    The bath is a bit small.

    I occasionally stay at Dormy Inn in Hokkaido, and in Kushiro it was pretty much as expected—probably because the building is older, there were no USB ports. I’m glad I brought a USB charger adapter that plugs into a standard outlet. That said, it was a bit puzzling to see an Ethernet (LAN) port for PCs even though Wi‑Fi is available—most travelers don’t carry a LAN cable around. The public bath was a little small, but the view was excellent. The open-air bath was also nice, though it’s small as well and seems to fit only about 2–3 people. I’ve always found the food at Dormy Inn to be good, so I had high expectations, but this time it felt fairly average. Still, it wasn’t bad.

    Two adults and one child.

    I made the Reservation from the start for 2 adults and 1 child, so I expected an additional bed such as a sofa bed to be provided. However, there were only two single beds, and the room felt very cramped. The quality of the stay itself was not bad, but I couldn’t rest properly and ended up feeling very tired.

    A very luxurious breakfast.

    Although it is a Business Hotel in style, the Onsen was excellent, and the breakfast in particular was more luxurious and delicious than expected. For dinner, we used a voucher provided at the front desk and went to a robatayaki restaurant. With restaurants nearby and enjoyable night views, it was a comfortable Hotel to stay in.

    A great accommodation.

    This was my third stay. The highlight here is definitely the breakfast. Just like in the La Vista days, there is a great selection including whelk and grilled shishamo, along with plenty of seafood and Western-style side dishes. The dessert selection may have decreased a little. At the breakfast venue, the couple seated next to us were unusually Japanese, and we had a lively conversation. The Room felt a bit cramped around the entrance area and the ceiling seemed low, but it was clean and simple, making it comfortable to stay in.

    It was so relaxing!

    We stayed for a family trip with adults only. We made a Reservation for two twin Rooms with breakfast included. The Rooms were spacious, and the breakfast was delicious. After a long drive, the Onsen was very relaxing. It’s a small thing, but I would like a tissue box in the washroom as well. Because dinner was late, the only regret was that we couldn’t try the late-night soba.

    Sleep soundly until morning.

    There is an Onsen, and I was able to bathe properly both morning and night, which helped relieve my travel fatigue. The Room curtains block out light well, so even though it was sunny, I slept soundly until late morning. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Kushiro Station and easy to find. Nearby, I enjoyed the local specialty Supakatsu and also went to Seicomart. Highly recommended.

    It was crowded during the Golden Week holidays.

    The famous bath was crowded with families and children. On top of that, three men with tattoos entered openly. The bath rules state that guests with tattoos are not allowed, so this was a clear violation, yet no one said anything. This is also not good from an educational standpoint for children, so if you are going to state it in the rules, please enforce it thoroughly. Alternatively, if tattoos become a widely accepted trend, you may consider removing the rule. If you remove it, guests who dislike tattoos may stop using the Hotel, but that may be unavoidable. In any case, I believe leaving an unenforced rule in place is a betrayal of guests.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    The staff service is good, but the Facility is somewhat outdated, and for guests using JR, the location is less convenient than competing Hotels.

    I was satisfied.

    It met my expectations and I was very satisfied. Breakfast was the highlight, and I was completely full and happy from the morning. I wanted to try everything, but there was too much to finish, so I focused mainly on the seafood rice bowl. The only thing that concerned me was that a few of the small side plates had a bit of residue left on them. It didn’t affect the meal, so I used them anyway, but it would have been perfect with a more thorough check. The Room was clean, and having an outlet by the pillow was very helpful. I’d like to stay here again when I stop by Kushiro next time.

    After all, Dormy Inn

    This time, I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. There were still many foreign guests, but I had a comfortable stay. Looking forward to staying again.

    Is PREMIUM inclusive of meals?

    Stayed in a twin room. A standard room, but since it was on the ocean side, I could see part of the sunset. The top-floor bath might be considered large for a business-type accommodation, but my impression was that it felt cramped! As mentioned in the title, breakfast is impressive. Seafood bowls and various side dishes are available. However, the seating arrangement is questionable—two-person tables are mostly placed in the middle of the room, while four-person tables are by walls or windows. Two-person tables are not very relaxing as other guests frequently pass through the aisle... (We were a group of three). In Kushiro, I've stayed at accommodations near the station like business hotels and Prince or ANA hotels before. If asked where to stay next time? Honestly, I'm undecided.

    It was excellent.

