    Limited hospitality

    I had to wait a very long time at check-in. No one even said, “Please wait,” so I had no choice but to leave my luggage on a chair away from the counter and keep standing in front of it. There wasn’t even a line of other guests checking in. I was simply kept waiting. There was also no explanation about the amenities or the elevator—nothing courteous at all. When I went to pick up amenities in the morning, there were none available (I don’t understand what that was about). The Room was very dry, and there was only one bottle of mineral water, not chilled. I was also told to turn on the refrigerator myself. Overall, I didn’t feel any sense of service and found the hospitality toward guests to be poor.

    New and clean

    Located just steps from Meitetsu Gifu Station, the Hotel is clean and well-maintained, likely because it is relatively new. The Room was spacious for a Business Hotel. However, the mattress and pillow were firm for my preference, causing discomfort in my back and head. Additionally, the thin blanket made it difficult to stay warm without increasing the air conditioning temperature. While this was disappointing for me personally, everything else about the Hotel was excellent.

    It was sufficient.

    I stayed here the night before work. Conveniently located near JR/Meitetsu stations, the Room was spacious enough for a one-night stay, and the bathroom was relatively large. The in-room trouser press was very useful. It was perfectly comfortable for business use.

    Miss Roomy

    I fell in love with Gifu.

    I had some business in Nagoya but decided to extend my trip here, and it was the right choice. The Hotel is conveniently located near Meitetsu Gifu Station, and parking is available at the adjacent Loft parking lot for 1,000 yen per night (application required at the front desk). I often choose Daiwa Roynet Hotels for their separate bath and toilet setup. In Gifu, only the Junior Suite offers a completely separate layout, so I opted for this Room. The Hotel seems to have been recently renovated and looks clean overall. Amenities are not provided in the Room but can be picked up on the first floor. Coffee, tea, and Japanese tea are available. Skincare products for women can be requested at the front desk. Bottled water is provided in the Room. The showerhead and hairdryer were from Refa; I wasn’t used to this type of hairdryer so found it slightly tricky to use! However, with a large bathtub, I could relax after my travels. Everything necessary was well-prepared in the Room without any dissatisfaction on my part. Having a convenience store on the first floor was also very convenient. I visited an izakaya and an Italian restaurant about 3-4 minutes away on foot—both were delicious! Being close to the station means there are plenty of dining options nearby as well. After checking out, I had breakfast at a café near the station but would like to try Hotel breakfast next time when I have more time to relax during my stay here again!

    Daiwa Roynet is a hotel chain I frequently use, and it consistently meets a high standard of satisfaction. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay this time as well. Thank you very much.

    Perfect in every way.

    I stayed here for the first time on the night of a performance far from home, and it was truly flawless. Especially the breakfast. Nowadays, even at places that seem like luxury hotels, meals are often cold or there’s no staff around to ask for help. But here, everything is perfect. The staff is always present, and as expected, hot dishes are served hot and cold ones cold—and they’re delicious too. Notably, they provide insulated paper cups with lids so you can take hot coffee or tea back to your Room. The dining area is non-smoking as expected; however, smoking guests can enjoy warm or cold drinks in their Room while having a cigarette. I was impressed by how fair this Hotel is to both smokers and non-smokers alike and felt grateful as a smoker myself. This is what hospitality should be like! I will definitely stay here again whenever I visit Gifu!

    Spotlessly clean

    The accommodation was incredibly clean, and having a FamilyMart on the first floor was very convenient. The staff were extremely polite, making my stay comfortable throughout. The food was delicious, especially the white rice cooked in a large pot—it was truly delightful. There were so many side dishes to choose from and plenty of options to accompany the rice. I could tell that someone really understands what guests want, which impressed me greatly. However, one issue I had was with the trays... I understand they are designed to prevent dishes from slipping off, but they felt sticky—perhaps due to wear or some coating? It made it hard for me to overlook this aspect and resulted in deducting one star from my rating; I apologize for that. Honestly, even without such measures, most adults wouldn’t drop their dishes on smooth trays anyway. Also, is red miso soup standard in Gifu? It would be nice if there were an option for white miso soup—even instant ones dissolved in hot water would do! Though I suppose I could just buy it at FamilyMart (laughs). No matter how many times I visit Gifu, red miso soup doesn’t suit my taste... (Perhaps people who love red miso don’t stay at hotels in Gifu?) Thank you for accommodating multiple night stays without cleaning service—it made my stay truly comfortable! (It’s not about cleaning itself; I just prefer not having anyone enter my room.) The cleanliness and exceptional customer service here are outstanding—I even downloaded the hotel’s app because of this experience. In the future, it would be great if rooms with separate bath and toilet facilities became available. This gives me high expectations for other locations as well! (However, using the app felt inconvenient when selecting accommodation plans since you can’t view room photos beforehand—you’re immediately prompted to choose a hotel. While I’m not expecting IKYU.com-level quality here, being able to see selection criteria would help a lot. For instance: although I wanted to stay in Nagoya too, there wasn’t enough information available so I hesitated.)

    It looks like a big window, but...

