Hola, Wootan, me and two friends
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Accommodation, with its charming thatched roof, was truly atmospheric. Even though we stayed for only one night, it felt like a special experience. In the quiet surroundings where you can really feel nature, we enjoyed carefully prepared dinner in the evening, and in the morning the colorful breakfast was as pleasing to the eye as it was satisfying in taste. The place is run by a husband and wife, and in particular the wife’s explanations were clear and easy to understand; she also expanded on our questions in conversation, which made our time there very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and healing getaway. It’s something you can only fully appreciate by actually going—there are many things I feel are better left undisclosed so you can enjoy discovering them yourself. The bath was deep enough to stretch out comfortably, and the hinoki scent was wonderful. It would be perfect if there were an optional plan that lets you enjoy sake in the bath. You may even be able to witness moments like a cicada molting up close, and if it’s handheld fireworks they can be done near the garden area—so I think it could also be great for families with children as a summer memory. It’s an Accommodation that made me want to return someday—perhaps during autumn foliage season at Mt. Kurikoma.

A Wonderful Family Trip to Remember
We stayed here for the first time on a family trip to celebrate our child’s 1st birthday. What stood out most was the warm and genuinely kind personality of the owner couple. We were truly impressed by their thoughtful attention to detail! This is one of the few traditional Japanese house Hotels I can confidently recommend. Food: Everything was incredibly delicious—vegetables, meat, and desserts—using local ingredients as well. They also prepared handmade meals for our child, who happily ate them! Facility: We were able to rent an entire precious traditional Japanese house exclusively! The peaceful atmosphere and nostalgic scent of an old-style home made it deeply relaxing—even for families with small children. Highly recommended! We had a wonderful stay and were very satisfied. We’d love to visit again!

A Hidden Retreat in Miyagi to Heal Body and Mind Through History
We visited Kazenosawa for my partner’s birthday. From the fireplace at night to breakfast in the morning, it was a warm and comforting space where we could truly unwind. We were also very happy to meet the resident cat (Ko-chan) early in the morning. The staff were courteous and attentive—nothing to complain about. In autumn, it seems you can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients such as mushrooms from the area, so we’d love to visit again in a different season. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the noise of the city. It gets quite dark around the property at night, so I think it’s best to arrive early. Thank you very much!

Wonderful hospitality
My family stayed here on the last day of Golden Week. We checked in at a relaxed pace, enjoying drinks on the veranda. The owner personally explained the Accommodation and also introduced some wonderful nearby spots. The lawn stretching out in front of us, the lovely backyard and rice fields, the irori hearth, a beautiful starry sky, and meals made with local ingredients—everything was an amazing experience that let us enjoy the best of rural life with all five senses. What impressed me most this time was breakfast. I had never had the chance to eat my fill of wild mountain vegetables before, and I was truly moved by how much happiness could be on one table. Mountain vegetables that pair perfectly with rice—and that rice comes from the very rice field right in front of you. They opened up the sliding doors for our meal, so we enjoyed that rice while looking out at a wide blue sky and the rice fields. I feel it was a precious time you can only have here in Kazeno Sawa. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the shower water pressure felt slightly weak; otherwise, everything was completely satisfying. Not only were the views wonderful, but the owner and his wife were incredibly kind. It was an Accommodation we definitely want to return to, so we made our next Reservation on the spot. We’re looking forward to visiting again in another season.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warm hospitality that it became an unforgettable stay. The Facility was exceptionally spacious, and we were able to fully enjoy a luxurious space that felt as if it were entirely ours. The bath was wonderful as well, allowing us to truly relax and unwind. Dinner was outstanding, with elegant tableware and furnishings, and the dining room was a beautiful space adorned with artwork. In the evening, we gathered around the fireplace and enjoyed a truly special time. What moved us most was the thoughtful care shown to our two-year-old daughter. Even though we had not made any special requests at the time of Reservation, the staff kindly prepared a child’s apron and meal for her. Everyone was so gentle and welcoming toward our daughter that our whole family could relax in comfort. After our trip, we received a postcard from our host, which deeply touched us. This is an Accommodation I can confidently recommend to families traveling with young children. We would love to return again. Thank you very much.

