    An elegant moment that makes you forget about the moths.

    The Room was very clean, and we were able to stay comfortably throughout our visit. The OSAJI amenities were also pleasant, and the fragrance that filled the entire Room left a strong impression. I also found it appealing that we could use a sauna at this price point. On the other hand, there were a few concerns. A large insect got into the Room when we entered, and at night more than 10 long-legged insects gathered around the entrance light. Insect spray was provided, but I didn’t want to sleep in the Room after using it in such a spacious area, so I chose not to use it. Given the location, some insects are probably unavoidable, but additional pest-control measures beyond insect spray would make guests feel more at ease. Also, there was limited signage on the mountain road leading to the Facility, so we used a nearby Exiv sign as our guide. More SANU signs would make it easier for first-time visitors to find their way. In addition, since the entrance area is somewhat compact, it may feel a bit tight when used by multiple people. Overall, it was a wonderful Facility where we could relax comfortably in nature. With small improvements in these areas, I think future stays would be even more satisfying.

    This was my third st...

    This was my third stay at SANU Tateshina. It’s always amazing, and this time was amazing too! I used the sauna, enjoyed a campfire, and had a wonderful time. There were plenty of seasonings available, and it was helpful to know in advance what would be provided.

    It was the best time with my beloved dog.

    This Accommodation is in a very quiet location surrounded by nature, perfect for a relaxing stay. We made a Reservation for a dog-friendly Room, and it was wonderful to spend time in nature with our dog without any worries. The sauna is private, so you can enjoy it as many times as you like at any time. The outdoor relaxation and cold plunge in the forest air felt amazing. Check-in was self-service. After you complete guest registration via the URL sent by email in advance, you will be able to check your Room number and check-in code. Next time, we’d love to come back for a Multiple Night Stay and enjoy some unhurried time with our dog!

    A Family of Deer and the Magic Hour

    I stayed at a cabin called MOSS in Tateshina. It’s a private cabin in the woods, and the air feels incredibly fresh. You can hear birdsong and the wind all day, and there’s a gentle sense of nature around you that you don’t notice in Tokyo. They say you’re more likely to spot deer during magic hour, and sure enough, while I was zoning out on the deck in the evening, a family of deer appeared right at dusk. Just outside the window, an adult deer and a fawn walked slowly through the forest. They glanced our way as they passed by—it was so adorable. The sky faded into a red-to-purple gradient, and soft light wrapped everything from the forest to inside the cabin. It truly felt like being in a movie. We made a campfire, ate dinner, used the sauna, and simply relaxed. Even without doing anything special, it was an incredibly fulfilling stay.

    A luxurious escape surrounded by nature. The perfect stay with your beloved dog.

    It was a wonderful stay where we could truly relax amid Tateshina’s rich natural surroundings. We were highly satisfied with everything—the Room, the Facility, and the overall environment. The kitchen was well equipped and more than sufficient for cooking with ingredients we had prepared in advance and enjoying our meals. The Room was very clean and comfortable, beautifully designed, and allowed us to unwind while feeling a refreshing sense of escape from everyday life. The Facility was also well stocked, and we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. Another major highlight was being able to stay with our dog. Combined with the surrounding nature, it made for a relaxing time where we could really stretch out and enjoy ourselves. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spend special time in a quiet, peaceful setting. It was a stay that made us want to return again.

    A Relaxing Stay Away from the City

    For those feeling a bit tired of city life, this is the perfect spot for relaxation. I stayed here with the purpose of a digital detox, and it was truly an ideal environment. At night, the sky is filled with stars, and during the day, you can enjoy panoramic views of Tateshina's scenery. Since I visited during the autumn foliage season, the views were absolutely stunning—just gazing at them brought a sense of peace to my heart. It was my first time using a fireplace, but it was very easy to operate with just one switch. The interior design was modern yet warm and thoughtfully crafted to help you disconnect from daily life. In the mornings, I had time to leisurely read books and completely forgot about the hustle and bustle of city life. On another note, there were some minor concerns: Some dishes had residual grease on them—perhaps because cleaning is left up to guests—and when prioritizing water flow for filling up the bathtub while using hot water in other areas like the shower, it became difficult for hot water to come out from there initially. However, once I turned off that priority setting for filling up the tub everything worked fine; prior notice regarding such settings would have been helpful! When my partner contacted their 24-hour support line initially no immediate response occurred but they did follow-up promptly afterward via callback which we appreciated greatly too! Overall though if someone values nature quietness & well-designed spaces away-from-it-all vibes then highly recommend staying here especially perfect opportunity re-center oneself rejuvenate reconnect inner balance amidst serene surroundings