    When I opened the curtains, the window was only half-sized. Oversized curtains were just a fake-out. To make it worse, the view was of the back alley of the neighboring building—felt like a prison. I thought I paid a little extra to upgrade, but it was disappointing.

    Spacious Room, it was great.

    This was my first stay at Daiwa Roynet. The room was spacious, allowing me to relax comfortably. I didn't think I needed a massage chair, but it turned out to be very pleasant. From now on, Daiwa Roynet will be my top choice if available at my travel destinations. Thank you for the great experience!

    Breakfast and Parking

    The Rooms and Facilities are excellent. However, the breakfast is not very cost-effective. The content is on the same level as free breakfasts offered at Route Inn, Dormy Inn, or Kuretake hotels. The Ochazuke Bar is unique, but unfortunately, the seaweed provided is flavored seaweed (the kind that comes in packets with breakfast), which does not match well with ochazuke at all. As for parking, while it usually costs 1,400 yen, it becomes 1,000 yen here. However, the adjacent parking lot already charges 1,000 yen and is more convenient as it’s closer to the road. Therefore, there’s no sense of value here. Perhaps conducting a price survey of nearby parking lots and offering even a 100-yen discount could create a better sense of value?

    A trip before your birthday

    The accommodation seems to have been renovated since my visit in September 2023, and the rooms were all clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was also clean, though it felt like there were slightly too many frozen food options. The location is convenient, and considering the price, it might be reasonable.

    Stayed in Gifu for the first time.

    Located just steps from Meitetsu Gifu Station, making it easy to find. The hotel staff were kind and provided attentive service, leaving a positive impression. The room and bathtub were spacious, allowing for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options; however, the seasoning was strong, and the quality could be improved. Aside from the meals, everything else was truly excellent. Thank you for your hospitality. I would love to stay here again when visiting Gifu.

    As expected from Daiwa Roynet Hotel, the cleanliness and spaciousness are of an exceptionally high standard, unmatched by other hotels. Last time, I chose a plan without breakfast; this time, I opted for a plan with breakfast. The breakfast quality was comparable to that of Kuretake Inn, Route Inn, Dormy Inn, etc., where breakfast is typically included. However, it did not justify the additional cost for the meal. Therefore, my rating for the food is 3 stars. Next time, I plan to choose a plan without breakfast. That said, the freshly cooked white rice was delicious.

    The massage chair was excellent.

    It was a Standard Twin Room, and to my surprise, there was a massage chair in the room. I could enjoy a thorough massage and felt completely refreshed. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious.

    A very clean and wonderful Hotel.

    The room was clean and comfortable to stay in. At check-in, payment is made using a QR code on the terminal. When guests are unfamiliar with the process, it can cause a line of waiting guests to form quickly. Staff members are stationed near the payment machines to assist such guests, but perhaps the process could be made more efficient?

    Room Type: Leave it to Us - Room Only Plan

    Stayed with a Room Type Omakase, No Meal Plan. The room assigned was a barrier-free twin bed. The room was very spacious and had a clean feel. The Wi-Fi speed was fast. When I woke up in the morning, it was snowing contrary to the weather forecast. Since there was a McDonald's two doors down, I placed a mobile order and brought it back to the room for breakfast. Sugakiya, a Nagoya specialty, was also next to the Hotel. Although it was snowing, from the Hotel to JR Gifu Station there were arcades except at intersections, so there were no worries about snow.

    Hair

    Upon entering the Room and opening the bathroom for handwashing, I found a lot of hair on the sink. I was so shocked that I screamed for the first time in a while. It was scary and disgusting, and I felt like throwing up, so I called the front desk, but despite their response of "We'll be right there," no one came... When I sat on the bed, there was more hair there too... I wasted a lot of time and felt terrible. I might just be overly sensitive, but I spent my time feeling uneasy. It's sad because I trusted the Daiwa Roynet Group. I had the impression it was a high-end line among business hotels.

    Disappointed with the breakfast.

    The room was clean and comfortable, which was nice. However, the breakfast the next morning was the worst. When I went at 7 o'clock, the side dishes were leftovers. (Five pieces of fish, a small amount of scrambled eggs in the corner.) Everything was left uncovered, cold, and unappetizing. Unhygienic. I made do with red miso soup and rice. When I tried to pour tea from the pot, nothing came out. When I informed the staff that it might be empty, they started preparing it from there. Naturally, I had to wait. Used dishes were left on the table for over 30 minutes, and this was the case everywhere. There were only two staff members, and I had to eat in a disorganized environment. Disappointing.

    Breakfast is average.

    The location was very good, with the station nearby, making it convenient. Although previous reviews had often rated the breakfast poorly, it was said that the provider had changed, and it was average. However, when asked if it was a satisfying breakfast, it was just average. The room was very calm and nice, with no complaints.

    Isn't it one of the better ones in this class of Hotel in every aspect? I wondered why the style of taking amenities from the lobby, but there was no problem. The location was just right, and the Room was clean. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Clean and convenient

    FamilyMart on the first floor, bus stop nearby, and less than a 10-minute walk to Gifu Station make it a very convenient location. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. I would like to use it again.