Welcome back.
We stayed again this spring, following last year (though we really wanted to visit in autumn as well). Once again, it was a wonderful experience. The weather warmed up at just the right time, and the plum blossoms on the grounds were beautifully in bloom; wild mountain vegetables were also growing naturally on the property. The inside of the building was spotless, and we had a very comfortable stay. And the cuisine was taken to an even higher level. The wild mountain vegetables and produce that the chef personally picked, the seafood they source directly, and especially the main duck dish were truly outstanding. There was also an excellent wine selection that wine lovers will adore, and since we could go straight to sleep afterward, we enjoyed dinner and wine without any worries. Breakfast was also absolutely wonderful. This year for sure—autumn!!

It was an amazing accommodation. Despite the unfortunate rain, the scenery was breathtaking, and both the interior and exterior of the accommodation had a charming atmosphere, especially the beautiful irori (traditional Japanese hearth). The chef and his wife were incredibly kind and provided attentive service, making it enjoyable for our children as well. Above all, the French cuisine was exceptional with generous portions, making it a wonderful celebration for our 10th wedding anniversary. Even though we had an early departure the next day, they kindly prepared breakfast and coffee for us early in the morning—we are truly grateful. Our family is already saying "Let's definitely go again!" so we look forward to visiting during a different season next time.

Find Your Inner Peace
The scent of the forest, the sound of the wind, and the warmth of wood. The Facility and amenities are impeccable. A French chef crafts unique dishes using local ingredients while considering guests' preferences, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience in a space surrounded by art and greenery. Run by a wonderful couple who make your stay truly special. I will definitely visit again!

A luxurious stay in a traditional Japanese house where time flows slowly
Staying at Kaze no Sawa Art Cuisine was a truly special and unforgettable experience. Limited to one group per day, the 200-year-old traditional Japanese house offers a unique charm with its irori hearth, views of the countryside from the veranda, and a room featuring modern ikebana art displays—all of which were absolutely stunning. Time flows slowly here, allowing you to enjoy a tranquility that is hard to find in daily life. Dinner was a course meal made with plenty of local ingredients, each dish presented like an art piece. The flavors were incredible and as impressive as those from renowned city restaurants. Breakfast was vegetable-based, gentle on the body, and provided a refreshing start to the day. The female staff member's warm smile and attentive hospitality created an atmosphere where we could relax completely. Strolling through the countryside or reading books allowed for luxurious moments of peace. The expansive sky, delicious meals, and human kindness all came together perfectly here. As it has only recently opened and remains relatively unknown, I would love to visit again soon!

First Trip to Tohoku
For my first trip to Tohoku, I stayed at Kaze no Sawa with a No Meals Included plan. Spending time leisurely by the hearth and gazing at the countryside scenery from the veranda was truly luxurious. The tranquility of being limited to one group per day and the warmth unique to a traditional Japanese house made my first visit to Tohoku an unforgettable memory. After reading reviews praising their meals and seeing beautifully presented dishes on Instagram, I plan to book a Multiple Night Stay with meals next time to fully enjoy this accommodation!

Enjoyed a luxurious time in complete privacy.
We were looking for a place where we could relax as a couple and found this location. Staying in a cultural heritage building with only one group per day is such a rare experience, so we made the Reservation. When we arrived, we were first amazed by the vastness of the property and the atmosphere of the building! The hospitality of the lady who guided us was very pleasant—polite yet friendly—and allowed us to relax completely. What impressed us most was dinner. Not only was it visually stunning, but the taste was truly exceptional, comparable to Michelin-starred restaurants in Tokyo. The meal consisted of over 10 dishes made exclusively with local ingredients, offering a unique sense of locality that can only be experienced here. The chef explained each dish to us, giving every plate its own story—a dinner that left us fully satisfied. At night, they lit up an irori (traditional Japanese hearth) in our Room for us; my partner and I enjoyed sitting around it together before soaking in an incredibly spacious hinoki cypress bath and having a restful sleep. Breakfast featured about 20 kinds of local vegetables beautifully arranged on plates with gentle seasoning using only vegetables and dashi broth—a completely different but equally satisfying experience compared to dinner! Every space—from the bedroom to dining area, earthen floor entrance hall (doma), and meditation room—felt like art itself. Combined with excellent meals and service, it created an unforgettable time for us! Since we've heard that autumn brings beautiful foliage along with amazing wild mushrooms here, we're planning another visit during that season! Thank you very much!
