    A bit disappointing.

I stayed here with high expectations because the Reviews were highly rated, but unfortunately it was disappointing overall. First, the Room felt dated, and the unit bath had a fairly large step at the entrance. On top of that, I kept hearing an unexplained trickling sound like water running all night, which bothered me and kept me from sleeping. It was also disappointing that there was no complimentary bottled water service. The breakfast was good. There was a wide variety of items, the layout was designed to avoid crowding, everything was properly replenished, and it tasted great.

It became an unforgettable experience—in the worst way.

I’m not even sure where to begin—this was by far the worst Hotel stay I’ve ever had. The one thing I want to say upfront is: this is a Hotel that does not clean at all. Dust was everywhere in the Room, piled up like snow as if no one had entered for years—on top of the TV, under the window, on the bed frame, and more. I have a dust allergy, and when I opened the curtains I inhaled it and became short of breath; my airways became inflamed and it was extremely painful. When I told the front desk, they moved me to another Room, but it was naturally in the same condition. On top of that, I unpacked before inspecting everything closely in the first Room, so I had to move my belongings myself—three round trips. The elevator was also slow and old, which made it even worse. Instead of resting after check-in, I felt miserable wondering what I was doing with my time. Even after changing Rooms, my symptoms and breathing got worse. I couldn’t even go out to buy water. When I asked the front desk if they could at least provide mineral water, they brought some—but it’s questionable that they wouldn’t offer it unless asked. Isn’t that something you either leave in the Room or provide at check-in? After that my condition worsened further; I took medicine and ended up bedridden in the Hotel. Also, the hair dryer was so old that even the lettering on it had worn off—you couldn’t tell what it said—and on top of that it was broken and wouldn’t blow hot air at all. When I reported this to the front desk they brought a new one; that one worked properly with hot air. If equipment gets that old, shouldn’t you replace it? I was completely exhausted both physically and mentally. My trip—which should have been enjoyable—was totally ruined. I paid in full but still can’t accept what happened. At minimum—even afterward—I wanted a proper apology call from them.

    Delicious breakfast.

I stayed here after hearing that the breakfast is highly rated. It really was delicious—well-made, clearly homemade, and truly satisfying. I’m glad I stayed. It was my first time staying at a Hokke Club, and it made me want to stay at Hokke Club hotels in other locations as well. I really appreciate being able to enjoy local specialties so deliciously. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It was nice to feel refreshed after taking a bath, but

I always choose a Hotel with a large public bath. This was my first stay here, and I felt this is the place to stay in Hakata. The bath was very relaxing, and the rooms in the annex were perfectly fine as well. I have three requests. First, regarding the bath: it would be much more convenient if it were also available in the morning. Being able to bathe in the morning would make for a more comfortable start to the day. It’s very disappointing that it’s only open at night. Second, the 1st-floor lounge: I really appreciate that coffee and tea are free, but it is only available from 2:00 PM and is closed in the morning. It wasn’t particularly crowded, and it didn’t seem like cleaning was being done either. Why can’t guests use it? It feels like you’re telling guests to leave immediately after checkout, but I wanted to relax a little longer until my flight. As it is now, isn’t it just wasted space? Third, the 1st-floor restaurant: on the other hand, this is only open in the morning. I wanted to use it at night, so in the evening I asked a female front desk staff member, “Is your restaurant open?” She replied, “No, we’re open from 6:30 to 9:00.” I assumed that meant 6:30 PM and thought it would be opening soon; however, when I went at 7:00 PM it was closed—6:30 was in fact in the morning. That was disappointing. I hope your international staff will do their best here in Japan, but there seems to be room for improvement in how information is communicated. If she had said “We are only open for breakfast; we open at 6:30 AM,” there would have been no issue. Also, saying that closing time is 9:00 is puzzling—shouldn’t it be until 10:30? That’s what was written on the signboard.

    It was very unpleasant.

