    Stayed at Yoiyama!

    From 6 PM during Yoiyama, the area in front of the Hotel becomes a pedestrian paradise! However, rooms on the 6th floor facing Karasuma Street remain quiet. An international Hotel overlooking Nijo Castle's main gate, Hotel Fujita with views of Higashiyama over a stream and waterfall where herons reside, Park Hotel featuring Emperor Go-Shirakawa's beautiful garden, and Miyako Hotel's old building facing Kurotani-san—these once affordable Hotels have now transformed into luxury international Hotels or Mitsui’s flagship Hotels. Despite this transformation, it remains an excellent choice for both location and price. A comfortable Hotel that carries on the tradition of Kyoto Hotels.

    I had a comfortable stay.

    The front desk staff's polite and flawless service was delightful. The bedding was very comfortable, allowing for a restful sleep. It was my first stay, but I would love to visit again.

    The entrance may be hard to find.

    The Hotel name is listed above, making the Starbucks stand out more and the important Hotel name hard to notice. I passed by several times without realizing it.

    A bit disappointing

    I have stayed here before, but this time I was a bit frustrated with the staff's inefficiency. It seemed like the staff member was inexperienced, as they couldn't make eye contact during conversations and kept looking at the PC screen. They also appeared unfamiliar with the hotel's services, struggling to answer each question properly. Other nearby staff members who noticed this did not step in to assist, which added to my frustration.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I had a relaxing stay. I thought it would be better if the TV was slightly larger. The model seemed outdated, and the placement direction was also a concern. If it were a flat-screen, it could be adjusted to face the bed, making it easier to watch while lying down. I also noticed some dustiness in the room. If I have another opportunity, I would like to stay again and choose a slightly larger room next time. Thank you very much for the courteous service from the reception staff.

    Great value with breakfast included

    I reserved a smoking room on the 9th floor and had a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was priced at 2,400 yen, and including breakfast at the time of reservation is highly recommended for great value.

    Clean and comfortable.

    This is my second stay here as it is close to my friend's bar. The room's size and cleanliness are excellent. I always book a twin room, which has a sofa for relaxing. The key needs to be left at the front desk, but the staff's service is polite and pleasant. I even leave it when going out briefly to buy coffee (laugh). I’m happy with the delicious Japanese tea bags provided in the room. The two separate trash bins make sorting items like plastic bottles very convenient, which I appreciate. The accommodation is easy to find and close to the station, so I plan on staying here again. Thank you in advance! If I may add one wish—it would be great if the slippers were a bit thicker (laugh).

    Located in a great spot away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto Station.

    From Itami Airport to Kyoto, instead of taking JR or the airport bus, I transferred from the monorail to the Hankyu Railway and arrived in Kyoto at "Karasuma Station" on the Hankyu line. This time, I stayed at a famous hotel located about a 5-minute walk from Karasuma Station. It was great service to be able to leave my luggage immediately before check-in and enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto. Later, experiencing the overwhelming crowds at Kyoto Station made me realize that choosing accommodation near Shijo was definitely the right decision. However, during check-in, when I gave my name, they said "We have you down for two people in a smoking room," which was opposite of my non-smoking reservation for one person. My name is often misheard, so mistakes happen frequently. Still, it would be appreciated if this could be confirmed by repeating back at reception. The facility is old but maintained beautifully enough that it didn’t bother me. It had been a while since I handed over my key to reception when going out. Breakfast was spaciously arranged with an impressive variety of buffet options—it took some time just deciding what to eat! The selection of steamed vegetables was particularly satisfying. Check-out went smoothly without any issues. Considering its location and offerings, I would love to use this hotel again if given another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    I recently stayed here during my business trip to Kyoto. Although I was scheduled to check in at night, I arrived at the Hotel before 3 PM and asked if they could store my luggage. They informed me that my room was ready and allowed me to check in early, which was very helpful as I had a lot of luggage. Even though my floor was shared with students on a school trip, it was quieter than expected, and I had a comfortable stay. I would love to stay here again.

    Front Desk Service: Thank you for providing a full-length mirror.

    Located near the west exit of Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, take Elevator No. 4 to go up, and it’s the third building on your right after exiting. The lobby is compact but offers attentive front desk service. When I arrived early and waited for check-in, they kindly allowed me to enter my Room earlier than expected and even provided a full-length mirror, which I greatly appreciated. However, there was no closet long enough to hang a kimono; I had to get creative by hanging it on the built-in mirror. The air conditioning worked well, which was helpful for dressing in traditional attire. If possible, replacing teacups with mugs would be more convenient—if only one type is provided, mugs would be preferable. The bed was spacious, the location excellent, and when I requested a taxi at the lobby, they arranged for one to pick me up right at the entrance. They truly value their guests and made my stay very comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The hospitality was ...

    The hospitality was excellent. During breakfast, when I placed my post-meal medication on the table, I was promptly asked, "Shall I bring you some warm water?" which made me very happy. Additionally, the luggage storage service between the Hotel and Kyoto Station is incredibly helpful in these times of overtourism. However, one downside was the extremely cramped unit bath. While I understand it might be due to design constraints, it still felt a bit unfortunate.

    I chose a Hotel wher...

    I chose a Hotel where I could use the lounge at Kyoto Station. After arrival, I organized my luggage, had it stored and delivered to the Hotel, and went sightseeing right away. On the way back, my luggage was transported from the Hotel to the lounge, allowing me to organize souvenirs before boarding the Shinkansen. Such convenience is truly appreciated. Additionally, there was a Starbucks next to the Hotel that I used daily. The Hotel had a casual atmosphere and was very pleasant. I would definitely like to stay here again next time!

