    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I stayed with five friends and family members. It was an excellent accommodation with a sauna included.

    For your summer trip to Karuizawa

    We stayed as a group of five, including grandparents and a family of three (with an elementary school-aged boy). It takes about 30 minutes by rental car from Karuizawa. Unlike staying at a hotel, the mornings and evenings were very quiet with only locals around. After our stay, we visited a tourist facility near Karuizawa Station and appreciated the tranquility of the previous day even more. Before going, I was concerned that not having a TV might be boring, but we spent time talking as a family and taking walks. Surprisingly, we found that time can be well spent even without television. The emotional charm of the historic post town combined with its stylish blend of old and new provided both physical and mental relaxation—a realization that came after returning home. We would love to visit again!

    We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days to celebrate our child's first birthday.

    【Pros】 - The atmosphere of Unno-juku is delightful. - The shaved ice shop and soba restaurant within Unno-juku are incredibly delicious. - Although it's an electric sauna, it heats up to nearly 100°C, allows for löyly, and offers five types of aroma options. - You can fully relax in the Goemon-style cold bath located in the center of a Japanese garden. - Mornings and evenings are cool and comfortable (air conditioning is not necessary). 【Cons】 - The location of the dishwasher detergent is unclear. - The location of the ventilation fan is unclear. - The sliding door at the main entrance has poor alignment, making it difficult to open/close, and it cannot be locked. - There is no bathtub available. - There are no railings on the second floor stairs, so children cannot go up safely.

    Perfect even for families with small children!

    Because it’s a renovated traditional Japanese house, this Accommodation had an incredible sense of charm and atmosphere! 〇 It was a cold season with light snowfall, but warming up while adding logs to the wood-burning stove was pure bliss. → With the stove and air conditioning available, staying warm was never an issue. 〇 The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, which we really appreciated. → In addition to basic cookware and seasonings, there’s also an oven, microwave, sparkling water set, and coffee bean set—far more than we expected. 〇 Cooling down outdoors after the sauna while snowflakes danced in the air was truly amazing! → The cold plunge had ice on it—I didn’t have the courage to get in (lol). *The only downside was that there’s no bathtub, but there is a shower, and there are plenty of Onsen nearby, so it wasn’t a problem at all! 〇 In line with the concept, there’s no clock or TV. Instead, there’s a SONOS speaker—so we could enjoy gentle music at our own pace while savoring the ultimate wood-stove experience right in front of us. It was absolutely wonderful. 〇 Best of all was the owner’s incredibly warm and thoughtful hospitality! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