It was a very unpleasant stay. I made a Reservation for a Main Building twin Room. At check-in, I was told I had been upgraded and would be staying in a triple Room. Since I don’t like large Rooms, I asked to be put back in the twin Room as originally reserved without any upgrade, but I was told there were no twin Rooms available because the Hotel was fully booked, so I had to stay in the triple Room. There was no choice. On the Reservation site, it says: ■ Twin: A Room designed with space, comfort, and functionality in mind. Featuring Simmons coil beds and duvet-style bedding for a comfortable night’s sleep. ■ Main Building Triple [Non-smoking]: A Room designed with space, comfort, and functionality in mind. Based on this information, I decided that the twin was better and made my Reservation accordingly. From the description of the triple Room, I couldn’t tell what kind of Room it would be for me, so of course I did not book it. The triple Room is not an upgrade for me. The triple Room listing did not include any details about the beds or bedding, and being suddenly told on the day that it was an “upgrade” and being sent to an unfamiliar Room made me very uncomfortable. Even if the Hotel thought they were upgrading me, they simply changed my Room without permission. The TV was also too far away to watch comfortably, and I couldn’t relax at all in such an unnecessarily large room. Since the Hotel considered it an upgrade they provided, there wasn’t even a single word of apology. If I had known I would be staying in a three-person room, I would have chosen another Hotel. The Reservation site presents bright images of a modern-looking Hotel location; however, since we did not use breakfast service (which may contribute to that impression), it didn’t feel modern as expected when booking. The actual room and bed felt quite different from what the photos suggested.

    Highly recommended!

It was a truly wonderful stay. The property was clean, and all the staff worked with sincere dedication. Breakfast was absolutely delicious—thoughtfully prepared dishes that conveyed the warmth of homemade cooking. I usually stay around the Tenjin area, but this Hotel is one I would definitely like to use again. I will continue to support you. Thank you very much.

Questions About the Website Contact Form

I made a Reservation because the Reviews were good, but honestly it was disappointing. First, even though I sent questions and requests in advance via the website inquiry form, I never received a reply. Even when I mentioned this at check-in, they didn’t confirm anything and gave me a vague response. The entrance looked nice, perhaps renovated, but the guest Room felt dated. There was no in-room safe so I had to leave valuables at the front desk; the toilet seat was cold (not heated), which is unusual these days; and the bathroom ventilation was so loud that I couldn’t fall asleep. If there’s one positive point, breakfast had a wide variety of options and tasted great. Sorry, but I didn’t feel like staying again.

    Business trip.

Although it is a bit far from the station, I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the large public bath and breakfast. Some parts of the Facility felt a little dated, but overall I was satisfied. I would be happy if the breakfast salad selection were a bit more substantial...!

The Room was small but sufficient as it was mainly for sleeping. The bath was a bit crowded, but it was relaxing. The staff kindly stored our luggage, and everyone was very friendly. Breakfast left the biggest impression, featuring a variety of delicious Hakata dishes.

    Good Hotel

While not located very close to the downtown area, the Hotel offers convenient access to Hakata Station, Nakasu, and the Nishitetsu Line. The Room shows some signs of age but is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is rich in variety, delicious, and highly satisfying. There is also a separate bath facility available, making this Hotel highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing stay.

Not the best value for money.

Overall, I felt that the cost performance in Fukuoka was not very good. Even though I made a Reservation six months in advance, I was guided to a slightly inconvenient annex. At check-in, after waiting for name confirmation at the front desk, I was further required to operate an automated machine. It seemed there was a slight lack of consideration from the guest's perspective. The bathhouse was spacious and allowed me to relax and enjoy my time comfortably.

Conveniently located within walking distance from Hakata Station.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance and close to a bus stop, offering flexible transportation options. It is also near Sumiyoshi Shrine, giving it a power spot-like atmosphere. I decided to walk from Hakata Station for check-in. The front desk staff behind the self-check-in machine kindly guided me through the process. Once you get used to it, you can check in using a QR code. The large public bath was excellent for relieving fatigue. For women, entering requires a PIN code for added security, ensuring safety measures are in place. Although the building is older and lacks elevator security systems, overall security feels reliable. I was looking forward to breakfast as I had heard it was delicious before—and it did not disappoint! The buffet included small plates of local specialties like "okyuto," mentaiko (spicy cod roe), udon noodles, and chicken rice (kashiwa gohan), perfectly showcasing Fukuoka's morning flavors. The staff worked efficiently to replenish items and provided clear explanations when needed—self-service with impeccable support. Check-out was smooth as well. Considering its reasonable distance from the station, accommodation cost, and quality of service, I would love to stay here again someday! Thank you very much!

