    It was conveniently located in the Tenmonkan arcade shopping street. The room was clean and functional, and the breakfast was good as well. I also felt that having some unique amenities—such as a large public bath, sauna, lounge, or late-night snack service—would make the stay even more comfortable.

    Spacious Guest Room

    I booked this Hotel for my first trip to Kagoshima. It is located inside the Tenmonkan arcade, making it convenient for getting anywhere. The Room was spacious and clean, and the property was very quiet. One minor point: the bathroom is a typical unit bath, so I would have preferred a separate toilet and a bit more space.

    I’ve stayed at various accommodations in Kagoshima City, but

    I don’t have a regular Hotel in the city and have stayed at many different ones, but considering the location (Tenmonkan) and the Facility, I felt it was very affordable for today’s standards. Even though it was inexpensive, it was clean, and while I didn’t have much interaction with the staff, I felt their service was sincere and professional, with a good sense of cleanliness.

    I like Richmond Hotel because the breakfast is delicious.

    When I stayed in Kochi for the first time, I thought the food was delicious, so I chose this accommodation again. It is conveniently located in the center of Tenmonkan.

    Sure to visit again!

    I stayed for 3 nights in a single non-smoking Room with breakfast included, and it was very comfortable. The breakfast featured Kagoshima specialties like grilled black pork, which were both visually appealing and delicious, allowing me to enjoy the taste of Kagoshima without needing to dine out. The Room was spacious, and despite being near the bustling Tenmonkan area, it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The location is also very convenient as a base for airport buses and other destinations. I will definitely stay here again!

    Was it recently renovated?

    Stayed at the accommodation after a long time. Check-in was done using a QR code sent to my smartphone, and the room seemed cleaner than before. The bathtub creaked a bit, but it was charming in its own way. Breakfast has improved significantly.

    Breakfast is amazing.

    During my stay, the breakfast system changed from a set meal to a buffet. Honestly, I chose this accommodation because of the set meal breakfast, so I initially felt disappointed about the change before my stay (as I'm not a fan of the bustling atmosphere of buffets). However, to conclude, even with the switch to a buffet style, breakfast was absolutely delightful. The menu was based on Japanese cuisine using ingredients from Kagoshima, and the chef grilled meat right in front of us. Dishes like shiraae and nimono were beautifully arranged in small plates for easy serving and had a gentle flavor. The breakfast alone is worth visiting for—completely satisfying. One slightly disappointing point was that the bed in my room wobbled quite noticeably; it would be good to have it inspected. All staff members were very pleasant and accommodating. Thank you!

    I always use this place when on a business trip to Kagoshima.

    The dining hall was under construction this time, so breakfast was unavailable. However, the hotel is conveniently located near Tenmonkan, and I always use it during business trips. The large desk is great for getting work done.

    Spacious and comfortable twin room

    It was disappointing that only smoking rooms were available for same-day reservations. The room was clean, but the smell was noticeable. Breakfast could be selected from the menu, and the taste was excellent. It would be helpful if staff asked about the rice portion in advance, as I tend to forget to request a smaller amount. The airport bus stop being nearby and under an arcade made it convenient and protected from rain.

    2 nights for a touring trip

    We visited with two motorcycles. When we inquired about parking space in advance, we were informed that we could park in the employee bike parking area. We were allowed to place our bikes in a covered parking area after being granted access through a locked service entrance. Given the central location in a bustling area, we were very grateful to be able to park within a secured, locked premises. During our two-night stay, we returned from touring, changed clothes, and headed straight to the arcade street for dinner and shopping... We enjoyed strolling around the city until late at night. The location, customer service, and the chicken rice breakfast were all extremely satisfying. We would love to stay again when we revisit Kagoshima.

    Service and rooms are generally good, but be cautious about the surroundings!

    We stayed with our family during the year-end holidays. As mentioned in the title, the hotel's service and rooms were generally excellent, and overall satisfaction with the accommodation was high. Although this was due to my lack of research, the hotel is located in Tenmonkan, the busiest downtown area in the prefecture. With easy access via airport buses, shopping options, and plenty of dining choices near the hotel, this location is a definite plus point for most travelers. However, for those staying with young children during year-end periods like us, we were surprised by how many young people gathered around certain areas near the hotel (especially in alleys between pachinko parlors and accommodations) after evening hours. Some displayed poor manners such as sitting on sidewalks or smoking and leaving cigarette butts behind—resulting in noticeable littering on nearby roads. For business use, this would not be an issue at all; however, traveling with children made me realize I should have researched more about these aspects beforehand. While there is no fault on part of the accommodation itself, I hope this information helps those considering their surroundings when choosing a location to stay.

    I was satisfied.

    I thought it was nice to be able to choose from several options for breakfast, like a set meal. For the first breakfast of my two-night stay, I chose the Bonito Set Meal, which was very delicious and I really liked it. For the next day's breakfast, I thought Kagoshima is known for its black pork, so I ordered the Black Pork Set Meal, which was also delicious and very satisfying. I would love to stay here again next time.

    The room was on the second floor with a building next to it, so no light came in through the window, making it dark even during the day. It's not so much about the hotel's rating, but the room wasn't good. The breakfast was good.

    Whenever I go to Tenmonkan, haha

    I always have a pleasant stay here. The internet environment is exceptionally good, and for those planning Zoom meetings, the "Business Concept Room" is recommended. It features a height-adjustable desk, a Herman Miller Aeron chair, an external monitor, a 40-inch LCD TV, and a 140cm wide double bed. Of course, the external monitor is about a 24-inch LCD and comes with an HDMI cable. It also includes a tablet stand and an LED stand light. If you bring an extra HDMI cable, you might be able to connect it to the LCD TV as well.
