    Courteous service

We had a wonderful time. Due to the heavy rain, the Onsen source stopped, so it was disappointing that we couldn’t use the in-room bath. However, we received a courteous message in advance, and your responses throughout our communication were very polite, so we were able to stay without any issues. Although we couldn’t use the in-room bath, giving 1 star would lower your rating too much, so with hopes for next time I’m giving 5 stars. I would like to visit again once the Onsen is restored. As a personal request, I’d like to mention two points for improvement. First, regarding the hanging light in the center of the Room: even when it was on, it felt dim. If you could replace it with one that allows brightness adjustment or switch to a brighter LED light, I think it would be more comfortable. Second, when walking from the parking area to the entrance, there were multiple nests of what looked like horseflies on the ground. There were many of them around and it made entering and leaving the building difficult. Since this is an important pathway for guests, it would be better to remove the nests or take some kind of countermeasure.

    The comfort of home

Although it is a small Accommodation, everything was clean and comfortable. They kept in touch frequently, and the service was excellent. Thank you for sending my forgotten item to me. I would like to stay again.

This Accommodation reflects thoughtful attention to every detail.

In early July during the rainy season, four of us visited by car from Tokyo and stayed for two nights. The location was convenient, with Shinshu soba restaurants, the Daio Wasabi Farm in Azumino, and museums nearby. We bought fresh local vegetables, meat, and sake at a roadside station and at Super Tsuruya, then enjoyed making dinner together. It was also nice to relax on floor cushions at the low table rather than a dining table. On the second day we decided to head to Kamikochi. The mountains were hidden by rain, but we hiked through beautiful nature all the way to the sacred Myojin Pond. At night, soaking in the Onsen water in the hinoki bath soothed our tired legs. The next morning, we toasted apple pie from Nishitoya Sanso’s shop in Kamikochi and took our time enjoying it with the provided specialty coffee while looking out at the garden. Despite the rain, this Accommodation gave us a rich getaway we could never have in Tokyo—an extremely satisfying stay with friends! On our way home we stopped by Setsuro Takahashi Memorial Museum (about 15 minutes away by car); both the architecture and exhibits were wonderful, as was the garden—highly recommended.

We had a great time with our kids.

We stayed this time as a family of five (2 adults and 3 children). Our toddler was able to stay comfortably with Child Sharing Existing Bedding. During our stay there were some periods of light rain, but the garden is spacious and the kids happily ran around and played. Because it’s located within a villa area, there’s little traffic, and we felt reassured being able to watch them safely in the garden on the property. Toys such as Othello were also provided, so even after returning to the Room, the children enjoyed themselves without getting bored. There were bear bells for going out and mosquito coils available, which we actually used when playing in the garden and going for walks. We appreciated these thoughtful touches that come from an Accommodation surrounded by nature. Above all, the Onsen was outstanding. The fact that it is free-flowing from the source is already very appealing, but the Kiso hinoki bathtub exceeded our expectations. The moment you enter the bath area, the scent of hinoki fills the air and feels truly luxurious. We’ve stayed at many Onsen accommodations before, but this was our first time experiencing a hinoki bath where we could enjoy such a rich aroma. For sightseeing, we drove toward Kamikochi while enjoying views along the mountain foothills, and on our way back—about five minutes by car—we stopped at a well-maintained stream where the kids had fun playing barefoot in the water. It felt like an easy-to-use location as a base for exploring Kamikochi and Azumino. This is an Accommodation I can recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy sightseeing while relaxing at their stay, as well as for family trips with small children. We’d love to visit again in another season.

Recommended for families with children and for breakfast.

We stayed in late June during the lush green rainy season as a family of three (two adults and one toddler). When you arrive, a lovely front garden welcomes you. The property is in a calm area, so you can enjoy a quiet, relaxing time. Because this is an unmanned property, we initially thought online check-in might be inconvenient, but everything—including check-in and check-out—went smoothly. If you feel uneasy about online check-in, I recommend carefully reviewing the property website and the guidance email sent after your Reservation. The most memorable part of our stay was the handmade-looking guest guidebook. Even without face-to-face service due to the unmanned operation, it conveys the owner’s warm personality. The carefully selected amenities were also excellent—especially the pajamas and slippers. I liked them so much that I even wrote down notes because I’d want to use them privately as well. Another highlight was making breakfast ourselves. It features local real wasabi, and preparing it on our own is just the right amount of effort while also feeling like a special experience. Grating wasabi isn’t something we do in everyday life, so it felt truly unique—like getting a small taste of local living—and it was fun. And because it’s delicious, we had a wonderful morning. As for what kept my rating at four stars: we struggled with adjusting the temperature of the Onsen water (the source is 55°C). If you plan to use it, I recommend checking and adjusting the water level frequently. A long stirring paddle for mixing would make managing the water much easier. Also, there are not many restaurants or grocery options nearby. We bought basic food and drinks in advance; for dinner we made a Reservation at a restaurant we had picked out beforehand and took a taxi after parking our car at the property. I recommend planning your meal arrangements ahead of time. We arranged taxis after arrival; since GO isn’t available in this area, we called two local taxi companies—one couldn’t dispatch a car, but the second arrived about 20 minutes after our call. If you have any questions during your stay, the “House Guide AI” on the property website is excellent and worth using—it can suggest kid-friendly spots as well. We also used it to look up taxi information. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to stay again with our family in another season.
