    Stay at a Chef’s Home

    We chose this Accommodation after seeing photos and Reviews saying the food is incredibly delicious. We travel twice a week, and among the many Accommodations we’ve stayed at, the meals here were truly top-class. It really felt like we came to stay at an Accommodation run by a chef. We’re a bit shy, but they spoke with us in a way that wasn’t too close or too distant, so we had a wonderful time. This time it was just the two of us, but next time we’d like to bring our parents as well.

    The Perfect Birthday Getaway

    I have made hotel reservations through IKYU many times, but this is my first time writing a review because I couldn't resist sharing my experience. We used this accommodation for a birthday trip for my son and wife. The price was quite a stretch for us, but I can confidently say it was worth many times more than what we paid—it was an absolutely amazing experience. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with warm smiles. The accommodation was filled with birthday decorations, which deeply moved us. Since we had our 3-year-old child with us, there were baby items, toys, and picture books everywhere to keep him entertained. After enjoying the 24-hour flowing onsen, it was finally time for dinner. Although dining at the counter made me slightly nervous at first, those worries quickly disappeared. They had carefully asked via email in advance about our child's favorite foods and served dishes he loved one after another. Additionally, they were very considerate of my pregnant wife’s needs. My son felt completely at ease in the relaxed atmosphere; before we knew it, the three-hour dinner flew by in no time. The chef's meticulously crafted dishes paired with wines selected by his wife were exceptional. Above all else, their genuine effort to ensure our family enjoyed every moment left a lasting impression on us about the importance of human connection. We ended the evening on a high note by enjoying our son's birthday cake before falling into blissful sleep. The next morning's breakfast continued to amaze us. Right before our eyes, they prepared fresh sashimi from a large fish while serving freshly cooked rice that took three hours to fetch—words cannot describe how delicious it all tasted together. It was truly hard to leave such an incredible accommodation. Although my wife has an upcoming delivery making an immediate return difficult for now, they assured us that small children are always welcome here. My wife and I talked about coming back soon when possible. This trip became one of our best memories ever! I'm certain this will become an increasingly sought-after accommodation in no time. We will definitely find another opportunity to return again soon—thank you so much!

    A hospitality-filled accommodation

    First visited in May 2025 and was so impressed by the comfort that we returned in July. ● A building with warmth and attention to detail The accommodation features a large wooden door between the dining area prepared by the staff and the living room where we spent our time, allowing us to relax fully. This stylish wooden door is soothing just to look at. ● Chef's carefully crafted cuisine Every dish was delicious, offering enjoyment of both aroma and texture of the ingredients. You can feel the chef's passion and love for cooking. Personally, I highly recommend trying the drinks prepared by staff as well as their after-meal coffee—they are exceptional! Additionally, hearing stories about dishes or personal experiences from the chef adds another layer of enjoyment. ● Thoughtfulness towards families with children We visited with our 4-year-old son who is a very picky eater, so we initially gave up on him eating at this accommodation. However, during pre-visit inquiries, they kindly listened to our concerns and provided reassurance that they could accommodate his needs. During this visit, due to a tsunami warning causing long delays at a station en route, it was uncertain if we could even reach our destination. The staff kept in constant contact with us and took thoughtful actions under their motto "What can we do for you?" which gave us great peace of mind—thank you so much for your support during that time. There are countless wonderful aspects about this place; above all else is how warmly all staff members care for guests like us—it makes you wish you could stay longer! We look forward to visiting again soon!

    First Auberge Experience

    My First Auberge Experience With only one guest per day, I was initially nervous. However, on the day of my reservation, a typhoon was approaching, and the owner-chef kindly picked me up at the station, which was a great help. Upon arriving at Bekke, I was greeted by a wild squirrel, which lifted my spirits even more. The owner's wife and staff were friendly and charming, making for lively conversations. The much-anticipated dinner started with an unexpected presentation of stones that surprised me but showcased creative dishes that truly delighted me—and they were absolutely delicious! Despite the variety of courses served, everything was so enjoyable that I finished it all effortlessly. Since I mentioned my love for wine, they recommended wines to pair with each dish, making the experience even more delightful. The bath featured natural hot spring water flowing directly from its source. The bed and linens were soft to the touch and ensured a restful sleep. For breakfast, there was an option between Japanese or German cuisine; being greedy as I am, I asked for both! They graciously accommodated this request so my husband and I could share and enjoy together. Although it was just one night’s stay—it flew by—it became a memorable 60th birthday celebration filled with wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

    Delicious and enjoyable

    Thank you for welcoming us in the rain. This is a very pleasant accommodation. I traveled with my 93-year-old mother who has difficulty walking, but the barrier-free room made moving around easy and worry-free. My mother thoroughly enjoyed the French cuisine and even finished her dessert, saying it was delicious. The dishes were beautifully presented and delightful to taste! The onsen was also wonderful, and my mother was overjoyed to bathe multiple times. Various games were provided to keep us entertained; my mother played Othello with my husband and won, creating a lovely memory. This is an accommodation full of thoughtful care in every aspect. It has become one of the places we want to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Relax in the highlands and enjoy an extraordinary experience.

