    Although the rooms w...

    Although the rooms were said to have been renovated in 2025, was the unit bathroom left as it was? The odor was quite strong, the showerhead could not be fixed in the position I wanted, and it was disappointing to find hair left behind. During the night, I woke up several times due to people talking while walking down the hallway. Overall, it felt undeniably dated. The breakfast was delicious.

    A great Hotel where you can experience Niigata.

    The service was attentive, and it was a great Hotel. Above all, the breakfast was excellent. One issue: the Room hair dryer was a small model, and it became very hot quickly when used, which felt unsafe. The inside of the hair dryer was also full of dust, so that was the only disappointing point.

    A Business Hotel directly connected to Niigata Station. The Facility is not new overall, but the sink and bath in the Room I stayed in had been updated. The desk had enough space to work on a PC, so I could stay comfortably without stress. It was easy to see why the breakfast is so popular: there was an excellent variety, including local dishes that really made me feel like I was in Niigata, and I was very satisfied. I think this Hotel is convenient for both business and sightseeing.

    There were no issues...

    There were no issues with the Room itself. However, the neighboring guests were slamming their door, which was a bit bothersome and noisy. Also, some guests were talking in the hallway with their door left open, which was also noisy. Unfortunately, many guests did not have good manners.

    Highly satisfying

    Used an early-booking twin. Convenient with direct access to the station. The Facility and services are minimal but very well managed within that scope. The Room linens were very clean and felt great. Breakfast was sufficient for what was needed; if I start wishing for things like yukata robes or toothbrushes, there’s no end to it, but considering the location, price, and service, overall satisfaction was high.

    It was very convenient.

    Although it is close to the station, it is connected directly to the station building, so you can get around without getting wet even if it rains. The next day was very windy and cold, so I really appreciated that. Both check-in and check-out can be done at a machine, so there was no waiting time, which was great. The Hotel itself seems old, but the Facility and other features have been renovated, so I didn’t feel any particular inconvenience. I would like to stay here again when I visit Niigata.

    Excellent value-for-money Hotel

    For the price, the Room is spacious, the service is courteous, and everything is kept very clean—especially the breakfast, which offers many local dishes, a great variety of items, and tastes delicious. Overall, it’s a Hotel with excellent value for money. It’s also great that it’s just a short walk from the station.

    The guest rooms were...

    The guest rooms were renovated last year, including the bathrooms, and everything was overall very clean. Breakfast was as delicious as always. (It seems curry has been added to the menu.) It's convenient that the hotel is directly connected to the station, especially during the cold season.

    Comfortable Hotel Adjacent to the Station

    Although some time has passed since my stay, I wanted to leave a review because it left such a great impression. First of all, the location was excellent. Even before check-in time, I was able to leave my luggage and visit Bandai City for the first time in a while. After returning to the hotel, I enjoyed dinner and shopping at the station in the evening. The next morning, it was very convenient as the limousine bus stop for Niigata Airport was right nearby. I made this reservation knowing that this used to be part of the Kanpo no Yado chain, and it turned out to be a great choice. Perhaps because I am a member, my room was even upgraded—what a pleasant surprise! The room had been renovated in July and showed thoughtful design details with cleanliness and comfort throughout. Amenities were also well-prepared. I dined outside during my stay but noticed there is a Japanese restaurant inside with an appealing menu—I’d love to try it next time! There’s just one thing that caught my attention: while I easily found the hotel building itself, at first I ended up at its front near a bookstore where there were several steps leading up—a bit inconvenient when carrying heavy suitcases! Later on, I discovered there’s an exclusive entrance on another side of the hotel; perhaps adding an arrow sign pointing towards that entrance would help future guests avoid confusion? I would definitely love to stay here again!

    I stay at hotels nearly 100 nights a year. While this is not limited to hotels in Niigata, older accommodations can generally be categorized into three types: 1. Fully renovated with reasonable pricing 2. Partially renovated with unreasonable pricing 3. Not renovated but very affordable Among type 3, there are places that offer excellent services despite being far from the station, but unless your goal is to save on travel expenses for dining and drinking, these stays can often feel disappointing. However, rest assured that such accommodations are not listed on IKYU.com. Type 2 is often seen in traditional hotels where there’s a significant gap between reviews from business travelers and families staying during holidays. Since it’s difficult to meet the needs of such contrasting guest groups, business travelers may need to lower their expectations. Art Hotel falls under type 1 and is an excellent accommodation despite its older building age. It’s located away from the main road, ensuring a quiet environment for restful sleep. I believe all types of guests will be satisfied here. There are only two such recommended accommodations around Niigata Station, including this hotel. Highly recommended!

