    To visit the Van Gogh Exhibition

    I stayed here because I wanted to try the round gyoza dumplings. The Hotel itself is old, but it was well cleaned and I had a comfortable stay. There are no amenities in the Room; you can pick up a toothbrush set and body sponge at the front desk, and female guests can also receive a skincare set. The TV also supports YouTube and Amazon Prime (a big plus!). I slept well thanks to the bed pad recommended by the Hotel. The only downside was the shower—the temperature kept changing between hot and lukewarm, making it hard to adjust. There was also an Onsen, but it only has three seats, and you need to pick up a key at the front desk to use it, so I didn’t bother. Breakfast didn’t have a wide variety of items, but I was happy to enjoy local specialties such as kozuyu soup and radium Onsen eggs.

    Great value for money

    Although the discount was conditional, the original rates were not high, and breakfast was included, so it felt like a great value. The Room key used a key-lock system, so it may not be new, but everything was kept clean and tidy, and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

    Great value for money.

    I stayed for one night with No Meals Included to visit the Van Gogh exhibition. The building and the Room Facilities felt a bit dated, but the front desk staff were very kind, and overall I was satisfied with the value for money.

    Bath

    The water temperature was lukewarm. I noticed the instructions about adjusting it with hot water when going up, but it would have been better if they were posted on the entrance door. The meals and staff were excellent.

    About the Women's Bath

    The women's bath requires a key from the front desk for access. It is a small bath with a capacity of up to 3 people. During busy hours, there was about a 30-minute wait, and when I finally entered, someone with children joined, making it 3.5 people in total and exceeding the capacity. This made it difficult to relax properly. Another person who was not with the children also left shortly after entering. There was only one hairdryer available, so I had to return to my Room with wet hair to dry it there. The men's bath reportedly offered an excellent experience. For women planning to use the public bath, please be mindful of potential crowding during peak times. Breakfast was very delicious and included local specialties, which were highly satisfying. The Hotel is conveniently located near the station and offers great accessibility, making it an excellent choice for male guests in particular.

    Delicious breakfast provided.

    We decided to visit a nearby amusement park with our family and found this Hotel while searching for accommodations. It was our first time staying here. Having read Reviews mentioning "old rooms" and "retro style," we were prepared, but the Room was not old at all—spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom did have a slightly nostalgic type where you adjust hot and cold water manually, but it worked perfectly fine. The bed's mattress was also very comfortable to sleep on. However, the air conditioner remote in the Room didn’t work—it might have been due to dead batteries or malfunction—and it stayed at 22°C warm air without functioning further, making it a bit hot for those sleeping under the bed directly below it. The breakfast buffet was highly satisfying with a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes that were delicious. The selection of bread was particularly impressive! We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Showa Retro Hotel

    The building and rooms have a historical feel, but they are well-cleaned. The bed felt modern and was very comfortable to sleep on. However, the bath uses two separate faucets for hot and cold water to adjust the temperature, which might be challenging for those unfamiliar with older systems. The ceiling in the room's bathroom is low, so it may not be suitable for people over 180cm tall. That said, there is a small public bath available that solves this issue. The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations given the affordable accommodation price. It featured local dishes like Shiroishi Umen noodles, an-butter sandwiches, specialty eggs, and more. There were so many options that it was impossible to try everything! They even had strawberries, which was surprising. Considering the price point of this accommodation, the quality of food was unexpected. All in all, I think I would stay at this hotel again!

    The breakfast is delicious.

    The first floor is very clean, and the breakfast dining area also has a nice sense of cleanliness. The breakfast, in particular, includes dishes from Fukushima and is delicious and very satisfying. The Room felt somewhat old, but the staff's response was good, and I was able to spend my time comfortably.
