    We often stay in one...

    We often stay in one Room as a family of three, and Daiwa Roynet Hotel Utsunomiya was the most spacious among the Hotels we have stayed at so far. Even with an extra bed added, there was still plenty of space, and we were able to stay comfortably. Breakfast was also great, with a good variety and generous replenishment.

    The bathroom is also comfortable.

    I stayed one night in a Single Room. It was close to the station, the Room was clean, and the bathtub was large, so I had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was also delicious.

    Conveniently located near the station.

    I recently visited Utsunomiya for work and stayed at this Hotel near the station. Personally, I like to relax in the bath after work, so having a bathroom with a washing area was very helpful. Breakfast was served as a buffet, and my husband was satisfied with the variety of small dishes he could choose from.

    Close to the station

    The access from the Hotel to the Light Cube Utsunomiya event was convenient. It was new and clean.

    There are a few disappointing points.

    Daiwa Roynet often features independent bathrooms, which I have used in other locations as well. This time, we stayed near Utsunomiya Station and chose this accommodation because of the independent bathroom, which we liked. Our car was too large to fit in the hotel parking lot, so we were directed to a nearby private parking facility. However, it was not affiliated with the hotel and no support or discounts were provided. The next day, I noticed that other hotels had their names listed on the entrance sign of the parking lot as affiliated facilities, which left me feeling disappointed. The most unsatisfactory part was during check-in. When I went to the front desk and gave my name, I was told to use a machine behind them for check-in instead. We arrived after 8 PM when there were only two staff members at the front desk and no other guests besides us. After struggling with entering my name and address into an unfamiliar system just to access our room, I was then asked to input my husband's name and address as well. Is it necessary for both individuals in a couple? Since we booked through IKYU.com, shouldn't all this information already be sent beforehand? Do we really need to re-enter everything? If it had been during peak hours with many guests checking in simultaneously, dividing tasks between staff-assisted check-ins and machine-based ones might save time—but at such a quiet hour with no one else around—couldn't they have simply confirmed our details at reception quickly instead? Machines are supposed to save time but this felt like quite the opposite experience. Later on near the elevator area where amenities were placed out openly—I raised my voice asking "Are these not available in rooms?" towards reception staff nearby since there wasn’t any prior explanation about amenities being self-service-only during automated check-ins compared against human-assisted ones where such details would typically get mentioned. As for our room itself—it felt spacious enough considering it's categorized under Business Hotels; though while relaxing inside its non-unit bath setup (a plus), space remained somewhat tight overall without extras like washbasins/chairs provided (which seems consistent across Daiwa Roynet properties). Lastly regarding bedding—the mattress firmness leaned heavily towards harder preferences than expected!

    It was a pleasant stay.

    Last October, I stayed at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Morioka and had a great experience, so this time, when staying in Utsunomiya, I chose this Hotel without hesitation. The main reason for my choice was that the toilet and bathroom are separate. In most Business Hotels, the toilet and bath are combined in a small space, but having them separate is much more convenient. The Room was on the top floor, spacious with a reclining chair, ottoman, and massage machine. My husband felt relieved from his body stiffness after a long drive. For breakfast, we could choose from three options: I had the Western-style roast beef meal while my husband opted for the grilled fish set meal. The salad bar and drink bar were also delightful additions. However, the grilled fish seemed steamed rather than grilled with no browning on it; also, milk was not kept on ice and was lukewarm—hence my 4-star rating. The Room was clean and comfortable to stay in overall; however, I noticed some dust on the ventilation fan above the sink area—please check that. I would love to stay at Daiwa Roynet Group Hotels again if given another opportunity!
