    Moved once again

It was my first time back at Lake Kawaguchi in a while. Since it was summer, I wasn’t expecting a Mt. Fuji view, but the next morning we could see it clearly all the way to the base—it was truly moving. I’ve stayed here several times, and it keeps getting better each visit. This time, what surprised me most was that drinks were unlimited. The Mt. Fuji whisky in particular was excellent—we finished an entire bottle between the two of us. All cooking utensils were provided, and the amenities were especially well stocked—my wife was thrilled. If you’re starting to tire of staying at a Ryokan, this villa is perfect.

I was able to spend a peaceful and quiet time.

Because it’s a private whole-house rental, we were able to use the space comfortably and spaciously. Everything you need is provided—from knives to glasses to plates—so it’s convenient that you can travel light and just bring food and ingredients. Check-in was easy at the unmanned reception building, and check-out can be done from your smartphone. The open-air Onsen and sauna were also easy to use, and we used them many times during our stay. There is also a standing ashtray on the terrace, which smokers will appreciate; I enjoyed having a beer while looking at Mt. Fuji and taking a relaxing smoke break. Since the building faces Lake Kawaguchi directly, it was disappointing that Mt. Fuji cannot be seen from the open-air bath or the sauna. However, you can see Mt. Fuji from the terrace and from the bed by the window in the second-floor bedroom. If you want an unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji, the dome-shaped tents at Gran Farm next door might be a better choice. Also, while the sauna room is spacious enough for two people comfortably, the entrance is narrow with a step at your feet, so please take care when entering and exiting. I felt this Facility is perfect for relaxing without thinking about anything and simply enjoying time passing by. Although we stayed in a Sweet Villa, nearby houses are fairly visible; if you close both sets of privacy curtains (vertical and horizontal) around the open-air bath area, you won’t need to worry about being seen.

    Birthday Trip

This is my second visit. Last year, there were more sets available, but this time it was limited to one set per person. There is a sauna and an outdoor Onsen, and since it's winter, it would have been nice to have extra sets as they can get wet and cold. The view was amazing! Although it was self-service, we had a relaxing time as a family.

Next time, I would like to stay with meals included!

We stayed as a couple to relax and enjoy the Onsen. This accommodation is perfect for those who want to indulge in their own private time. Check-in was done through a tablet-based self-service system, which was smooth and hassle-free. The highlight was definitely the view! The scenery from the room and facility was breathtaking, offering a refreshing and serene experience. The private Onsen and sauna in the guest room provided an ideal way to unwind from daily stress. The temperature was just right, everything felt clean, and it offered pure relaxation. This time we chose a no-meal plan to focus on relaxing, but next time we would love to try a meal-inclusive plan for an even more enjoyable stay. Thank you very much!

    Stayed with my husba...

Stayed with my husband. Apart from the view, it felt more like a compact home than a Hotel. However, everything was clean, and the storage methods for food and tableware were hygienic, which left a good impression. It was slightly disappointing that some amenities had damaged packaging, but the items provided were of high quality, including tissues and other supplies, reflecting the owner's attention to detail. There was no sofa in front of the TV; instead, we enjoyed a relaxing conversation in the sunroom with a sofa—something we hadn't done in a while without relying on TV. The gas fireplace created a nice atmosphere but stopped working after being turned off once; it might have been due to dead batteries. The location perfectly suited our travel purpose this time. Thank you very much!

Indulge in Luxurious Nature and Gourmet Delights with Early Summer Tsumugi

This was our second stay this year at the Heavenly Onsen Villa Tsumugi. Once again, we fully enjoyed the extraordinary relaxation while taking in the breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. The semi-outdoor Outer Living area provided a refreshing breeze from nature, offering a different kind of freshness compared to our previous winter visit. For the first time, we chose a meal-inclusive Plan and savored Koshū beef sukiyaki. The sweet, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the wagyu left us impressed with the high quality of the cuisine. What delighted us this time was the improvement in amenities and guidance systems. The enhanced attention to detail in service made for an even more comfortable experience from a guest's perspective. Tsumugi offers seasonal delights that make you want to return again and again—truly an exceptional place!

