    Comfortable

    This was my first time visiting Utsunomiya, and I stayed here. I often use Hotel Mets in other locations, so I booked with confidence. Since I used self check-in, I did not have much interaction with staff and cannot really comment on service, but the Hotel has a stylish atmosphere overall. The Room was very clean, the air conditioning worked well, and I had a comfortable stay. I think Hotel Mets is great wherever you go!

    The location near the station is convenient. Perhaps because we were on the lowest floor, opening the curtains revealed the railway tracks right in front of us, which was surprising. The noise and vibrations were stressful. There is a fairly large step up into the bathroom, which may be dangerous for elderly guests.

    The loungewear was excellent.

    Thanks to the separate roomwear made of a gauze-like fabric, I was able to relax very comfortably. Also, the bed mattress was not too soft, so it didn’t strain my lower back and I slept soundly.

    Great convenience!

    I stayed for one night in July on a business trip. The Hotel is directly connected to the station, making it very convenient, and the interior has been renovated and was very clean. The lounge access was also great. Check-in and check-out were very smooth, and I would like to stay here again.

    It was comfortable.

    Fully satisfactory as a Business Hotel. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth, and the amenities were practical with no waste. The bath was pleasant to use, and the pillow was comfortable. It would have been even better if there had been a hand towel.

    Satisfied.

    The location is convenient, and the room was spacious enough and very clean, so I was very satisfied. I didn’t use the dining options, but there is a restaurant on the front desk floor, and there were also many places to eat nearby. If one of your group’s Hotels is available at my future travel destinations, I would be happy to stay again.

    It was very convenient to have dining and shopping in the same building. However, it was a bit inconvenient to go to a different floor to get coffee.

    The Room is spacious and comfortable.

    I always stay here. The Room is spacious and clean. Check-in and check-out are done at a machine, but when several guests were using it at the same time, I waited about 10 minutes. When I asked to leave my luggage in the morning, I also had to wait a bit because staff were assisting another guest or on the phone. I was in a hurry, so it was inconvenient. The service is good overall. Since you have to go all the way to the lounge for coffee, it would be more convenient if it were available at the front desk.

    Wi‑Fi available

    The Room had a unique layout, but I was able to stay comfortably. The bed and everything else were excellent. If there is one thing I would like to see improved, it would be the Wi-Fi speed. Perhaps a large IT-related conference was being held nearby during my stay and many attendees were staying in the area, which may have affected it, but it was so slow that it was quite difficult to use.

    Directly connected to the station, it’s very convenient, and I’d like to make this my regular Accommodation when visiting Utsunomiya. Everything essential is provided, so no issues. However, the air conditioner’s heating took quite a while to warm up, so it was cold at first. By morning it was warm, so I think it just takes time to heat up. The heating is acceptable, but if it were the cooling, that might be a bit of a concern...

    I was looking forward to it, but...

    I visited expecting to enjoy the Facility near the station, but it was disappointing. The front desk staff were not kind and did not provide much information on unclear points, which was very disappointing. I will definitely choose a different Hotel next time.

    Dimly lit Hotel

    The Hotel was dimly lit, likely to create an atmosphere with indirect lighting, but it felt unnecessary even inside the Room. The bathroom had a large step, which may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. This is information you wouldn't know until entering the Room. I opted for breakfast included, but it didn't feel special and seemed unnecessary in hindsight.

    It was comfortable.

    Due to unexpected errands, I had to go to Oyama and made a same-day reservation, checking in after 8 PM. The room was spacious and provided a more relaxing stay than I expected. The bed was very comfortable as well. I also enjoyed the view of trains from the window, especially being able to see the Shinkansen up close from the gym and coffee server area. I stayed at a great price during a time sale, and I would love to use this place again if I visit Utsunomiya in the future.

