The Room’s greatest ...
The Room’s greatest highlight is the ocean view from the bath inside the guest room. In many places, the bathroom and Room are separate, but being able to step straight into the bath within the Room felt truly special and gave a wonderful sense of escape. There is also an outdoor sauna, making this stay feel far more unique than most other Facility options. Honestly, I didn’t expect that much at first, but having “my own private sauna” was even better than I imagined and left me feeling deeply refreshed in both body and mind. One small thing to note: because the sauna is outdoors, you need to pass across the balcony briefly. At that moment, you may occasionally make eye contact with people walking along the seaside, so it’s worth being a little mindful. Another personal favorite was the selection of books in the Room. It seems to vary by Room, which adds a small pleasure—wondering what kind of books will be there this time. There are no meals provided, but the extra-paid curry in the refrigerator was much better than expected and very satisfying. You can also purchase coffee beans and enjoy taking time to grind them and brew coffee—something I don’t usually do. Staying here wasn’t just about spending a night; it was time to engage thoughtfully with everyday acts like sleeping and eating. Because of its simple space, it naturally made me reflect on life itself—and what happiness means. It truly felt like a special place.

Seaside location ✓
I previously stayed at the Yamanakako location, and this time I stayed in Tateyama for the first time. [View] I stayed on the first floor, and every room has an ocean view right in front of you. The sunset in the evening was truly breathtaking! I imagine the second floor offers an even better view. [Location] There is an AEON TOWN nearby, so it’s very convenient to pick up dinner supplies—just a short drive away. I also recommend stopping by a seafood market on the way to shop before heading over. Even after checking out the next day, I was able to relax at a seaside café and enjoy some quiet time. [Sauna] Having a sauna in every room is a big plus. Just note that it takes time for the sauna to heat up, and preparing the cold bath also takes a little while. *The jacuzzi water alone isn’t very cold, so don’t forget to grab ice from next to the BBQ area. [Amenities] Nothing stood out as an issue. The furniture was tasteful and high quality, and I was able to enjoy a luxurious stay. We cooked about four dishes for dinner, and there was plenty of tableware available, which was reassuring. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay! I didn’t use it this time when making my Reservation, but I’d like to try the BBQ next time!

Perfect for sauna lovers.
The sauna time while gazing at the ocean and sunset right in front of us was truly amazing—a luxurious “totonoi” experience. The Room interior and the selection of tableware were very tasteful, and the entire space felt cohesive and comfortable. An Accommodation where you can relax at a leisurely pace while feeling close to nature—irresistible for sauna lovers. I’d definitely like to visit again.

We had the best, mos...
We had the best, most relaxing time! Sitting in the sauna while looking out at the ocean right in front of us, then watching a movie with the projector, was pure bliss. The ocean-view tub was also wonderful—being able to use it as a regular bath or as an ice bath felt truly luxurious. The sauna was amazing—hot and steamy, and you can do löyly—but it automatically turns off after 12 hours, so that’s something to keep in mind. Since it takes time to heat up, if you want a morning sauna, it may be best to turn the power off and back on before going to bed. One more thing to note is the parking: you need to park in the space labeled with your Room number. Aside from those two points, we highly recommend this place—you can truly feel like “this is life.” If you want a healthy, elegant stay while being close to nature, you should go.

The moment we steppe...
The moment we stepped into the Room, we were captivated by the ocean view through the large windows. The golden sea and sky at sunset were breathtaking beyond words. We cooked our own meals in the in-room kitchen. Making dinner with local ingredients felt luxurious and relaxing in a way that’s different from dining at a restaurant. Best of all was the sauna with self löyly! We worked up a sweat while gazing at the ocean through the window, then enjoyed fresh-air breaks while listening to the waves, took a cold plunge, and sipped an Oropo—our best “totonoi” ever. Since it takes time for the sauna to fully heat up, we recommend turning it on as soon as you arrive at the Accommodation! This is an Accommodation we can confidently recommend when you want to refresh with someone special, completely undisturbed.

A workation stay where you can be soothed by the sunset sinking into the sea.
This time, I stayed for one night with a friend, half for work and half for sightseeing. The room was oceanfront. The sunset view from the sofa facing the sea was very beautiful. Finishing work early, we enjoyed casual conversations while watching the sunset with a glass of delicious wine in hand until it got dark. It was a rich time that we couldn't experience in our usual office. Neither of us is good at driving, so this time we took a bus to Tateyama. The travel time was about 2 hours from Busta Shinjuku. The bus was comfortable with a restroom on board. (Although we didn't bring them this time, dogs are allowed on this route if they are in a bag and can sit on your lap. Much appreciated!) Since SANU is a villa, we needed to prepare our own meals. We planned a stay-in, so we decided not to eat out and enjoy delicious food leisurely in the room. First, we bought sweets and wine snacks at Shinjuku Isetan. And since Tateyama is known for its delicious fish, we pre-ordered a sashimi platter with turban shells at "Marui Fresh Fish Shop," which is a 10-minute taxi ride from Tateyama Station. We also got some dried fish as souvenirs before heading to the property by taxi. The sashimi was a great choice. It included various types, some a bit rare, and the freshness was outstanding and delicious. The cost performance was also excellent. We selected a wine to pair with the sashimi and snacks from the wine cooler in the room (for a fee). The wine selection was also good, and we were satisfied. The terrace had a private sauna for the room. There was a bathtub just inside from the terrace where we could also take a cold bath. The space was comfortable, surrounded by interior items like speakers, sofas, and bed linens that we wanted to incorporate into our own home. And what was appreciated for us on a workation stay was the spaciousness of the dining table and the comfort of the sofa. Thanks to this, our work progressed smoothly. The next day at noon, we went to a sushi restaurant near the station. We enjoyed delicious sushi while chatting with the chef at the counter. Entering a local sushi restaurant requires a bit of courage, but it's fun to feel the real atmosphere unique to the area, so I personally highly recommend it. Work progressed well, we ate delicious food, and we were able to experience a bit of an extraordinary feeling. It's nice to change the location and work instead of staying in the city center. We will definitely visit again.

Relax while gazing at the sea.
I stayed for one night at the end of the year. The check-in process was smooth and straightforward, as it only required entering a code, which saved time. The parking was also easy to understand and helpful. The large dining table and long sofa were great. Sitting side by side on the long sofa, working on a PC or reading a book while gazing at the sea was blissful. The ocean is literally right in front, so even on the first floor, you can enjoy a stunning ocean view from the room. The WiFi speed was also reliable, which was reassuring. The private sauna was excellent, and my sauna-loving partner went multiple rounds! It was also amazing to see the ocean right in front of you from the bathtub in the room. We bought ingredients from a nearby supermarket and cooked, and the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, making cooking much more enjoyable than usual! The three-burner IH stove was very easy to use. Not only were the cooking utensils available, but all the basic seasonings were provided, which was incredibly helpful. Additionally, receiving an email beforehand about what cooking utensils and seasonings were available was a godsend. (When staying at this type of property, if you don't know what's provided and what you need to buy, you can't prepare before going, and you can't cook as you wish...) The original playlist played on the speakers was also very good. The books and booklets in the room, with their playful touches, were very much to my liking and lifted my spirits. Personally, I found the articles and interview content about nature in the booklet (journal?) provided to be very interesting. It was a fresh and satisfying stay that left a lasting impression. I would like to stay at another SANU location next time. The kitchen facilities and surrounding environment gave a strong sense of "living" and "residing," so next time, I plan to visit for at least two nights, preferably a multiple night stay, at whichever location I choose!