The sauna is great, but other aspects may not meet expectations...

First, the good points: The sauna and bath are excellent. The location is perfect with a sauna offering a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. There is also a cold bath and a relaxation space, which makes it even better. The flow from the living area to the BBQ space was convenient, making it an enjoyable experience. Now for the less favorable points: The Facility is located at such a height that privacy feels lacking. I often made eye contact with an older man working in the nearby fields (laughs). If you go expecting something like a "Sky Villa," you might feel quite disappointed by the gap in expectations. Honestly, for 50,000 yen per person or 100,000 yen for two people, this Facility did not meet our expectations. We regret not researching more thoroughly before booking and felt it might be more suited for inbound tourists. We visited as part of celebrating our wedding anniversary but believe there are many other places offering better value at this price point.

    It was a spectacular view.

I used it with my colleagues. The weather was clear, and we had a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. We visited during a cold season, but there were plenty of heating appliances like air conditioners, heaters, fireplaces, and bonfires, so we stayed warm. There was also a bicycle rental, and it was nice to cycle around Lake Kawaguchi. The only disappointment was that the sauna temperature didn't rise much, possibly because it was an extremely cold day. Other than that, we were highly satisfied and had a great time.

Recharge with winter tsumugi. Truly the best view.

Unable to forget the charm of summer tsumugi, this time I came to see the winter scenery. The crisp air and the majestic presence of Mount Fuji right before my eyes instantly swept away all my work fatigue. As soon as I arrived at the villa, I headed straight to my favorite water terrace. This time, the clear winter blue sky and the snow-capped Mount Fuji were reflected in the water surface, and it was just absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The scenery before me was so vast that it couldn't fit into a photo frame, making it hard to capture the moment... I regret not being able to convey this awe-inspiring view. During sunrise, the light reflected off the water, making the surface sparkle, and I found myself completely lost in the moment, forgetting time and feeling utterly relaxed. At night, the star-filled sky, and in the morning, the view of Mount Fuji from the open-air bath were both spectacular, allowing me to indulge in truly luxurious moments.

The temperature of the sauna and the temperature of the Room

The title says it all. The sauna was completely off when we checked in, so we expected it to take some time to heat up. However, even though we left it on at the 110°C setting until checkout, it never went above 76°C. The dining area, with its glass walls, offered a stunning location, but I wondered if it might be cold. Unfortunately, my concerns were spot on—it only warmed up to about 15°C. Not wanting to shiver through breakfast, we ended up spending most of our time in the bedroom and the slightly cramped living room. To the management team: please try staying here yourselves. There are good aspects, but it's a shame.

    Not worth the price.

70,000 yen per person per night for just a rental villa with only ingredients for shabu-shabu or sukiyaki. Everything is self-service, and this price is unreasonable. The Facility is new but average; the bath is not an onsen and is small, with dirt on the bathtub plug. There’s an unnecessary decorative pond-like feature. The bath can be seen from nearby dome camping Facilities. Amenities are at the level of a Business Hotel. While they claim the ingredients are A4/A5 grade, they are overly fatty marbled meat that makes you feel sick if eaten in large quantities. Drinks include sports drinks and orange juice but are cheap products from unknown brands. Ingredients are provided, but there’s no explanation on how to prepare them at all. It was just a low-quality rental villa with everything self-service—never again!

    The room was smaller...

The room was smaller and simpler than expected, but it was decent for spending time freely with children. We chose sukiyaki for the meal. The quality of the meat was not bad, and the breakfast soup was delicious, but it was very inconvenient without a dishwasher...

It is a good Facility to relax in the sauna while enjoying the view of Mt. Fuji.

The rooms and facilities were clean, and the sauna and open-air bath were easy to use and nice. However, the operation of the fireplace-style heater was a bit complicated. There was no customer service, and I never met any staff, so it was troublesome to figure things out on my own. The dinner menu was shabu-shabu, but only Western tableware was provided, so I would have liked some Japanese tableware as well. There was a welcome drink with wine, but there was no wine opener, which made it feel like some details were lacking.

    Disappointed with the underwhelming service.

