    This was our first t...

    This was our first trip to Amami Oshima as a family of four, including two elementary school children, and we stayed here for our first night. Due to trouble with our outbound flight, we arrived on the last flight and were almost left without dinner, but the owner was incredibly kind and even made a Reservation at a nearby restaurant for us. When we arrived at the Accommodation, there was a handwritten message on a large leaf that truly warmed our hearts. We also enjoyed the welcome wine while looking up at the starry sky. The Facility was very clean and spacious, and we had a comfortable stay. The kids were thrilled with the pool and went in both at night and in the morning. Because of that, it was very convenient to be able to go from the pool to the bath without getting the Room wet, and having a washer-dryer was also helpful. We also appreciated having a convenience store within walking distance since we came straight from the airport without buying anything. The lunch place recommended by the owner at check-out was delicious as well. If we have another chance to visit Amami again, we would love to stay here longer next time.

    A refined space in tranquil surroundings

    At check-in, a staff member was waiting for us in the garden, and that warmth left a lasting impression. They also kindly accommodated an early check-in, so we were able to start our stay with peace of mind from the moment we arrived. For the welcome sweets, local Amami confections were prepared, and the handwritten message placed alongside leaves from local plants felt heartfelt. I was truly happy to experience such hospitality that let us feel the spirit of the island. The grandeur of the Pacific Ocean seen from the hilltop Room is exceptional, and because it faces south, you can enjoy calm, bright sea views throughout the day. It wasn’t just a place to stay—it felt like being immersed in Amami’s great nature in a wonderfully calming way. The pool next to the Room was also fantastic, filled with fresh water and very refreshing. We were told it is carefully cleaned every morning from early on, which really impressed us; that kind of attentive maintenance clearly adds to the comfort. It does get quite cold when temperatures drop, so heated water would make it even more comfortable, but having direct access from the bathroom was extremely convenient. Because the bathroom door is transparent, there were moments when privacy felt slightly limited, though it also seems designed as part of an overall sense of openness. The high ceilings and spacious layout create a special time that feels completely removed from everyday life. The provided tableware, cutlery, and linens are thoughtfully selected as well—you can feel attention to detail everywhere. The drink selection is excellent: in addition to Nespresso, there are TAVALON herbal teas, Fortnum & Mason ROYAL BLEND tea, and NDK eco tea PURE CEYLON BLACK TEA—an impressive lineup of high-quality options. In the bathroom and at the vanity area there are Aesop amenities as well as DETAILLE soaps; throughout our stay we consistently felt a very high standard of hospitality. Even though it’s an entire villa rental for private use only by guests staying there during their reservation period , thoughtful care from staff could be felt throughout our stay—and that brought real peace of mind. Local plants are beautifully displayed throughout—at places like entrance , kitchen , vanity area —and especially Getto (shell ginger) left a strong impression on me. It was only a two-day stay , but I feel like moments spent here will come back to me unexpectedly over time . I especially recommend this place for anyone planning an “Amami trip with no plans.”

    Relax and unwind with stunning views.

    Set on a hill, the pool is right in front of the living room, and you can see the sea beyond, below the hillside. It’s close to the beach, and with a clean Room you can relax all day. The Facility is well equipped, but it’s a shame there is no microwave. The garden is also very spacious and beautiful.