    Thank you for the Shuttle Service to Izu-Kogen Station and for making our two-day, one-night stay so enjoyable and relaxing. The Onsen and beds were comfortable, and the service and hospitality made us feel as relaxed as if we were at home. We could feel the chef's passion for ingredients in every meal, which was both intricate yet highlighted the quality of each ingredient—truly impressive. We also enjoyed German wine, making it a wonderful experience for everyone. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

    A property I would like to visit in different seasons.

    I was very pleased with my previous stay, so I immediately made a second reservation and eagerly counted down the days. This time, I visited with my husband and our elementary school-aged son. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with the same wonderful smiles as before. We first enjoyed homemade drinks and sweets, then opened the window to feel the pleasant outside air while enjoying the onsen. Then came the much-anticipated dinner. Every dish was visually stunning, and they served different dishes from last time. We enjoyed conversations that included explanations of ingredients from Izu that we had never seen before. Each dish had a delicate and meticulous taste that reflected the chef's careful work. To avoid spoilers for future guests, I'll refrain from details, but it truly felt like "a day invited to a chef's home," as we were mesmerized by the chef's skills unfolding before us from start to finish. We stayed for two nights; on one occasion when we mentioned liking a particular dish on our first day, they promptly procured fish for it which was very impressive. They even showed fish heads to our son who loves looking at fish—truly attentive hospitality in every detail. Including new staff members who joined recently, everyone was friendly and made us feel comfortable in this relaxing place. Since Izu ingredients seem enjoyable across different seasons too; I'd love to visit again at another time of year.

    Stay with Three Generations of Your Family

    Four members of our family, spanning three generations, were born in January, so we stayed to celebrate their birthdays. This was my fourth stay, and as always, the delicious food was provided. I am very grateful that you asked in advance about my grandchild's favorite foods and served them. Thank you to the staff for playing with my grandchildren. My daughter was thankful that she could enjoy a meal at a leisurely pace for the first time in a while.

    The Best Time with My Grandchild

    This time, we stayed with our family of six, including my husband and I, our daughter, our son and his wife, and our grandchild. Thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the owner couple and the staff, we had a fantastic time and created the best memories. Everything we needed, including baby supplies, was prepared, and the furnishings were lovely, creating a healing space filled with attention to detail and the scent of wood. Above all, I was impressed by the owner's commitment to perfect food traceability, growing organic vegetables and going out to sea with fishermen to catch fish. It's rare to find such dedication, and the explanations of the ingredients from the owner-chef were realistic and added to the deliciousness, making it a series of moving experiences. We would love to visit again during the season of fresh greenery.

    Stay with Children

    We stayed with five people, including our two daughters aged 2 years and 5 months. In a word, it was a very fulfilling and wonderful time. Understanding the challenges of having children, we were able to stay without stress. The provision of baby supplies and meals tailored to their ages, served at a temperature ready to eat, was very reassuring as there was no worry about burns. The meals for adults were also exquisite. Our whole family had a great time together. We would love to use it again.

    It is an attractive Stays that other Hotels do not have!

    I made a reservation for my mother-in-law's birthday. It has been a while since I stayed at a hotel with so much wood used, and by touching it with my hands and feet, I realized the goodness of wood again. It was a very warm and pleasant space. The professional service and attentiveness were wonderful, as the couple had gained experience in hotels. The food was full of playful spirit, and I was impressed by the chef's meticulous attention to detail, as everything was visually beautiful and delicious. The view from the large windows was lovely, so I would like to visit in a different season as well.

    The best Stays ever

    It was amazing, or rather overwhelming... A week has passed since our stay, but the afterglow still lingers. I usually don't give 5 stars unless something is extraordinary, but bekka-san was a series of extraordinary experiences. You can tell a truly good property from the emails after making a reservation. They contacted us immediately after completing the reservation, confirming allergies and discussing birthday celebrations, engaging in polite exchanges several times, making us feel that the journey begins from the moment of reservation. And we were able to enjoy a stay that far exceeded those expectations. The warm hospitality of the three staff members, the room arrangements, the presentation... There are countless things to mention, but everything was excellent. I believe most luxuries can be fulfilled here. However, this is an auberge. So, how about the meals? I was very much looking forward to it after reading other reviews, and it was indeed overwhelming. I won't say much to avoid spoiling the experience for future guests, but it felt like reading a story through the dining experience. The chef's thoughts and messages were conveyed very well. We are receiving life. We must engrave this in our hearts and be grateful for our daily meals. A newly built chef's house with the lingering scent of wood, nestled at the foot of Omuroyama. Undoubtedly, a wonderful time awaits. Thank you for providing such a wonderful time. Please let us visit again in a different season.

