    This was my first st...

This was my first stay. The building was a bit old, but it had a charming atmosphere from the entrance, and the Room was spacious and relaxing. Breakfast was carefully prepared and the service was attentive, so I could appreciate the quality of a long-established Hotel from the morning.

    A Quick Local Getaway

Used as a couple Close to the station, with parking available. The Hotel itself is a long-established property, so it’s a bit old, but it has well-preserved charm and quality. That’s why we keep coming back again and again. It’s clean and well organized, and the spaces from the entrance to the lobby and lounge always feel relaxing whenever we visit. The Hotel staff are also very kind, so please feel free to talk to them.

A Hotel with a Wonderful Atmosphere

We stayed here for one night on a trip to Kofu. From the Hotel entrance to the reception, and further back to the lounge, the space was wonderful and truly felt like a high-class Hotel. The Room was also clean and well maintained. What we especially loved was the large public bath with free-flowing Onsen water straight from the source—it was very relaxing. We didn’t dine at the Hotel this time, but we’re looking forward to doing so on our next visit.

    A Calm, Classic Hotel

I stayed at this Hotel when I came from Yokohama to see the peach blossoms. Unfortunately, it was raining. When I parked in the open-air parking lot, a staff member held an umbrella for me and escorted me to the Hotel entrance. I was truly impressed by their kindness. This is a classic Hotel with over 100 years of history. It’s small in scale, but feels like a calm, adults-only kind of place. I had made a Reservation for a single Room, but they kindly upgraded me to a twin—thank you so much. A twin for 13,000 yen was a wonderful surprise. The Room had warm yellow indirect lighting. Since I love reading, bringing my own reading light was the right choice. I checked in at 2:00 PM and went straight to the Onsen. You get off on the third floor, step outside once, then take another elevator down to the first floor. With the driving rain, you get a little wet—and your slippers do too—but it somehow adds to the atmosphere and became a good experience. There was no one else in the bath area at first, so it felt like having it all to myself. Inside there are three washing stations, and outside there are two. At first I wondered if that would be enough—but when I went again around 10:00 PM there were only two other guests, so it was more than sufficient. It’s a smaller Onsen overall. There are two open-air baths; one feels like a pot-style bath. I enjoyed trying them all. Hotels built in this Taisho-era style were originally meant for dining, dancing, and socializing—back when large public baths weren’t part of hotel culture—so it makes sense that the Onsen remains small. At Benjarong, I ordered a bottle of Chablis. The aroma was lovely and the fruity flavor was irresistible. The fried shrimp was perfectly crisp as well—no complaints at all. To finish off the evening, I enjoyed some time at the bar counter listening to stories from the bartender. I was also surprised that breakfast wasn’t noisy like at many other Hotels. There were just a few businesspeople. It was quiet enough that you could clearly hear soft background music. That kind of calm is really nice too. Since I chose Western-style breakfast: toast, eggs, salad, coffee, and yogurt. The bread was crispy on the outside and pleasantly chewy inside—delicious. I don’t eat much so I left some behind by mistake. Japanese-style breakfast is also available next time I'd like to try that. Thank you very much for taking care of me during my stay.

There are a few minor drawbacks, though.

Overall, I was satisfied, but there were a few disappointing points. First, the Room was very dark. The room light was only near the entrance, and even after turning on all the lights (including the stand lamp), it was still one of the darkest Hotels I have stayed at. I felt it would be difficult to use for business purposes. Another issue was that the face towel had been placed from the start in the basket for Onsen use, leaving no towel available to dry my hands after washing them at the sink. I think a hand towel should be provided. Also, I think partitions should be installed between washing stations in the Onsen bathing area.

A high-quality Hotel with a calm, relaxing atmosphere throughout.

It was conveniently located within walking distance of Kofu Station. The courteous and kind service, delicious Japanese cuisine, and thoughtful hospitality made our stay very relaxing. Overall, we felt it was a high-quality Hotel with a calm atmosphere and plenty of charm, except that the shower area next to the Room’s open-air bath was extremely cold due to wind blowing in. Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much.

All the staff were kind and pleasant, the Room was spacious, and breakfast was delicious—overall it was better than expected. That’s because IKYU’s site described it as a Business Hotel, so I booked thinking it was a Business Hotel even though the photos looked like it had a nice atmosphere. I don’t think it’s a Business Hotel. There was also a bag for going to the large public bath, which was very convenient.

    What a waste!

The staff's service and cleanliness were very satisfying at the Hotel, but it was disappointing that the bathwater temperature was very lukewarm. I used the bath in the Room to warm up after returning, but even after running hot water for about 10 minutes, only lukewarm water came out.

    An unparalleled sense of satisfaction.