    A Hotel with a Non-Contact Style

    Despite having three staff members at the front desk, I was directed to a self-check-in machine when I informed them of my check-in. A monitor on the left side of the machine displayed a man's face explaining how to use it, but switching between looking at the screen and him made it hard to focus on operating. I missed that I needed to input my full name and only entered my last name, which resulted in an error message saying "not found." The man on the screen then said, "Please enter your full name." It all became frustrating. While I wanted silence to concentrate on operating, I refrained from voicing this thought. I wondered why this was necessary when I had already installed the JR Hotel app and registered as a member. The room had an air purifier with a humidifier function but no instructions for use were provided. When turning on the humidifier function, it displayed "no water." Even refilling water for the humidifier was self-service. Feeling irritated in my room seemed pointless, so I headed to the second floor via elevator; however, it always stopped at the front desk floor where I'd have to check if anyone was there before closing the door—an annoying process. How long would this irritation continue? For some reason, only breakfast-inclusive plans are available at this hotel. Since hotel breakfasts are usually buffet-style with similar offerings everywhere, I've avoided them in general; however, as there were no other options here, I reluctantly went for breakfast. Even here there was no guidance provided—just handed a card with instructions like “flip over after finishing your meal.” No explanation about dining procedures or offerings was given either. Interpreting their lack of explanation as “do whatever you want,” everything felt impersonal yet predictable: being in Utsunomiya meant gyoza were served even for breakfast! Though skeptical about eating gyoza early morning purely out of curiosity—it turned out they were just ordinary ones. Sausages resembling wieners weren’t adequately heated—they remained cold inside while eating them amidst overhearing someone asking nearby staff where soy sauce could be found—the response unclear due background noise until another guest seemingly misdirected further away got scolded harshly instead unnecessarily escalating tension amongst diners alike! Had proper guidance been offered initially avoiding such awkward exchanges altogether ensuring smoother experiences overall rather than prioritizing convenience solely benefiting themselves disregarding customer satisfaction entirely evident throughout stay ultimately deeming ¥13k price unjustifiable!

    A Business Hotel with the quality of a City Hotel

    I stayed here for a trip to enjoy gyoza and sightseeing in Nikko. The contracted parking lot is right in front of the hotel (be cautious as it uses the general station parking, which may be full). JR Utsunomiya Station is directly connected to the building. A popular gyoza restaurant is located on the lobby floor. The parking lot can be used for 24 hours from entry to exit, so I arrived around noon, left my luggage before check-in time, and enjoyed some gyoza and beer for a break. By paying 1,200 yen at the hotel reception, you can leave the parking lot easily by late morning the next day—very convenient! Check-in methods might vary depending on personal preferences (I personally found online monitors unnecessary). Amenities follow a business hotel style where you pick up what you need from the lobby floor (which I think works well). The wide variety of amenities satisfied my wife who accompanied me. The bathroom and sink area felt like those in city hotels (with a bathtub and Western-style toilet that are spacious enough for those who dislike cramped business accommodations). Other than slightly dim lighting, I was very satisfied with how much larger this room was compared to typical business hotels. Coffee (and tea) needs to be picked up from an exclusive lounge within the accommodation facility (which is also spacious), but I was surprised by how large and impressive it was. It felt underutilized as there were hardly any people during my stay—a bit of a wasteful impression. The smoking area at its back seemed more frequently used mainly by smokers. Overall, this hotel left such a good impression that I'd definitely consider staying here again when visiting Utsunomiya next time!

    Stay Here in Utsunomiya

    Directly connected to the station, making it very convenient. The Room is spacious for a Business Hotel, and the bed was comfortable. I usually can't sleep well on the first night at a Hotel, but I slept soundly from the first day and even felt like I was at home when I woke up. Considering the reasonable price, both the Room and Facility quality were excellent. However, please note that there is a step at the entrance of the bathroom that requires caution. I plan to visit Utsunomiya again and will likely stay at this Hotel once more.

    Beyond expectations for the price.

    High satisfaction with the price. Cleanliness of water facilities, Room, amenities, lounge, breakfast, and direct connection to the station. Check-in and check-out were easy and very convenient. The gyoza from Aogen was delicious.

    Great value for money!

    Check-in time at 7 PM was a first for me and a bit confusing. The breakfast selection was fewer than shown in the website photos, which was a slight downside. However, the value for money is excellent, and I would love to stay here again.