    Sound can be heard.

    The Room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable, which was very nice. The bathroom had a deep bathtub and was a unit with the toilet. However, it was unfortunate that I woke up in the morning due to water sounds from someone using the toilet or shower in a neighboring or upper Room. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    Concerns: - Informed the staff that my companion would arrive later by private car, but the accommodation tax and parking fee had to be paid in advance at check-in (even though the car hadn't been parked yet). - I had to ask whether my companion needed to check in upon arrival or could go directly to the room. - I also had to inquire about only receiving one room key. - Visibility when exiting onto the road from the hotel is poor due to parked cars; a mirror installation would help if staff assistance is unavailable. Positive points: - Parking space available at this location. - Starbucks is attached.

    Thank you every time!

    Originally, Okura was my regular accommodation, but I transitioned to budget hotels. During that time, I tried various chain hotels. As a result, this has become my absolute favorite. Above all, the staff's service is exceptional. I'm impressed by how well-trained they are. As long as the staff maintain this standard, this will be my go-to hotel whenever I visit Kyoto.

    Conveniently located.

    Conveniently located near the station, making it easy to go anywhere. The luggage delivery service to the station was very helpful and made my stay more comfortable. While it is not a Business Hotel and lacks advanced features like smartphone integration, all essential amenities are provided.

    First-time use.

    I went to see the cherry blossoms. The location is very convenient, just steps from the subway station. I had known about this Hotel before but used it for the first time. The staff at the front desk and cleaning were very polite and pleasant. The bathroom was a bit too small, but everything else was highly satisfactory. I would like to use it again if I have the chance.

    I usually stay at Kyoto Hotel Okura near Kawaramachi Oike in Kyoto, but this time I chose Karasuma Kyoto Hotel for its convenient access to the subway (Hankyu Railway). The customer service was pleasant, and the cost performance was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, allowing me to enjoy a pleasant stay. I also enjoyed cocktails at Bar Anchor on B1 this time. I will definitely use this accommodation again.

    Conveniently located.

    This time, I chose this hotel for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights due to its proximity to my destination. I enjoyed a comfortable stay in a spacious Room. Although I initially did not plan to have breakfast at the Hotel during my stay, I changed my mind midway and tried to find information about the breakfast venue in the Room but couldn’t locate it, so I ended up going out instead. It was a bit disappointing as I later found out through an online search that it was listed there and could have been visited. I often encountered international tourists in the elevator and had memorable moments exchanging smiles with them. The convenient location has made me use this Hotel frequently even before the pandemic, and visiting again after such a long time brought back nostalgic feelings. Thank you very much!

    Hankyu Shijo Station was nearby, so this time I entered Kyoto using Hankyu from Itami Airport. As a result, I arrived at the hotel early without any stress. The front desk staff kindly accommodated my early check-in, and I was especially delighted by their use of Kyoto dialect (not standard Japanese or language learned through study). Moreover, observing the slow and graceful movements of the male staff member allowed me to truly feel the essence of Kyoto. I also enjoyed coffee at a related Kyoto Hotel (now Okura), where I felt the same sense of Kyoto through their staff as well. Please do not follow trends set by foreign-affiliated or new hotels; as someone who once stayed at the old Kyoto Hotel (before it became a high-rise hotel with Baccarat chandeliers in its dining area), I sincerely hope you maintain your unique traditions. This visit to Kyoto was just as wonderful as before thanks to all the staff at your accommodation "Kyoto Hotel Karasuma," who have inherited the spirit of hospitality from those days at the old Kyoto Hotel. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to you all!

    I was satisfied with the courteous service.

    I chose this place because it was the closest to my friend's shop in Kyoto, and I am very satisfied. One wish I have is that it would be nice to have more pickles for breakfast. I also liked that the amenities could be chosen in the lobby, so I could skip items like razors that I would never use (haha). If possible, it would be great to have lotion packages specifically for women. The reception staff were very pleasant, and I liked the retro system of leaving the key at the front desk, as it allows for communication. Plus, there's no worry about losing the key. I also appreciated being able to choose between smoking and non-smoking rooms. I will definitely use this place again.

    This is the biggest reason for choosing the Okura chain. Since I couldn't book the Okura near the city hall this time, I chose this one. The level of customer service from the staff varied greatly compared to the main Okura. The room cleaning staff here were better than those at the main Okura. I believe this is likely due to individual potential differences. Overall, I am grateful for a satisfying 6-day stay.

    Prime Location

    I have been using this accommodation at the end of the year for over 20 years because it is located in the best location for me. While I would like to say I am 100% satisfied, I was disappointed this time as the room's bath did not heat up sufficiently.

    I would like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto.

    The check-in and restaurant service were excellent as expected. The location is central, with a subway station nearby, making it convenient. I went by car, but the multi-story parking lot was narrow, making it difficult for large cars to enter. I managed to get in somehow. The course meal for guests was delicious for the price. It's slightly inconvenient that the restaurant only offers Chinese cuisine. The room seems to have been somewhat renovated, but the washroom remains old. I would like to stay again when I visit Kyoto.

    Suitable for groups, noisy children

    The breakfast venue was bustling with families with small children and group tourists from China and Korea. It was quite a challenge with children crying and running around! The number of guests was overwhelming, and the staff seemed very busy replenishing the dishes. The menu was abundant, and the mapo eggplant, braised chicken, congee, and pickles were delicious. It was very convenient as it was right after exiting from Exit 4 of Shijo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line, and you could take the elevator to the ground level. It was very convenient.