    Thank you for the unexpected upgrade. I have stayed at other Dormy Inn accommodations before and was always satisfied, so I made this reservation with confidence, and it turned out to be an even more comfortable stay than ever. The spacious room allowed me to relax, and the open-air bath with a view of the Hinoki bathtub and Nusamai Bridge was delightful. Despite the rainy weather, I enjoyed the view from the top floor. The breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, including seafood (especially salmon roe) and small side dishes, all of which were delicious and very satisfying. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain during this trip, the Norokko train I planned to ride was canceled. This has given me a reason to revisit Kushiro in the future. When that time comes, I would love to stay here again!

    Parking capacity:

    Stayed upon arrival in Kushiro to explore the Eastern Hokkaido area. The parking lot was crowded, so I was directed to the multi-story parking garage, where there was a line of cars waiting, and I had to wait for a while. When it was finally my turn, I was asked if I planned to use my car later that day. Since I might have used it for dinner plans but wasn’t sure yet, I replied that it was undecided. Then they said, "Oh no, in that case, please park at the coin-operated parking over there." Considering staffing challenges might make this difficult, having an additional staff member guide people when lining up for the multi-story parking would have been helpful. Perhaps reallocating one person from the front desk (which uses automated check-in) could be an option? I greatly appreciated being able to use the washing machines in the public bath area free of charge. The staff were generally very pleasant and accommodating as well. In particular, a female staff member cleaning in the public bath greeted me with a warm smile which left a lasting impression. As a fan of Dormy Inn hotels, checking if there's one available is always my first step when planning trips to new cities. Wishing you continued success!

    It exceeded my expectations.

    It was almost perfect! The staff's service, especially the cheerful greetings and assistance from the breakfast venue staff, was excellent! The location and the view from the Room were absolutely amazing!

    Convenient accommodation for enjoying Kushiro's local gourmet and nightlife.

    Stayed here during a 3-night, 4-day trip to Eastern Hokkaido. Since having hotel dinners every night can get boring, we stayed here on the second night to enjoy a food tour of Kushiro. This hotel is perfect with its walking distance to downtown, sauna, unlimited salmon roe breakfast, and parking for rental cars—Dormy Inn is always the top choice. This was my third stay, and I noticed the rooms had been beautifully renovated. When I checked my reservation, it showed a twin room for three adults without an extra bed, so I hurriedly added another room. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting Kushiro. Thank you!

    A very comfortable accommodation

    A Hotel That Satisfies Everything

    It was used for sightseeing purposes. The downtown area was also nearby, making it convenient to go out for meals, and thank you for providing a lovely Room. The large public bath was not too big or too small, making it easy to use.

    Stable Dormy Inn

    I always choose Dormy Inn for business class stays. The self-check-in machine was easy to use with staff kindly assisting beside it, making the process smooth. I was able to enter without any stress. The breakfast was not as delicious as before, which was disappointing, but everything else was almost as expected. The location is great, making it ideal for sightseeing in Kushiro.

    The service is adequate, and the bath and sauna are wonderful. However, it might be a bit expensive. It's understandable given the post-COVID situation. The breakfast was quite ordinary.

    1) It was nice that ...

    1) It was nice that they accommodated an early check-in around 2:00 PM. 2) Most dining places nearby open from 5:00 PM. The hotel found a place very close by, but since there was no phone number, I asked and it took so long that it would have been faster to walk, but it was closed in the end. There are hardly any places open during happy hour around the hotel, and it seems the hotel doesn't have even this level of information. 3) It might have been a coincidence, but it was disappointing that there was no "congee" for breakfast.

    Customer service skills of the staff

    No smiles from the employees at all. No guidance for unloading luggage when we arrived at the porte-cochere. We had no choice but to carry our large luggage from the distant parking lot. The woman at the front desk just stood there without any guidance for the self-check-in, and her explanations were very condescending. There won't be a second time.

    Dormy that doesn't disappoint

    We used two rooms (Japanese-Western style and double) with my family. There were many guests, so the wait for the elevator was long, and the laundry was a battle, with people lining up in front of the washing machines until 1 a.m. I think women were doing laundry for their families, but with only three washing machines and three dryers, some people used multiple machines or didn't pick up their laundry after drying, which was stressful. The Japanese-Western style room was clean, and the tatami corner was nice, but the bed was low, making it difficult for the elderly to get up. I had a massage in the room, but it seemed difficult for the therapist to apply pressure effectively. The massage fee was not too high, which was appreciated. Next time, I might opt for a twin room. The best part was the breakfast. The melon was sweet and incredibly delicious, and I indulged in seconds. The staff were pleasant and attentive, frequently replenishing the signature seafood rice bowl and the delicious melon, making for a very satisfying breakfast. Overall, compared to other accommodations, the staff were all bright, polite, very kind, and had a good demeanor. It's about a 15-minute walk from the station, located at the foot of the Nusamai Bridge, making it convenient for sightseeing. I recommend it!