    Perfect Hotel for Unforgettable Sightseeing

    This Hotel offers a great balance of price and location, making it ideal for short stays and sightseeing! I have stayed here about four times. One thing to note is that while there are many parking spaces available, the Hotel does not have its own dedicated parking lot. On weekends, there is a high chance that the parking lots may be full. However, the parking lot in front of the Hotel and the multi-story parking garage across from it are affiliated with the Hotel and have plenty of capacity, so you should be able to park after a short wait. The only downside is that the hairdryer is weak, which might make it time-consuming for women with long hair to dry their hair. It would be great if new ones could be introduced soon! Looking forward to staying again!

    A family trip to Utsunomiya for delicious gyoza.

    The front desk and hallway were renovated and had a stylish feel. The location is excellent. I requested a non-smoking room, but it smelled like a smoking room with deodorization, which was disappointing. The facility felt quite old. Overall ventilation was poor, and there was noticeable humidity. I had high expectations for breakfast, but the replenishment was insufficient, and I couldn't try the curry. While the taste was decent, there were few options overall, and it lacked any sense of luxury. I made the reservation based on good reviews but would prefer to book a different hotel next time.

    I used this hotel during a temporary return to Japan. The direct connection to the station was extremely convenient. When I was confused about using the machines for check-in and check-out, a staff member quickly came out and kindly assisted me in person, which I greatly appreciated. The guest room was spacious, and the water pressure in the shower of the unit bath was strong, which made my stay very satisfying.

    Great value for money! Although the check-in process felt impersonal as I was directed to use a machine, the Room and floor were stylish and lovely. At this price, with such a great location and Room, it's fantastic. Since you can check out directly from the Room, I can avoid unpleasant service next time!

    Stayed with my wife ...

    Stayed with my wife and one preschool-aged child. The automated check-in system was interesting, especially with an operator available. The terminal was user-friendly and not difficult to use. We knew the room would be spacious from the plan, but the high ceiling made it feel even more open than expected. The bathtub was so large that you could almost lie down in it rather than just stretch your legs. Both the toilet and bathroom were very clean. The bed was big, and since we had inquired beforehand, they arranged a Hollywood-style double bed for us, which made Child Sharing Existing Bedding very comfortable. I believe two adults and up to two preschool-aged children can sleep comfortably. (Allowing up to two preschool-aged children for free would be greatly appreciated by families.) Being close to the station makes it convenient for families with children to relax and enjoy their stay. If I have another chance to visit Utsunomiya, I will first check if I can make a reservation here. Thank you for your hospitality!

    The Room was spacious and clean.

    I stayed for one night for work. I reserved a single, non-smoking room with breakfast included, but my room was upgraded to a spacious twin room. Considering the season, the price was high for a Business Hotel, so I felt slightly relieved to have a larger room. Overall, it was good; however, there were no amenities in the room as everything was located in the lobby. It was disappointing that there were no shower caps or coffee and tea, which are usually provided. Additionally, the restaurant for breakfast was very small compared to the number of guests. Even though I went around 8 AM to avoid crowds, it was still busy. The buffet-style setup made it difficult to get food due to overcrowding and didn’t allow me to relax during breakfast time. I hope some improvements can be made in this regard.

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    We visited Utsunomiya as a family for the first time to meet with our son’s future in-laws before his wedding. The hotel system allows guests to select their own amenities at the lobby. There is a wide variety of amenities available, even bath additives. Our room was a Residential Twin, where four of us stayed together. It was equipped with two main beds, an extra bed, and a sofa bed. Honestly, I was worried about the comfort of the beds, but it turned out to be unnecessary concern. The mattresses were excellent, and we slept very well. The room also had a washer-dryer and microwave oven installed—very convenient! This hotel features a lounge on the 5th floor with spacious seating areas and complimentary coffee from a coffee maker. The sofas are so comfortable that you might feel tempted to take a nap there! Breakfast is served buffet-style and even includes gyoza—a luxurious touch! Everything was delicious. One thing to note: always carry your room key when leaving your room as you need it to operate the elevator. Overall, this accommodation exceeded expectations. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Utsunomiya in the future!
