    We stayed here as tw...

We stayed here as two couples (four guests). What impressed us first was the ocean view filling the windows and the irori hearth at the center of the open, airy space. Throughout our stay, we were able to relax and enjoy a luxurious time while gazing at the beautiful sea. We also compared it with photos of Hiire in the same Izu Kogen area, and we preferred FUTO for its bright-toned interior and greater sense of openness. For meals, we ordered one set for four people and supplemented it with ingredients from “Nagaya,” a supermarket near Izu Kogen Station, and “Yamamo Plaza” inside the station. Grilling the set’s meat and dried fish indoors over the irori was a unique experience—different from a typical outdoor BBQ—and it was wonderful to enjoy it comfortably without worrying about weather or time. We also appreciated that smoke was well ventilated around the irori area, so neither smoke nor odors bothered us. We had heard that the sauna’s maximum temperature setting is on the lower side, so we were worried it might feel insufficient. However, once we did self löyly, the heat built up quickly and we were able to sweat thoroughly—more than what the displayed temperature suggested. Being able to enjoy self löyly at our own pace without worrying about others was great, and the sauna stove had an iconic design you don’t often see in typical sauna facilities—an irresistible space for sauna lovers. Also, since I like soaking in a bath after a sauna session, having an indoor bath was a big plus (and it’s Onsen!). The amenities were well stocked. Personally, I loved how comfortable and relaxing the bedding materials felt. With its views, irori hearth, sauna, and Onsen, this Accommodation offered an exceptional escape from everyday life. We all agreed we’d love to come back again—and we definitely hope to stay here again.

    The Ultimate Vacation Experience

Stayed with friends in mid-June. The sauna felt a bit low in temperature, but we could do our own löyly, and the aroma was great—we really enjoyed it. It was the rainy season, but cooling off outside on a rainy day actually felt amazing! We didn’t order any BBQ meals, but we shopped at a nearby supermarket and still had more than enough to enjoy. At full occupancy, it comes out to under ¥10,000 per person—an incredible deal! It was an amazing experience. We’ll be back!

We had a comfortable stay with 5 adults and 2 children!

Hiire Futo was an extraordinary, non-everyday retreat, with truly beautiful interiors and Facilities and a breathtaking view overlooking the distant sea. I’ve stayed in private villas and Vacation Rental homes before, but they often still felt somewhat like everyday life—making it hard to fully unwind. This time was completely different. In particular, the layout that lets you enjoy authentic charcoal grilling while relaxing on a spacious sofa—without even stepping out onto the terrace—was exceptional. Unlike typical BBQs where someone ends up stuck at the grill, we could all gather around the fire and enjoy our meal together at an unhurried pace. The meal set provided was delicious, and combined with the snacks and vegetables we brought ourselves, we were thoroughly satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. While the adults enjoyed food and wine at a relaxed pace, the children could lounge on the carpeted raised area, read picture books, or draw—everyone coexisted comfortably in the same space. The design is very well thought out in this regard. Also, because the bedrooms are on the first floor while the living/dining area is on the second floor, even after putting the kids to bed we could still enjoy adult time without worrying too much about our volume. Even when staying at large Accommodations with kids’ play areas, you still tend to worry during playtime or meals about whether your children are bothering others—and sometimes end up having to scold them for being too loud. With this private rental home-style stay, there was absolutely no need for that kind of concern. My brother and his wife who joined us also said it was far more relaxing than going to a large Accommodation. We would love to stay again. Thank you for such a wonderful space!

Thank you for your prompt response as the typhoon approached! This Accommodation satisfied both children and adults.

In the last week of June, we stayed for one night with a total of seven people, including my sister’s family (three preschool children). Unfortunately, a typhoon was forecast for our stay, and until the day before we weren’t sure we’d be able to travel. The owner quickly consulted with us in advance about what to do if getting there became difficult, which gave us great peace of mind. On the day, we managed to make it to the property, and they even kindly arranged an earlier-than-usual check-in so we could avoid the rain as much as possible. Their prompt and thoughtful support—always from the guest’s perspective—was truly reassuring for those of us traveling with small children. The Accommodation was extremely clean and spacious enough for the kids to run around freely—they were thrilled from the moment we arrived. The carefully chosen furnishings and interior design were very comfortable, and even the view of Izu’s lush greenery through the windows—rain dripping down outside—felt beautiful. What impressed us most were the meals and the sauna. For dinner, we enjoyed an irori-style grill using lava stone. The meat and fish cooked slowly and evenly (the filet in particular, along with fresh seafood, was outstanding), and grilling everything ourselves was part of the fun. With a large living room that includes both a dining area and a raised seating space, adults could relax with food and drinks while keeping an eye on the kids as they played. The sauna was spacious enough for 2–3 adults to sit comfortably. With löyly it heated up properly, delivering what was easily the most refreshing experience among all private saunas we’ve tried. On top of that, we were able to enjoy a luxurious free-flowing natural hot spring Onsen inside as well—it completely melted away our everyday fatigue. Even with a large group and young children, everything felt effortless; it’s an excellent design that has clearly been thought through down to every detail so guests can stay comfortably. Personally, I didn’t feel it was overpriced at all—in fact, considering how luxurious and out-of-the-ordinary it felt, this Accommodation offered great value. We are sincerely grateful to the owner for helping us create wonderful memories even under unusual circumstances like a typhoon. We would love to return in another season with our family again.

