Check-in and check-out were smooth, which was great.

A fully serviced Hotel, yet reasonably priced
Wanting to enjoy the cool weather in Hokkaido while keeping costs down, we looked for a place where we could cook for ourselves. On IKYU, we found Hotel Global View Hakodate, which offers reasonable rates even for a 9-night stay. It’s about a 13-minute walk from Hakodate Station and about 7 minutes from the Matsukazecho streetcar stop, and there is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel with service to Hakodate Airport. Omori Beach is nearby and very scenic. There are plenty of shops as well—Shimamura, Tsuruha Drug, Seicomart, and Daiso—and MaxValu near the station, plus many restaurants. We stayed in a Superior Twin B Room. It was spacious and came with a kitchen (large refrigerator, microwave, cookware, etc.) and a washing machine. The bathroom and toilet were separate, and there was also a large table and sofa. Guests can also use the spacious natural Onsen public bath. We made our Reservation without breakfast at first, but because the breakfast Review ratings were so high, we ordered it once. There was a wide variety of sashimi; the tempura was freshly fried; dishes like crab rice were generously filled with crab; and there were many other items as well. We felt it was well worth it. All staff members were kind and greeted us cheerfully—it made our stay very pleasant. We would love to stay again next summer. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I was looking forward to it, but…
What I liked Breakfast A petite female staff member guiding guests near the front desk (She paid close attention to guests and guided them efficiently, which was great.) The Room and bath were just as I expected, which was nice. What I didn’t like The Plan said Rooms would be on floors 2 to 7, so I emailed to request a higher floor if possible. I received a reply saying they couldn’t guarantee it but would note my request, yet I was actually placed on the 2nd floor. I booked early and it wasn’t crowded, so I couldn’t help thinking “why…”. Having worked at a Hotel before, I understand room assignments can be difficult, but it didn’t seem like there were many group bookings either… It was very disappointing.

Hakodate Trip
The Room was very spacious and clean. We had a great view of the ocean from the balcony. The large public bath is also available all night, which is convenient. All the staff were very pleasant, and it was an excellent Hotel for the price. We were very satisfied!

Thank you for your support.
Amazing value for money. The Facility was clean and the breakfast was delicious—at this price. Thank you very much.

It was great.
This was my first stay. Since I was able to book at a very low rate, I assumed it would be a Business Hotel, but they offered tuna tastings at check-in, and the breakfast had a live kitchen with a wide variety of dishes—very satisfying. However, one concern was that although we made a Reservation for six people (two Rooms for three guests each), the Rooms were not next to each other but far apart, which was inconvenient when moving around together.

Worth the price to stay.
Overall, the customer service was excellent throughout our stay. The hot spring was great as well, and guests should remember to remove their shoes before entering the locker area, as the small step between the hallway and the locker area is not very noticeable. For stays longer than three days—especially for North American travelers—we recommend choosing a larger room with an in-room washing machine and cooktop (such as the Superior Twin Room). The hotel is a bit far from the JR station, but since we were on vacation, we didn’t mind walking—especially after meals.

Excellent value for money. Thank you very much.
The king-size bed was very comfortable, and I was surprised at how spacious the Room was. The Onsen was also large. Breakfast is offered in Japanese and Western styles; I had reserved the Japanese set, but it was crowded so they changed it to Western for me. The Western breakfast was delicious too—I was very satisfied. The bus stop for Hakodate Airport is right outside the Hotel. The tram station is also nearby, which was very convenient, and the value for money was excellent. The welcome service and the staff were both wonderful. Amenities included a toothbrush; there wasn’t a plastic comb, but I always use my own anyway, and disposable plastic items feel wasteful—so having no unnecessary extras actually felt better. I will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

The key card was inconvenient.
I was satisfied with the Room size and the large public bath. However, the Room door was not auto-locking, so having to lock it with the key card each time was inconvenient. It seems to be a very popular Hotel, and I waited in line for about 15 minutes at check-in. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The parking area near the Hotel entrance was full, and it was difficult to find an available space in one of the several lots a short distance away.

An excellent Hotel that offers great value for the price!
I’ve been to Hakodate several times, but this was my first stay here. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the streetcar stop is nearby, which actually makes it very convenient for sightseeing. The Room was spacious and spotless (thank you for the upgrade), the Onsen was excellent, breakfast and the welcome coffee were delicious—and above all, the staff’s greetings and service were outstanding. At this price I honestly didn’t expect much (sorry!), but everything exceeded my expectations in the best way. Amazing value for money. I’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast Plan with Higher Satisfaction Than the Hakodate Morning Market
I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of 4 nights. I was very satisfied with the breakfast-included Plan. At check-in, you tell them your preferred time and receive a paper ticket. Right after entering, there is a sashimi corner where vinegared rice is also provided, so you can make your own small seafood bowl. (If you make a large one, you’ll be too full to enjoy anything else.) There are also freshly fried tempura served with delicious salt, daily hot dishes, daily curry, a salad bar, and more. Even with multiple nights, there are so many items that it’s hard to try everything. One difference from my previous stay was that they had soft-serve ice cream from Misuzu Coffee, a long-established coffee shop in Hakodate. Unfortunately for designated drivers, alcohol is also available. If you arrive by tour bus, you can enjoy local sake and wine from the morning. As part of eco-friendly efforts, amenities other than toothbrushes and towels were no longer provided. The brushes and sanitizing equipment in the large public bath have also been removed. I would be happier if the hair dryers were upgraded to higher-end ionic models.

