    Chasing the Starry Sky

    I stayed here to photograph the beautiful starry sky. Unfortunately, the neighboring lights were on during the night, so I couldn’t capture it well, which was disappointing. However, the Room facilities were excellent, and I would like to stay again.

    It was excellent.

    This was my third visit this year. Every time I come, I am impressed by how clean the facility is and always leave satisfied. The welcome drink, seasonings, tableware, cooking utensils, and complete BBQ set are all provided, making it a perfect place where you can start a BBQ right away with just food and drinks in hand. This time, I noticed the charcoal was slightly used up and mentioned it to the staff at the management building—they kindly provided brand-new charcoal without hesitation. The sauna this time was a tent sauna instead of the usual one (the regular sauna was under maintenance). The staff generously allowed us to use as much firewood as we needed for the tent sauna, which made for an incredibly relaxing experience! (laughs) On our way out, despite making an unreasonable request to the staff at short notice, they promptly responded and handled it efficiently—thank you so much. A great facility like this makes me want to return again and again. Honestly speaking though, I don’t want too many people knowing about it because if it becomes too popular, I might not be able to secure a reservation when I want! My apologies to the owner… (laughs)

    Second stay...

    This is my second stay following last year. I am always satisfied with the lovely Room. I enjoy BBQ in the garden surrounded by nature, and I appreciate the well-prepared equipment. However, the rice cooker was broken and did not work properly. Also, the ceiling fan was difficult to operate, and I struggled with the remote control. Additionally, as was the case last year, there were many dead bugs on the window frame leading to the garden, so I had to start by cleaning them up. Without this issue, it would be perfect!

    It was excellent!

    The facility was excellent. The room and garden were spacious, clean, and comfortable. It also came with a private sauna, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious time. Additionally, the drinks in the refrigerator were free, and all necessary tools were provided, so we only needed to prepare ingredients ourselves. I would love to visit again.

    Dogs and Sauna

    We stayed at the accommodation with our dog. Check-in was completed at the golf practice area, and then we drove to the cottage located further in. (There is also a dog run beyond that.) The spacious living room with an earthen floor faces the garden, which features a small sauna hut. You can enjoy a barbecue in the garden or use the hot plate indoors for grilling if it rains. The accommodation is fully equipped with dishes and cooking utensils, and water and wine in the refrigerator were complimentary. They also provided treats, sheets, diapers, and other items for dogs—truly thoughtful service. We would love to visit again when we go to Takayama!

    Rain

    I didn't know that you can't have a bonfire on rainy days. At check-in, even though it was raining outside, I was told that additional firewood is available for an extra charge. At the end of the explanation, they added, almost as an afterthought, that we couldn't have a bonfire today because of the rain. The bath also didn't have hot water, and I couldn't add more water. There might be a setting somewhere, but I couldn't figure it out. There were some disappointing aspects, but considering that, I would like to stay again on a sunny day.
