    We stayed for two ni...

    We stayed for two nights while sightseeing in Matsumoto and visiting Kamikochi. The location is convenient. We chose it because we wanted a Japanese-style Room with a separate bath and toilet. We accidentally booked a smoking Room, but they promptly changed it to a non-smoking Room at check-in. The Room was spacious, and we were able to relax on the modern tatami flooring. However, finding hair left in the bathroom was unpleasant, so better cleaning would have made it even better. This is a Hotel we would consider staying at again.

    I stayed here for business, and the location was extremely convenient—close to the station with many restaurants nearby. The room was neat and clean, making my stay very comfortable. The front desk staff were very kind and left a great impression. If I visit Matsumoto again, I would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much.

    I wanted to wear a kimono, so…

    I wanted to wear a kimono with my friends, so having a Room where we could step onto the floor was very helpful. Also, the front desk kindly stored our luggage and called a taxi for us when we were leaving, so I’m truly glad we stayed here. Thank you very much.

    Overall, it’s OK.

    Satisfied overall. However, the bathroom lighting should be a bit brighter (it’s too dark and makes shaving difficult). Not good as an Onsen Ryokan, but OK as a regular Hotel.

    The multi-story park...

    The multi-story parking garage right next door was very convenient. Great location—just a 1–2 minute walk to the downtown area. Check-in via the QR code sent in advance was also great. The only thing I’d like improved is the toothbrush amenity.

    Perfect for your stay in Matsumoto!

    We stayed at this Accommodation during our trip to Matsumoto as a couple. We were told that a larger Room than the one we had reserved was available, so we ended up staying there at short notice. The Room was clean and very comfortable. The unit bath was also very clean and well maintained. In the morning, we had a buffet at Gusto on the first floor. It was a fun experience—having a buffet at Gusto isn’t something you get to do very often. The food was delicious, and we ate plenty. When we stay in Matsumoto again, we would definitely like to use this Accommodation again.

    It was conveniently located near Matsumoto Station, with convenience stores and other amenities nearby. I stayed here again after a long time and was satisfied with Richmond’s service. I would like to use it again when I travel to Matsumoto on business.

    Very comfortable.

    It was the Ladies Plan. At the front desk, I received a mini set of Jill Stuart shampoo, treatment, and shower gel. In the Room, there was a large TV and a clean bed, and even the lighting could be adjusted with a stylish device. The loungewear with gold trim was lovely. The amenities were great too—you can choose items like lotion, plus bath salts, face masks, and drip coffee. If you get hungry, you can go directly to Gusto. I’m glad I chose this Hotel.

    Autumn Leaves and Gourmet Tour in Matsumoto

    We booked three Rooms for six seniors, including a 101-year-old. The Rooms were spacious and clean! The bed firmness was just right. It might be a bit high for those with mobility issues, but the front desk staff provided very courteous service. We would love to visit again.

    We initially booked a smoking Room, but we were kindly upgraded to a spacious non-smoking Room. It was very comfortable, and we truly appreciate it. A larger Room definitely enhances the comfort level. The location is excellent, being close to Matsumoto Castle and with delicious restaurants right in front or on the 3rd floor of the building across the intersection. The convenience of the location always ensures a pleasant stay for us.

    The room lighting can be fully turned on, making it bright. The bed had a soft mattress and was very comfortable to sleep on!

    Excellent service

    Luggage storage before check-in and after check-out was incredibly helpful! It saved us the hassle of looking for lockers and allowed us to enjoy sightseeing hands-free. Thank you so much. The abundance of sofas at the front desk was also a nice touch. The variety of amenities to choose from and the spacious bed were great as well. However, the lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim; it would have been better if it were brighter.

    Gusto

    There is a Gusto on the first floor, and breakfast is served at their morning buffet. Surprisingly, only four Gusto locations in Japan offer a morning buffet, and the rest are all in Tokyo. It was truly a unique experience. Being Richmond, of course, the Hotel was excellent as well!

    It was a good Hotel.

    I mistakenly reserved a smoking room instead of a non-smoking room, but when I mentioned it at the front desk, they quickly checked availability and switched me to a non-smoking room. I was very happy with their prompt response. I stayed in a room where the bath, toilet, and sink were all separate. Although I was initially surprised that the dressing area was only partitioned by a curtain in one corner of the room, it turned out to be no problem at all and the spacious bathroom was excellent. The hotel's recommended lighting for sleeping felt too bright for me, so I left only the light near the entrance on and turned off all other lights before going to bed. There were plenty of outlets around the room which was very convenient. The TV had an impressively large screen and was easy to watch while lying down—great feature! Breakfast was served at Gusto restaurant; it followed a typical buffet style with nothing particularly outstanding or disappointing about it. Overall, it's a clean and nice Hotel. I'd love to stay here again!