    Bright and cheerful Hotel

Used for a business trip. The entrance has a lively atmosphere. Reception was pleasant and welcoming. Room size is average, but the bed was just right. This time, the window faced the wall of the neighboring building. There is a public bath, which is a plus. Amenities are fully provided in the room and sufficient. Hand soap and other items were good quality. Slightly distant from the station.

    The sound is incredible.

I stayed for two nights in a corner room on the 7th floor. The breakfast was delicious, and the large public bath was great, but... There were loud noises both days. Was it because the staff's private room was diagonally in front of my room? Or from the floor above? The noise continued throughout the night, making it too loud for my child to sleep properly.

    Second stay

This is my second stay, but there won't be a third. The reason is that the water tank of the humidifier was full of mold. The room I was guided to was still being cleaned with windows wide open at 8 PM, which is strange for check-in time. During my previous stay, water leaked into the guest room when using the bathroom in the room. There always seems to be some issue, so I’ve decided this will be my last stay here.

    Delicious local cuisine!

We stayed for 2 nights. The breakfast was varied for a Multiple Night Stay, allowing us to enjoy it without getting bored. The variety of dishes and seasoning were very satisfying. This year, we used other Hokke Club locations in different prefectures, but Fukuoka's was far more satisfying. Thank you very much!

Stayed in a twin room as a couple, but it felt a bit cramped for two people. The public bath was relatively spacious, and the women's area had good security, making it safe to use. Breakfast was full of local dishes and very delicious. The great breakfast made me decide to stay at this Hotel chain during my solo trips in the future.

Arrived early and planned to rest at the entrance, but the strong aroma scent was overwhelming. Tried to endure until check-in, but felt unwell and had to leave the Hotel to pass time elsewhere. For those not experiencing olfactory fatigue, it was an intense space. The Room itself had no smell, but I felt that staying at Hokke Club locations across the whole country might not be for me.

    Breakfast is filling.

I stayed for a total of 3 nights and 4 days, including an additional night. The breakfast menu was abundant, and I ended up eating too much because it was so delicious. The bath on the basement floor was also great. The staff greeted warmly and were very attentive in many aspects. I would love to stay here again when visiting Hakata.

The building is older, but it is well-cleaned and maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options and was very satisfying. We stayed in a triple Room for one night with three people. The size and Facility of the Room were fine, and the large public bath was nice, but as soon as we turned on the air conditioning, there was a strange smell. Since it was a cold day, we were torn between enduring the cold or the smell. The staff's service was not bad, as it was clear they were doing their best to accommodate us. It was convenient that there was a 24-hour coin parking lot about a 3-minute walk away.

    Days with events are challenging.

It was a pity that I couldn't use the meals and the large public bath due to the limited time of my stay. I would definitely like to use them next time. The lobby and, of course, the Room were clean. I was also grateful for being guided to an affordable parking lot.

Thank you very much for your great hospitality. I was moved by the warm-hearted Stays!

We stayed with my mother and husband, a total of three people. The triple room was spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable. The semi-onsen in the basement was clean, both the washing area and the bath, and we enjoyed it twice, at night and in the morning. The temperature was just right, and my onsen-loving mother was pleased. Additionally, the famous breakfast lived up to its reputation with a variety and deliciousness that made it hard to avoid overeating. Furthermore, after our stay, my husband developed a fever, and we borrowed a thermometer and ice pack. Thank you for your prompt and kind assistance. Although it was the day we were supposed to return home, we couldn't change our flight time, and we were worried about where my husband could rest. You kindly allowed us to use the room until just before the cleaning time, which was a great help. Thanks to your kindness, his fever subsided, and we were able to return home without stopping by the hospital. We are filled with gratitude for your warm-hearted response. I strongly wish to stay at Hokke Club (Hokke Kurabu) again when we travel somewhere. A hotel you can rely on in an emergency is truly reassuring. Thank you very much.