    An auberge where you can indulge in the luxury of doing nothing and savor gourmet cuisine!

    I made a reservation because a family member's birthday was approaching. This property is a place of relaxation and healing, with abundant use of wood, and as soon as you enter the entrance, you are enveloped in the scent of wood. The bath is a natural hot spring, and the gentle water is very effective in retaining heat. The meals are a feast for both the taste buds and the eyes, and everything was truly delicious and impressive. From the dishes to the ingredients and even the accompanying drinks, you can feel the dedication of the chef and his wife in every aspect. They also accommodated the requests we made in advance, and we felt their hospitality. This auberge offers a comfortable space where you can enjoy the luxury of doing nothing and savor gourmet food at your leisure.

    Wonderful cuisine and Onsen, relax in a spacious Room!!

    I was recommended by an acquaintance and made a reservation for the summer, but due to a typhoon, I had to reluctantly cancel it once. I managed to make another reservation when I could take time off. I'm glad I went for it!!! The food, the onsen, the property, and the atmosphere of the chef couple were all absolutely wonderful. Since they only accommodate one group per day, they asked in detail about our food preferences in advance, but in the end, we left it mostly up to them... and as expected, they are professionals! Everything was delicious, and it was a series of delightful surprises!! Even when looking at the menu, I couldn't imagine what would come from the names, and I got to try many things I had never eaten before. It seems they think about the menu for each guest, so it's different every time. During my stay, they served venison, and since I'm not particularly fond of game meat, I tried it with some hesitation, but there was no gamey smell at all, and I was surprised at how delicious venison could be! The other dishes, from fish to vegetables to cooking methods, were filled with the chef's passion, and it was fun to hear about it. The "bonus" in the course was not at all at a bonus level. Also, the final dessert was so delicious that I was surprised to learn that the chef had experience as a patissier. It was a series of moving experiences from start to finish. For breakfast, we requested separate Japanese and Western styles, and both looked so delicious that it was hard to choose (I heard some people switch halfway through). The property was also really great. You can see Omuroyama (Oomuroyama) from the large window, and it's so pleasant that I recommend spending time lazily on the sofa. They also prepared drinks well (I was personally happy to have a juicer. I made juice from all the mandarins they prepared for us). You can come with just yourself and relax. The onsen is also free-flowing, so you can indulge in the ultimate luxury. You don't have to worry about other guests, so you can enter multiple times and enjoy a morning bath too! The items in the room were also filled with attention to detail, and I was personally surprised by the towels. They were fluffy, and when I wondered what material they were, it was bamboo! Other items were stylish and lovely. Also, the hairdryer was Dyson, so it dried quickly, which was appreciated. The acquaintance who recommended this place said they wanted to come every season, and I understand why. I'll be back again~!

    It was a healing space.

    It was a mysterious space where I could truly relax, even though it was my first time visiting. The two of you warmly welcomed us, and we were able to spend a day that felt like being invited to a chef's home. From the moment we entered the Room, there was a pleasant scent of wood that made us feel at ease, and outside the window, squirrels, birds, and insects came to play, which was soothing just to watch. At night, we enjoyed the starry sky while watching the bonfire on the garden terrace, and it was very comfortable. The food was also amazing. Perhaps because the ingredients were so fresh, it felt like I could eat twice as much as usual. Yet, it didn't feel heavy at all, and I felt rejuvenated. It's incredible! The recommended wine was also very delicious! The mini BAR? you provided was well-stocked with alcohol, and it was a lot of fun to make cocktails ourselves. Above all, we were drawn to your warm personalities, and by the time we had to leave, we felt sad to say goodbye. I am already looking forward to visiting again next time!

    Hospitality

    Last time, I stayed here after seeing it featured in a magazine and booking through their website, and it was so good that I decided to visit again after finding out I could book through Ikkyu. This place is even better than the photos! The woody atmosphere is soothing, and the hospitality is impressive. With a great selection of drinks, including alcohol and board games, you can fully enjoy your stay without bringing anything. I relished freshly squeezed juice from the juicer. One of the reasons I would revisit is because the owner couple is truly wonderful! They are young but have a wealth of conversation topics, making the time fly by enjoyably. They accommodated our picky meal requests, and every ingredient was deliciously and beautifully arranged. My daughter loved the fried gamecock, thank you for the meal. Our requests weren't limited to food; when we asked for a harvest experience in the field, they kindly guided us, and my daughter was thrilled. The hot spring is indoors, but you can open the window to feel like you're in an open-air bath, which is very relaxing. It's a place I want to visit again and recommend to friends.