When I called to inquire about how to operate the coffee maker in the kitchen, I was given an explanation from the materials at hand. I called because I couldn't understand it by looking at it, so even if it's an unmanned facility, shouldn't someone come to the room and explain it right away? Considering the amount I'm paying, that's only natural. The Onsen, sauna, and view were great, but I was disappointed with the service!

    The view is amazing!

I wanted to go glamping with my girlfriend, so we used this property. I was interested because it had both a sauna and an onsen, so we stayed here. [Positive Points] - The view is amazing!!! You can see Mt. Fuji while in the sauna or bath, it's the best. - The facility is well-equipped! (Amenities and supplies are sufficient) - We brought our own ingredients, but the refrigerator is large, so we were satisfied. *Thank you for the wine for the opening celebration! - We had a lot of luggage we brought ourselves, but the staff asked if they could carry it for us, which made us happy! lol - I definitely want to come again! [Negative Points] - It's such a great facility, I wish there was an early check-in option. - The sauna only went up to a little over 70 degrees, which was a bit unsatisfying. However, there was no problem if you spent time doing the löyly properly. Overall, I was completely satisfied with a perfect score of 100. Thank you very much to all the staff.

Spacious glamping with a front view of Mt. Fuji

The room was very beautiful and spacious, it was the best. Mount Fuji was visible right in front, offering the best view in the evening and daytime. I made the reservation to coincide with the new moon, so the stars were very beautiful. Since we went as two people, the price per person was high, but since it can accommodate up to four people, I think it would be more economical with friends or family. I would like to visit again.

The view, facilities, and cost performance are very satisfying!

We visited on our anniversary as a couple. Just before going, we saw a bad review and arrived with some anxiety... After checking in and entering the room, the view made all those worries disappear in an instant...!! We looked around the room, with an onsen, sauna, cold bath, and stylish interior... With more than enough facilities, we were able to enjoy the onsen and sauna multiple times, have meals on the BBQ grill, and truly forget about time. Our room had a checkout time of 11:00, so we were also happy to spend a leisurely morning. Additionally, the cooking utensils and appliances were so well-equipped that we had never seen anything like it (do we need this much? lol), and there was no shortage! The bed was a fluffy Simmons. We didn't notice any pillow smell mentioned in the bad reviews. Also, when we called because we didn't understand the check-in process, they responded very kindly, and we didn't feel any lack in service. During this stay, we were able to relax and unwind away from everyday life. Thank you very much. If I had to say, the road on the way was narrow, so those going on their own should be careful (it's on a hill, so it can't be helped...) Also, there were some appliances we didn't know how to use, so having instructions would be helpful. Even considering that, everything else was so good that I give it a total of 5 out of 5 points, and I will definitely visit again! This time we brought our own BBQ ingredients, so next time I would like to try a plan with Koshu beef meals!!

    For the price...

We stayed for one night with breakfast for two people, but the breakfast was surprisingly poor. However, since it was a system where we had to warm up the food that was pre-stored in the refrigerator, it couldn't be helped. Still, I think there could have been at least one more dish. The fact that there was no salad was... Since it was a cloudy sky and we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, the charm was halved, but considering the price exceeding 100,000 yen, it didn't seem worth it. I thought it was rather too expensive. There are plenty of luxury hotels where you can be quite satisfied for the same price. The amenities lacked basic items like lotion, the futon was hard, and the dining area was cramped. However, I thought it was very nice that the living room sofa was large and connected to the terrace, and that there was a proper Onsen bath, sauna, and cold bath. We were able to enjoy repeatedly using the sauna, Onsen, and cold bath in the room. Having a bathtub for the cold bath is a high point. The sauna was also designed to allow water to be poured on the stones, and the space was spacious. However, since people in the next room sometimes walked to the edge of the water feature and peeked from the corner, there was no sense of privacy at all. If they had eliminated the walkable edge space, this wouldn't have happened. Also, at checkout, I was concerned that there was no checkout button on the tablet. (I ended up doing the same process as check-in, but I was worried if that was okay.) If you're going with a large group, a university club, or a family with children, I think it's great because of the high degree of freedom. However, it is not suitable at all for a quiet date for just two people.

    Under construction!

