    We had a very comfortable stay.

    I stayed here twice shortly after it opened, and this time I returned for the first time in seven years. Back then, I felt the service didn’t quite suit us, but this time all the front desk staff were friendly. Perhaps because it was early in the morning, the large public bath was also very well cleaned, and I had a comfortable stay. The Room is not large by any means, but considering this location in Gion and the level of service for this price, I was very satisfied. If possible, I would appreciate having bath towels available in the bath area or an extra set of towels placed in the Room. Reusing a wet towel multiple times isn’t pleasant. Also, I would like a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the Room. Even if housekeeping is not expected to enter, mistakes can happen. For security reasons as well, I strongly hope you will consider this. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you in advance.

    Perfect.

    This stay was again timed to coincide with a performance at Minamiza. The Hotel is on Yamato-Oji, just a 2–3 minute walk from Minamiza, and its understated exterior is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. Given the Gion location, there may be restrictions on tall buildings, and the Hotel makes good use of underground space. This time as well, we stayed in a double Room on basement level B1. The front lobby, guest Rooms, and the entire Hotel are very quiet and relaxing. The lobby interior emphasizes a “Kyoto-like” feel that inbound travelers would probably enjoy. In fact, during this stay about 80% of guests seemed to be from Europe or North America. The Room has only a shower booth, but there is a spacious Onsen on the same B1 level, so it’s more than sufficient. Breakfast is also satisfying with its buffet style and wide variety of menu items. With Kyoto’s atmosphere and the convenience of Gion-Shijo Station, at this price it’s hard to complain.

    A trip to see the scenery you’ve been longing for and visit the people who have supported you.

    I stayed here with my mother on a trip to Kyoto. I was told by a staff member who had previously helped us at another Accommodation in the same group—and who had since transferred here—so I decided that this would be the place to stay whenever we visited Kyoto. Most of the guests were international tourists, and perhaps because of that, the large public bath was almost like having it to ourselves. It’s rare to find a Hotel with a large public bath, but it was very spacious and spotless, and I found the calm, meditative atmosphere truly relaxing. The Room was also clean, stylish, and very comfortable. We ate dinner out so I can’t comment on that, but breakfast was buffet-style with both Japanese and Western options, which was great. I considered having natto as well, but since most other guests were from overseas, I held back just in case anyone might be bothered by it (lol). We didn’t stay in for long because we wanted more time for sightseeing, but checkout is relatively late as well, which made it very convenient. I’d definitely like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto!