    It seems there are non-smoking rooms available, but at the time of reservation, only smoking rooms could be booked. As a non-smoker, the smell of tobacco was quite strong. The air purifier helped when used at full power to manage the situation. In this day and age, having many smoking rooms is concerning. Please consider addressing the tobacco odor embedded in walls and furnishings and converting all rooms to non-smoking ones.

    Smoking Room

    I accidentally reserved a smoking room and requested a change, but unfortunately, it was fully booked and could not be changed. As soon as I got off the elevator on the 9th floor, the smell of cigarettes filled the hallway and reached the room. The smell also came through the bathroom ventilation fan. The room was clean and very satisfying, but the strong odor was quite disappointing.

    Spacious enough for a Business Hotel.

    What impressed me during my second stay at a Richmond Hotel, following my visit to the Richmond Hotel in Hakata, was the spaciousness of the guest rooms. This time, we stayed in a Standard Double room for two people. In addition to the desk and chair by the window, there was also a side table and round stool, which were convenient for having breakfast or doing makeup together. The room was impeccably clean, making our stay very comfortable. Amenities can be picked up as needed from next to the front desk, and check-out is easily done via a machine. It’s a hotel that makes me want to stay at another Richmond Hotel again someday!

    I made a mistake with the Reservation.

    The Hotel was comfortable and conveniently located, which was satisfying. However, I mistakenly booked a non-smoking Room. Although I used an air purifier and fabric freshener, the smell remained... It even triggered my allergies. I hope there will be more non-smoking Rooms available in the future. Smoking should only be allowed in designated smoking Rooms nowadays...

    First Time in Richmond

    We stayed for two nights in Matsumoto as a base for sightseeing in Kamikochi and Utsukushigahara Highlands. When we were confused with the self-check-in machine at check-in, the staff quickly assisted us, which was very helpful. Additionally, due to my mistake, I reserved a smoking room and noticed the smell upon entering. Although I used an air freshener spray to address it, it ran out quickly. When I requested a replacement at the front desk, they kindly provided not only a new spray but also a larger one. Thanks to this thoughtful gesture, we had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much! Next time we visit Matsumoto, we would like to make a reservation at Richmond Hotel again.

    Located in the heart of Matsumoto City, it's conveniently within walking distance to both Matsumoto Station and Matsumoto Castle. It was a reliable stay at Richmond Hotel. Simple, compact, clean, and comfortable. Thank you very much. I would love to stay here again when visiting Matsumoto.

    The Room is spacious.

    The Twin Room was spacious and comfortable. Amenities were available next to the front desk for guests to take as needed, and all essentials were provided. The bathroom was neither too large nor too small, with a big and deep bathtub that was very nice. However, the sink was small with no space to place items, so I had to use the desk in the room instead. The hairdryer was stored under the desk. Body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were placed next to the bathtub. I chose a breakfast-included plan, and it was interesting that breakfast was served at Gusto located below the Hotel. Being a family restaurant, it had spacious seating and felt comfortable overall. The menu included local dishes like Sanzoku-yaki (fried chicken) and Oyaki (stuffed dumplings). Additionally, I enjoyed having a view of the Northern Alps from my room!

    Very kind, attentive, and clean.

    We stayed here after the Nagano Marathon. We booked 2 rooms for 2 people but mistakenly chose smoking rooms, which was our error. However, the rooms were very clean, and the amenities were provided in a buffet-style format at check-in, offering a wide variety. The staff at the front desk were polite and made the check-in process very pleasant. The room was extremely comfortable, and we would love to stay here again when visiting Matsumoto.

Breakfast was a buffet at the family restaurant on the 1st floor, offering a variety of Japanese and Western dishes, which was satisfying.     I Love Travelling

    Convenient and clean Hotel

    Close to the station and dining areas, within walking distance to the tourist attraction Matsumoto Castle, making it very convenient. The Room is simple but clean and absolutely no issues. Breakfast is a buffet at the adjacent Gusto restaurant, and the variety was satisfying. Highly recommended for everyone!