Excellent value for money
We had a comfortable stay in a spacious Room. The Onsen had excellent water quality, and it was great value for the price. The only disappointment was that there were only two elevators, which made it inconvenient when going to the bath, breakfast, or checking out. I had no issues with the first breakfast slot at 6:30 a.m., but it was hard to see long lines and frustrated guests waiting for later slots, so please consider improvements. I also feel the restaurant is too small for the Accommodation’s capacity. Thank you.

A ruined trip
Even though we had a Multiple Night Stay, housekeeping was not provided. In the end, our child lost the key card and we were charged a compensation fee of 11,000 yen.

The Semi-Suite is spacious and highly recommended.
I wanted to make a Reservation for a suite, but while I was deciding on the dates, it sold out. It was a bit disappointing, but I booked a semi-suite instead. Compared with a standard twin Room, it was much more spacious, so I had a comfortable stay. The Onsen water was also excellent. Thank you for your hospitality.

Stayed in a different room than the one reserved. It seems there was a mistake. Quite careless.

Good Points and Bad Points
Repeat stay. Every time, the washroom and floor in the large public bath changing area are covered with an unusual amount of hair. The benches in the changing area are also full of hair, making it impossible to sit. Many bath towels and face towels are left behind. On both the first and second days, abandoned towels remained as they were, and the changing area was still dirty with hair everywhere. Although a mop is provided, it is also full of hair. Since this happens every time, more thorough inspections and cleaning would be appreciated. In the Main Tower, only one card key for the bath is provided per room. If two people stay together, they must go to the bath at the same time as it’s not possible to enter separately—this is very inconvenient. During New Year’s holidays, there was a stamp rally event; however, only one snack (a single Umaibo) was given per family as a prize. This can cause arguments among siblings when traveling with children. A discount coupon usable at the shop—even if just worth a few yen—might be better. The older staff member guiding seats at breakfast always has a stern expression and speaks in an unfriendly tone every time we visit. Other reviews have mentioned similar experiences; it seems many guests feel this way too. Plates that still had some food on them were cleared without asking if we were finished or saying anything like “May I clear your plate?” A simple word would be appreciated here. Breakfast itself is delicious: tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, squid sashimi, scallops, shrimp roe (tobiko), French toast with honey straight from honeycomb—all excellent options! Everything served for breakfast tastes great. Stayed in Main Tower: There’s no place to hang wet towels after use. Since additional towel exchanges incur extra charges here (for both regular towels and bath towels), providing something like towel racks or bars in bathrooms would help greatly. No hand towel available by sink nor any glasses provided—these should be included too! Stayed during January: Even setting air conditioning on its lowest level makes small rooms heat up quickly; had to open windows multiple times myself for temperature adjustment—not convenient! **Amenities** In Main Tower accommodations: - Only toothbrushes are provided in rooms. - Other items must be purchased: - Men’s amenity set: 300 yen (tax included) Includes body towel / cotton & swabs / hairbrush / gel & lotion / razor / pouch - Women’s amenity set: 300 yen (tax included) Includes body towel / cotton & swabs / hairbrush / facial care set (4 items) / face pack / pouch

Breakfast can be crowded.
Breakfast tickets divided by time slots were provided at check-in, and although I went to the breakfast venue at the designated time, it was crowded, and I had to wait a bit. Other than that, everything was excellent. The Room had a refrigerator with a freezer, which was convenient for storing ice cream until eating.

You can relax and unwind.
Although it is a bit far from the station, there is an Onsen, and the price is relatively affordable for the area. The tempura served at breakfast is incredibly delicious, so be sure to try it! Amenities are minimal, and cleaning is done about once every three days. If you prefer fully equipped accommodations, this may not be suitable for you. Additionally, in the premium tower of the separate building, some floors in the rooms feel uneven and bumpy, which might cause dizziness for some guests. On a personal note, I have stayed here about five times but have never been able to stay in a room on the Tsugaru Strait side. Although I always mention my preference in the remarks section when making a reservation and understand that it's based on availability or luck, only one staff member has ever acknowledged this during check-in. It gives me an impression that not all staff members check such requests...

Slippers
Foreign guests have repeatedly come to the bath in slippers and even entered the changing room wearing them. I tried to explain that it is not allowed, but they did not understand Japanese, so it was difficult. Isn't it also an issue that guests can go from their Room to the basement via the elevator? Please consider improving this.

Highly satisfied.
The hospitality, meals, and facility were more satisfying than anywhere I’ve stayed before! I forgot something and called after returning home to check. They sent it to me, and it arrived the next day—I’m truly grateful. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Hakodate!
