    A conveniently located Hotel for sightseeing in Arashiyama

    My main purpose this time was to visit Arashiyama, so I stayed at this Hotel in Shijo-Omiya. The nearby bus stop is also conveniently located, with many bus routes to various areas of Kyoto. The Room had an unusual design—a Japanese-style Room with beds—but it was comfortable. If possible, I would have liked a floor chair. The large public bath was also nice, but the only drawback was that the shower pressure was so strong it hurt when sprayed on my face. Also, I heard the women’s public bath was extremely crowded on Saturday night, so it would be helpful if the TV in the Room could show how busy the public bath is, like some other hotels do.

    I felt a genuine desire to make guests happy.

    The Hotel’s public bath had bottled toner and lotion available, and they felt great—an unexpected touch. Checking the label, I found they were made by a small cosmetics company based locally in Kyoto. The ice pops after the bath were also high quality. Come to think of it, the sake and pickles served in the lobby were delicious as well: a variety of chilled sake kept properly cold in a tasting cooler, along with pickles from a well-known long-established Kyoto shop. You could really feel they weren’t cutting corners with “cheap is good enough.” The next morning, a Kyoto-style bento breakfast was delivered to my Room. I thought it was a great idea that let me relax at my own pace. The care put into Japanese bento is more than worth savoring slowly.

    The large public bath is excellent.

    All the staff, including those who handled phone inquiries, were pleasant and kind, which was great. The Japanese-Western style Room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. There was bottled water in the fridge for each guest, and I was happy the in-room hair dryer was a SALONIA. The large public bath also had a spacious tub and was very relaxing. I’ve stayed at several Hotels in Kyoto with a large public bath, and this one was the best. The only downside was that the changing area felt a bit small. There are U-shaped lockers with keys, but even with lockers available it felt like you might have to wait if there were two or three people. Still, I appreciated that cocoa and milk tea sticks were provided so you wouldn’t get cold—it felt very thoughtful. The samue loungewear was comfortable as well, and I found it to be a very relaxing Hotel overall. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Service with a Smile

    We stayed as a group of five and had a pleasant experience thanks to the friendly and attentive staff. The Room did not offer any view from the window, but we were delighted with the sake service in the lobby, served in glass cups. The bath was spacious, though the area around the changing room boxes felt a bit cramped and slightly inconvenient. The samue loungewear provided in the Room was very comfortable! Access from Omiya Station was excellent.

    I stayed at the Hotel during my trip to Kyoto at the end of September! The access to Arashiyama was convenient, which was very helpful! The breakfast service delivered directly to the Room allowed me to enjoy a calm and relaxing meal. It was delicious. Although the futon was self-service, the mattress felt a bit thin, which made my back slightly uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very good Hotel. Thank you so much!

    I had a comfortable ...

    I had a comfortable stay at this clean and well-maintained Hotel. The reception staff, as well as the cleaning staff in the morning, were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles. This time, I chose a Plan without breakfast, but next time I would like to try a Plan that includes meals.

    Tatami-style

    There seems to be a high demand from inbound travelers, and I was surprised by the tatami-style flooring. There were no beds, and guests are required to lay out their own futons. As I was on a business trip this time, the lack of chairs and tables (only a low table was provided) was inconvenient. Well, it’s my fault for not researching thoroughly beforehand. Breakfast was served in-room as a bento box, similar to a Ryokan experience. The complimentary ice pops near the large public bath were delicious.

    Family Satisfaction in the Heart of Kyoto

    We stayed with one elementary school child and three adults. The parking was at a nearby multi-story self-parking facility, which was shaded, so the car didn’t get too hot—very convenient. The hotel seemed to be a renovated apartment building, with outdoor hallways and windows facing neighboring buildings, so we kept the curtains closed. The room had vinyl tatami flooring with two beds set up; the remaining guests slept on futons that we laid out ourselves. Before laying out the futons, the room felt very spacious and comfortable. There was a large public bath on the first floor where we could relax after our travels. After bathing, there were ice bars available for us to enjoy, which made our child very happy. In addition, various types of Japanese sake and pickles were offered in the lobby—perfect for sampling before dinner and getting pleasantly tipsy! It was great to try different kinds of sake. The location near Shijo-Omiya Station meant there were plenty of dining options nearby for dinner without any trouble finding a place to eat. In an area where most accommodations have only two beds per room, this large room suitable for families or groups was excellent! Overall, it was a highly satisfying accommodation for our family stay.

    Overall, it offers great value for the price.

    The "Room Assigned on Arrival Plan" provided a spacious twin Japanese-style room with wooden amenities and a large TV, which was excellent. The public bath was open late at night, which was also satisfying. Although I didn't try the sake service, it left a good impression. Negative points: - No Wi-Fi? Or perhaps insufficient signage, which was disappointing. - For breakfast, I chose the priority pattern of yudofu (hot tofu), but it wasn't great; I think prioritizing the obanzai bento would be better. - The parking lot exit process was inconvenient, but being close to the station makes it understandable. Overall, I would consider staying again!

    I stayed here once over 10 years ago. It was both nostalgic and refreshing... The lobby was crowded on New Year's Eve, but I was glad to be able to visit the large public bath during a relatively quiet time. I liked the samue provided as indoor wear. It would be nice if I could purchase it. Thank you.

    Kyoto Trip

    We stayed in a large room that could accommodate six family members. After checking in, we enjoyed the lovely hospitality, such as a corner where you could create a bookmark with your favorite scent and a sake bar. When you get off the elevator, it leads to an outdoor corridor, so it's hot in the summer. The room was spacious enough for three children and three adults to stay comfortably. However, the washroom and toilet had a rather peculiar smell, so if that could be improved, it would be perfect. The large public bath was open even at night and was a spacious and clean bath. The post-bath ice cream was also delicious. Since the mattress doubled as a futon, my mother, who has a bad back, suffered from back pain and ended up sleeping on the sofa, but the rest of us were able to sleep soundly. I would like to use this place again when I visit Kyoto.

    Due to unforeseen ci...

    Due to unforeseen circumstances, our original travel plans fell through, and we made a last-minute reservation at this hotel on the day of our stay. Thank you for upgrading our room even though we received a 20% discount for booking at the last minute. We inquired about an earlier check-in time, and the customer service was excellent over the phone, during check-in, and whenever we came and went. Even after check-out, they kindly called to inform us about a forgotten item, which was very considerate. I felt the room had a bit of a love hotel vibe. The lighting couldn't be adjusted, which was a bit inconvenient since we had a child with us. I was concerned that the floor in the large public bath was quite wet, and the area around the lockers was dusty (especially the upper parts). Also, the tables in the lobby were wet, which caught my attention. However, it was very affordable, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.