A private villa of the highest caliber—featuring an irori hearth, sauna, and exceptional space.

We stayed with a total of seven guests—five adults and two young children—and everyone was able to relax comfortably throughout our stay. The luxurious, open layout was truly impressive, never once feeling cramped even with this many people. True to the “self auberge” concept, shopping for fresh local ingredients and taking our time cooking them over the lava stone hearth was an exceptional experience. It wasn’t just about cooking—we enjoyed a truly indulgent time gathered around the fire, relaxing and chatting at our own pace. The private sauna was also outstanding; after reaching peak relaxation, the panoramic view of the town from the elevated terrace was breathtaking. The interior design, amenities, and tableware were all thoughtfully curated down to the smallest details, making it feel like one night simply wasn’t enough. Both adults and children were completely satisfied, and we will definitely be back again.

Enjoy your stay in East Izu

We stayed over the weekend of 6/13–14 with my wife and child, along with my parents (two households). Luckily we avoided the rainy season weather, but we got caught in an accident-related traffic jam on the Tomei Expressway and checked in at 4:00 PM. It’s unmanned, but you can check in on your smartphone in advance, so everything went smoothly. From the spacious dining area with an irori hearth, you can see the ocean and Oshima Island—it’s very relaxing. The raised seating area and balcony were also great. For dinner, we reserved sashimi at Kanamoto Fresh Fish Shop nearby, and also picked up fresh fish and dried fish for breakfast. Everything else we bought at Tokyu Store. They have a full set of tableware plus basic seasonings, foil, and plastic wrap—so as long as you buy ingredients, you can enjoy cooking over the irori. The smoke is well controlled by design, so odors weren’t an issue. You can also purchase craft beer and wine from the on-site wine cellar via PayPay, which was a fun touch. The bath comes with a sauna; our child especially enjoyed it. We did loyly with scented water as well. One of the best parts of a private villa is having spacious bedrooms—we ate well, drank well, slept well. The next day we visited Izu Horse Country in the morning to interact with horses, then enjoyed Shaboten Zoo together as a family. Shaboten Zoo is large enough to take all day to explore properly, so if you’re thinking of visiting other places too, I think staying two nights or more would be ideal.

The view from the Room was spectacular at this Accommodation.

We stayed with six people, and the living room and bedrooms were spacious and spotless, so we were comfortable throughout our stay. We made a Reservation after hearing we could do an indoor BBQ, and choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision. It lights with a single switch, there’s no smell, it stays cool with air conditioning, and we could watch sports on the projector— I was amazed that a BBQ could be this comfortable. The sauna also got very hot, and the natural scenery visible from the relaxation area was wonderful, so I can truly recommend this Accommodation. Our kids were extremely happy as well, so we’d love to stay again in winter.

It was perfect for relaxing with the family.

We stayed as a family of five, inviting our parents along as well. The place was very clean and spacious, and the large second-floor windows offered a wonderful ocean view. With its sophisticated design, it felt like an extraordinary stay, and the kids had a great time running around. One request: there were various cooking appliances and electronic devices indoors, but we didn’t know how to use them and had to look things up online ourselves. We would have been even more satisfied if the in-room instructions were more detailed—for example, by providing QR codes that link to explanatory videos. We also loved waking up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony and relaxing on the sauna chair while listening to birdsong. We’d love to stay again.