    Your Go-To Accommodation!

    Conveniently accessible from the station without worrying about the weather—wonderful! Enjoyed the breakfast-included plan with a buffet showcasing Niigata's specialties. The rice tasting was a uniquely Niigata experience. On the evening of arrival, we dined at the restaurant without a reservation and enjoyed sashimi and sake tasting. The spacious guest room provided a comfortable stay. Will definitely return!

    I stayed here for sightseeing in Niigata. The hotel is directly connected to the station, making access very convenient. Since there is no large public bath, I used the one in my Room. As an amenity, you can choose from three types of bath salts. Breakfast was served buffet-style, and I enjoyed unique Niigata dishes such as rice tasting, sasa dango (bamboo leaf-wrapped sweets), and "Italian," which is yakisoba topped with meat sauce. Compared to other tourist destinations, there were fewer foreign visitors, which seemed to contribute to the relatively affordable cost—a great help!

    The hotel is very close to the station, so you won't need an umbrella, which is a significant advantage. Considering the price, it seems reasonable; however, noise from the hallway was quite noticeable, and voices from some guests were rather loud.

    Breakfast is the best.

    The room is a bit small, but the breakfast is excellent. I was delighted to find Mikazuki Italian, a Niigata specialty. There is a wide variety of side dishes, and the small-sized sasa dango-like mochi was also delicious.

    No signs of renovation.

    Stayed in two single rooms for two nights with a friend to attend a live event. The description mentioned trying out newly renovated rooms, but they didn’t feel renovated—perhaps just the wallpaper was changed? Although it’s only May, the air conditioning was set to cooling only, and even when turned off, the room felt cold. My hands and feet remained chilly even under the covers. Most concerningly, the toilet was at an unprecedented level of uncleanliness for a Hotel. I tried to avoid looking at it while using it during my stay. If cleaning cannot resolve such stains, it might be time for replacement.

    Delicious breakfast provided

    We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed a variety of activities such as horse racing, professional baseball games, taking the ropeway up Mt. Yahiko, and visiting the aquarium via the sightseeing bus. The location near the station is very convenient for getting around anywhere. The spacious Room made our stay comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. Although I usually prefer Western-style meals, here I became a fan of rice dishes. In addition to their signature "tare-katsu," there are plenty of side dishes that go perfectly with rice. You can even enjoy sake tasting in the morning—it's like heaven for tourists! (laughs) The staff's cheerful announcement of "Freshly prepared [dish] has arrived!" when serving breakfast adds to the experience and makes you eager to eat it right away. I look forward to staying here again next year when I come back to watch Yokohama BayStars games. Thank you very much!

    The breakfast buffet was excellent.

    The breakfast buffet here is delicious, and I have used it several times. This time, I enjoyed comparing two types of rice, Uonuma Koshihikari and Shinnosuke, which is a rare opportunity. There were plenty of side dishes that paired well with the rice, as well as local specialties like Tare Katsu and Mikazuki's Italian-style dishes, which I appreciated being able to sample in small portions for breakfast. I stayed in a renovated Superior Twin Room, which was very convenient and equipped with a humidifying air purifier—a nice touch. It seems the Hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays? Unfortunately, we couldn't use it (the closing days were written in small letters on the hallway wall but were somewhat hard to notice; an elderly couple was also wandering in front of the dark restaurant). Check-out was at 11:00 AM; however, since we parked at Plaaka parking lot, additional charges applied after 10:00 AM. The location is excellent—directly connected to the station with a Junkudo bookstore downstairs!

    A conveniently located hotel in front of the station

    I stayed for one night with No Meals Included to participate in the marathon. Therefore, I am not sure about the meals (morning). Since the shuttle bus to the marathon venue departs from the same south exit, I didn't have to rush in the morning. There is nothing particularly noteworthy about the guest rooms, amenities, bathrooms, or Facility, but it is conveniently located with direct access to Niigata Station. On the other hand, the entrance from the first floor (ground floor) is difficult to find.

    Accommodation with delicious breakfast

    The staff was polite and it was very comfortable. The amenities, including cosmetics, were plentiful and nice. It was old but clean. The breakfast was delicious.

    Close to the station, with plenty of amenities, and above all, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast. If sightseeing is your main focus, this is the place to stay in Niigata.