Efforts are being made to streamline operations with automation, but such simplistic IT implementation and rationalization deviate from the essence of the service industry. If this resulted in lower prices, it would be understandable, but it is not at a satisfactory level. Considering cost performance from such a perspective is not favorable. The building is cheaply constructed and lacks a sense of luxury.

    To be confirmed

It is a completely glamping-type stay, but it slightly falls short of expectations for the price. As it is an unmanned facility, there are no drinks or alcohol available. The meat provided was delicious, but it's hard to imagine having only bones without any condiments. I question whether spending over 100,000 yen for two people was worth it. If you go, I think it's better to bring some groceries.

The facilities are good, but the hygiene is...

We stayed for one night to celebrate my partner's birthday. The facilities, including Panasonic's latest hairdryer, rice cooker, and refrigerator, were excellent. However, the most disappointing aspect was the smell of the bedding. The pillows, in particular, emitted a strong odor reminiscent of aging (apologies if this is offensive, but it clearly smelled like male scalp oil). The air conditioner also had a musty smell, and the dishes were stored wrapped in plastic wrap with a lot of water stains on them. Additionally, in a room separate from the living room that connects to the outside, there was a chunk of meat likely left by previous guests who used the BBQ (we did not have a BBQ, nor did we eat meat there). The sauna was easy to use, and since the facility is still new and clean, I felt compelled to comment as it was disappointing that the cleaning was not properly done.

I wish I could have seen Mount Fuji.

Since it was a new inn, there was a nice scent of wood when we entered the room. The weather wasn't very good, but I was happy to catch glimpses of the top of Mt. Fuji while in the sauna and outer living area. The inn is stylish with a full set of tableware and a smooth, user-friendly layout. The table in the outer living area was a kotatsu, so it was very warm, and my mother, who feels the cold easily, was delighted. We enjoyed dinner while listening to music, slowly watched the sunset, and chatted away until late at night, forgetting the time. It was truly enjoyable. There are a few steps from the front desk to the room, and not everything in the room is barrier-free. I think Mt. Fuji would be beautiful with snow in the winter season, but it's a shame that the steps would be difficult for my mother, who has trouble with her legs. Inside the room, I felt that: ① It would be nice if the outlet in the outer living area was in a more convenient location. ② When we broke a glass, I thought it would be nice to have a broom and dustpan available. ③ We brought our own blankets, so we could enjoy the kotatsu table in the outer living area until late at night. I thought that if a stylish basket with blankets was provided near the stove, many guests would appreciate it in the coming season. Despite saying various things, it's an inn I definitely want to stay at again. Thank you very much to all the staff for taking care of us. Thank you.

    I want to visit again.

We were able to enjoy a secluded anniversary date without meeting anyone. The open-air bath was pleasant and fantastic. The room was clean, the size was just right, and we really liked the sofa space that felt like a sunroom. It was convenient to have a barbecue without having to start a fire, and the breakfast of pot-au-feu, bread, and peach juice was very delicious. Although it was cloudy on the day we arrived and we couldn't see Mount Fuji, we were thrilled to see it clearly the next morning. There are only water and coffee drinks available, so it's a good idea to bring ice with you. We were informed that there were no toothbrushes, but there were actually plenty of amenities available. The kitchen utensils and appliances were generally well-equipped, but there was no toaster, so we grilled the bread on the stove, which was tasty. The only seasonings available were salt, pepper, and oil. A bit disappointing was that there was only one outdoor reclining chair instead of the two shown in the photos, so we couldn't enjoy it together. Even when we wanted to contact the front desk about it, we couldn't reach the staff due to insufficient chat options, so it couldn't be resolved. However, if you can let that go, it's not a problem, and I felt like visiting again for a date in a pleasant season.

I definitely want to come again.

We used it with four women. The room and terrace were clean and well-maintained. We were very satisfied as we could fully enjoy the sauna and open-air bath. Also, it was nice that the air conditioning could be adjusted in each room. The glamping type allows for a campfire, and we enjoyed it with a nice atmosphere. Overall, we were very satisfied with the accommodation. We definitely want to visit again with the same members. One thing to note is that when going by car, the road is narrow and almost one-way, so you should be very careful when driving.
