    Bath After Check-in

    I worked up a sweat and planned to use the large public bath right after checking in at 3:00 PM, but it was only available from 5:00 PM. It was very disappointing, especially since this Accommodation promotes its baths.

    Conveniently located with friendly staff.

    Conveniently located near the station, with a convenience store next door. The front desk staff were also kind. However, when I tried to use the bath in the Room, only a trickle of hot water came out, and the Onsen on the first floor had water that was far too hot. The Room was reasonably clean overall, but when I looked under the bed, there was a dusty plastic bag someone had left behind and one Hotel-logo slipper lying there covered in dust...

    The parking area was hard to find.

    The service was fine. The biggest drawback was that the parking lot was hard to find. I went to the large public bath around 20:30, but there were only enough washing stations for about four people and it was full, so I couldn’t even get into the tub and had to wait naked. It was right after dinner when it gets crowded, so it seems better to go at a different time. Overall, I would have liked the price to be a bit lower.

    Reviews for Matsue Station Across

    For this stay, I had made a reservation at Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae. However, upon checking the hotel's prior information, I learned that the structure differs between "Matsue Ekimae" and "Matsue Station Across," and wheelchair users need to confirm in advance. At "Across," the room layout required maneuvering a wheelchair in tight spaces due to a wall directly in front of the entrance, making entry and exit challenging. Additionally, while the name "Matsue Ekimae" suggests proximity to the station, it turned out that “Matsue Station Across” is actually closer with better access. This might be confusing for first-time visitors. I stayed at “Matsue Station Across” this time. The interior featured simple designs using plywood materials without unnecessary costs, offering cleanliness and an overall pleasant impression. The minimalist atmosphere was refreshing and comfortable. On the other hand, I experienced some stress during check-in. The front desk staff were occupied assisting non-Japanese-speaking international guests, which caused delays and left me feeling frustrated. Although there were staff present, most of the process was directed towards self-check-in machines with minimal face-to-face interaction or explanation from staff members—this felt impersonal and disappointing. Moreover, operating the check-in machine was not intuitive and added further stress. While location convenience and cleanliness were positive aspects of my stay, there is room for improvement regarding clarity on naming versus actual distance as well as enhancements in check-in guidance. For future guests considering this accommodation option, confirming differences between Matsue Ekimae and Across beforehand will ensure a more comfortable stay experience.

    I stayed for two nig...

    I stayed for two nights. The location is very convenient, just near the station, and the front desk staff were very accommodating. The amenities provided everything I needed, making my stay comfortable. I also appreciated the option to choose a pillow, which was a nice service. The bathroom in the room felt a bit small, but since there is access to an Onsen, it was not an issue at all. If I visit Matsue again, I would definitely like to stay here!

    Unfortunately.

    I reserved a triple room for 3 people, but the room had two beds pushed together with three sets of pillows. I have never experienced such a setup before, and asking adults to sleep side by side in a "triple room" is unacceptable. It was the worst hotel experience. I requested an additional single room. Is this even a hotel that should be listed on IKYU.com? I seriously doubt it, and my trust in IKYU.com has definitely diminished. As a Diamond member, I am considering canceling my membership.

    The breakfast was very good. The location of the elevator from the entrance was a bit difficult to find.

    There's a bit of a smell, but

    Something smelled in the room... I never figured out what it was, but it was unpleasant... The breakfast was sufficient in quantity. You need to be prepared as there are stairs up to the lobby.