    I don’t want to go home…

We stayed for one night at the end of May with two families (including children). The moment we opened the door, the kids went wild over how huge the house was! The adults headed up the stairs to the living room… and were left speechless by the breathtaking ocean view through the windows. “Wow!!!” It instantly lifted our spirits. The L-shaped living room sofa surrounding the fireplace (nice and firm!) was unbelievably comfortable, and the living room filled with evening sunlight was just perfect. I don’t usually go to saunas, but this sauna felt truly amazing. They even had sauna-specific aromatherapy, and it refreshed both body and mind—I ended up going in again and again. Sauna to cold plunge, then outdoor air bathing… absolute bliss! Every Facility detail was thoughtfully chosen—no corners cut. From appliances and cooking tools to amenities. Even better: the incense provided was an original item from a Kobe interior shop where I’d recently bought something myself, and it happened to be a scent I love—such a nice touch. I also loved the book selection, and they even had slipware tableware… impressive. In the living room, we watched live performances on the projector, while us adults relaxed with drinks—and ended up drinking a bit too much… It felt like such a waste to go to sleep, so we stayed up late (lol). Breakfast in that sunlit living room in the morning was also incredible, and everyone went into “we don’t want to leave” mode! One night isn’t enough… We didn’t want to go home… Such a wonderful Accommodation!! We’d love to stay again. Thank you so much. One small request: it would be great if there were large glasses for highballs.

    It was a wonderful facility!

We stayed with 4 adults and 4 children. The large living room with a full ocean view and the spacious, thoughtfully designed kitchen were truly easy to use, and we were able to enjoy a comfortable, fulfilling stay without the usual hassles that can come with this kind of trip. We ordered the optional meals. We cooked rice early, and the kids happily ate takikomi gohan along with fish and meat grilled over the lava irori. After dinner, the children played together on the raised tatami area while the adults relaxed and enjoyed their meal while keeping an eye on them. Thanks to the spacious living room plus both a dining area and a raised seating/play area, we felt even multiple generations could spend time together comfortably. Both the meat and fish were delicious, but the Izu fish fillet was truly outstanding—we’d love to have it again. For breakfast, there were 3–4 types of packaged bread, jam, sausages, and mandarin orange juice (absolutely excellent!). In addition, we brought our own sausages, three kinds of fruit, eggs, yogurt, and sliced bread. The kids especially loved grilling toast over the irori and ate plenty. There was also a generous stock of quality coffee beans. We ground them each time and made coffee—I think we had about 4–5 cups during our 1-night/2-day stay. In particular, having coffee on the terrace while enjoying a relaxed breakfast in between moments when the kids were watching movies in the living room was truly wonderful. The beds were spacious and amenities well provided. The bath was also great—we could enjoy free-flowing Onsen until midnight—and there was an excellent sauna as well. Even those who joined late at night said they were able to fully recover from their fatigue. The outdoor cool-down after the sauna felt especially refreshing. It isn’t cheap price-wise; however, when traveling with children you often have to worry about disturbing others or end up stressed by an inadequate kitchen setup. This property is very well designed in those respects, making it perfect for stays with friends’ families or multi-generational groups.

FUTO was an Accommodation where the views, the space, and the overall stay experience were all memorable—truly a special place to spend time. What impressed me first was the view from the large living-room windows. You can take in the ocean and Izu Oshima at a glance, and as the scenery changes throughout the day, conversation naturally slows down and becomes more relaxed. The sunken sofa area around the irori hearth was also incredibly cozy, and simply spending time together there became one of our favorite travel memories. The interior is unified in soft, gentle tones, beautifully balanced with the furniture and lighting, making it a pleasure to look at throughout the stay. Thoughtful design choices are evident even in small details, and just being in the space felt calming. The Onsen bath and sauna facilities are excellent as well—and pleasantly spacious. Since they’re designed to be enjoyed together while wearing swimwear, we were able to share a relaxing time with family and friends. Soaking slowly while looking up at the sky is truly exceptional. The cider and sake prepared in the wine cellar were also delicious and made our stay even more satisfying. We didn’t get around to trying everything this time, but next time I’d love to enjoy some wine too—and stay longer at an even more leisurely pace. I highly recommend this Accommodation for anyone who values beautiful views, a well-designed space, and quality time spent together. P.S. We traveled with a family member who has partial paralysis; with assistance from a caregiver, we were able to stay comfortably thanks to restrooms on each floor as well as spacious bathroom and entry areas. They were able to relax with us in the living room for long stretches of time and seemed very satisfied. (Note: There are stairs; this property is not barrier-free.)

    You can relax here.

The property is located in a quiet residential/villa neighborhood. From the second-floor lounge, you can see the ocean and enjoy a wonderful view. The kitchen is very well equipped, and having familiar BALMUDA appliances was much appreciated. The bathroom amenities are also high quality and plentiful. The sauna only heats up to 80°C, but it is very easy to use. Personal requests: - It would be great if sauna robes and sauna hats were provided. - Since there is an Onsen and a sauna, having multiple bath towels would be preferable.