I had some errands in Kawaguchiko and decided to stay overnight in Kofu on my way back. The room and bath felt a bit dated, but the space beyond the lobby was truly like a dream world—absolutely stunning. Even though I checked in around 10 PM, the staff kindly guided me to the parking lot. I've stayed at various accommodations before, but this one allowed me to relax deeply. I realized this even more after returning home. Usually, after trips, I feel glad to be back home, but this time was different—I didn’t feel that way at all. Upon reflection, I think it’s because there was no gap between how relaxed I felt at the hotel and how relaxed I usually feel at home. Since I was tired and found it so comfortable here, I opted for a late check-out. Every staff member was genuinely kind—it seemed as if their warmth extended throughout the entire accommodation itself. As an established hotel with an excellent reputation, it truly lived up to its name and exceeded expectations. Next time, I'd love to visit again for a more leisurely stay!

More than enough for a comfortable stay.

Stayed in a room with an indoor open-air bath, including dinner and breakfast the next morning. Traveled by private car, but one concern arose. There seemed to be a wedding at the hotel that day, and the parking lot was quite full, making it difficult to find a spot. The security staff provided guidance, but it would have been more helpful if they had approached us earlier. Check-in was very smooth. The staff carried our luggage and guided us to our room, which was greatly appreciated. Both the front desk and service staff were pleasant and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were both exceptionally delicious. The indoor open-air bath had two tubs, offering a luxurious experience with perfectly adjusted water temperature—truly wonderful. The room was spacious but slightly dim; while it showed some age, it was well-maintained and felt clean overall. However, possibly due to being in an urban area, ambulance or fire truck sirens were surprisingly loud at times—this might make deep sleep challenging for some depending on luck. There wasn’t any shop within the hotel; its design focused solely on accommodation and dining experiences rather than retail amenities. Would love to stay again if given another opportunity!

    The classic charm is remarkable.

I was drawn to the name and made a reservation. Despite its compact size, the classic hotel ambiance is remarkable and worth a visit. The room was well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The onsen public bath (though compact in size) requires stepping outside the hallway and taking a dedicated elevator, which added to the travel charm. I was very satisfied as I could enjoy an onsen experience even at a hotel in the city center. Instead of staying at expensive hotels in Tokyo, I recommend experiencing a mini getaway by staying in Kofu.

The open-air bath in the Room is excellent.

The Room had two open-air baths, offering an exceptional sense of openness. The hot spring water was free-flowing, making it warm and relaxing. Since it was booked through IKYU, I wished there had been some special service.

A clean Hotel near the station

Even though our arrival time was past 11 PM, the staff welcomed us warmly. We were expecting an Onsen experience due to the location in Kofu, but unfortunately, the outdoor bath was empty, which was disappointing. Additionally, the toilet's bidet function was broken and could not be used. While it may be difficult to check the operation of the bidet regularly, we hope it can be inspected periodically to ensure it works. The furnishings were tasteful, and we had a pleasant stay. The breakfast staff were also very attentive and kind. Considering the affordable price, we would like to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

The charm of the atmosphere surpasses the novelty.

I experienced the historic Hotel in my hometown for the first time. I stayed one night in Kofu for a memorial service. Until now, I have used another Hotel, but for some reason, I decided to look for a different Hotel. I made a reservation to try the Kominato Hotel (Kominato Hoteru), which I remembered from commercials during my childhood in Yamanashi. It's not new, but it has a certain atmosphere. The atmosphere is created not only by the space but also by the demeanor of the staff. It was a very calm Hotel, and I would definitely like to use it again next time. I realized the importance of experiencing things firsthand. Thank you for the pleasant time.

Conveniently located with access to enjoy Onsen.

I chose this place because it is close to the station and has an Onsen. The bath was compact, but since there were only a few people, I was able to enjoy it comfortably. The access was poor, and it was a bit scary to ride the slow-moving elevator with no signs. When I asked the front desk for information about nearby restaurants, they provided very detailed guidance. The lobby is stylish. The wifi in the room was quite weak, and it froze when I tried to answer a survey. I wanted to work remotely, but I gave up because the wifi was unusable.

    Is this a business hotel?

The room, being a junior suite, is moderately spacious and allows for a relaxing stay. The bed is on the firm side, which I personally like. The amenities are not particularly abundant, but they do include items like lotion, which is a plus. Customer Service: I was extremely frustrated with the parking service. The front desk was also very business-like and seemed indifferent. The in-room bath is large but does not appear to be connected to the hot spring, with no explanation provided. The public bath is very small despite being located far away. The facility's equipment and WIFI environment are terrible. There was no explanation about the connection in the first place. Even when I called to inquire, I was given incorrect information. The connection is poor, and even when connected, it is slow. By the next morning, it was completely unconnectable. If it were just a place to stay, it might be acceptable, but from a luxury standpoint, it was not satisfying at all.
