    Mismatch between guest demographics and Facility/services

    I stayed here with high expectations based on a recommendation from a business partner, but overall I felt there was a gap between the price range and the level of service provided. For those looking to relax quietly, I’m sharing what I noticed. 1. Guest room / Facilities The room itself was standard, but amenities were limited to a toothbrush and cotton pads, and the coffee was only instant sticks—very minimal. At other Accommodations in the same price range, basic skincare items and drip coffee are often provided, so it felt lacking. I was also disappointed by details that suggested cleaning wasn’t thorough—for example, hair left on the terrace window frame and stains inside the refrigerator. That said, the view was outstanding, and it was pleasant to relax while looking out at Mt. Unzen across the water. 2. Privacy and surroundings Although it is marketed as a private rental unit, the seaside area functions as a walkway; guests heading to the main building could see directly into the room, making privacy difficult to maintain. I was also bothered by cigarette smoke from a neighboring cottage (perhaps non-smoking rules are not well communicated). Since there is no in-room phone or other way to contact reception immediately, I couldn’t consult anyone on the spot and felt at a loss. I would appreciate consideration of measures such as restricting passage on the seaside side. 3. Guest mix and overall atmosphere On my stay there were many younger groups, and loud voices outside continued late into the night. In particular, there were multiple instances where intoxicated guests seemed about to open my door at night, which made me feel very uneasy from a security standpoint. 4. Dining The restaurant offered hearty portions with flavors that would likely appeal to younger guests. I also appreciated having many non-alcoholic drink options. Overall The staff were excellent throughout, which makes it all the more unfortunate that there seems to be a mismatch in terms of physical aspects of the Accommodation and operational rules/management for this price point. Given what is currently offered, it may be better either to clearly target younger guests or—if positioning as an “adult resort”—to strengthen amenities appropriate for this price level along with clearer guidance/enforcement (non-smoking policy and manners). This stay did not match what I had been expecting in terms of style or atmosphere.

    The views were amazing, and the Facility was excellent!

    This was our family’s first trip to Amakusa, Kumamoto, and we stayed here. We had been looking forward to it even before we arrived, and the Accommodation was even more stylish than we expected—everywhere we went, we could feel the great sense of design. The Room was very clean, and the view from the villa was amazing. There were activities to enjoy both indoors and outdoors, and our child had a wonderful time. We rented a BBQ set, and everything was provided—so it was incredibly convenient to just bring our own ingredients and enjoy. The older male staff member at reception was very friendly and kind, and we also enjoyed hearing various stories from him. Unfortunately he wasn’t there when we checked out, so we couldn’t thank him in person, which was a real shame—but we’d love to make another opportunity to visit Amakusa and stay again. There is nothing around the Accommodation, so it’s very quiet; we could also enjoy a sky full of stars, making for an extremely relaxing time. Since there isn’t anywhere within shopping distance from the Accommodation, it might be even more comfortable if reception offered some snacks or if light meals were available at a café or restaurant—but overall it truly was a completely satisfying stay and an unforgettable place.     First-time user.

    I stayed here as the final accommodation of my trip to Kumamoto. The facility, meals, and location were excellent, but what impressed me the most was the quality of the guests. I believe the best aspect of this accommodation is that it does not target large groups or inbound tourists.

    It was relaxing.

    In a quaint port town, this exotic area suddenly appears, which was surprising at first. However, the hotel was very quiet and allowed us to relax fully. The room was a cottage type, so there was no need to worry about neighbors. With modern facilities, carefully selected furniture, and abundant amenities, we enjoyed a stay that felt one rank above our usual experience. The bathtub in the bathroom was large and luxurious. At night, we sat on the veranda chairs and enjoyed stargazing while having meaningful conversations with my wife. All the staff were bright and friendly in their service, which was delightful. The ceiling fan remote in the room didn’t work/I couldn’t figure out how to use it, and having bath salts would have been even better—so I rated the facility 4 stars. Breakfast was stylish and good but could be improved with more fruit options—also rated 4 stars for that reason. This time we missed making a dinner reservation on time and checked in late so couldn’t see the sunset; therefore, I’d love to visit again for a sunset dinner experience!

    Great view. However, breakfast evaluation is challenging.

    Visited Amakusa from Tokyo to create memories for our 42nd wedding anniversary. The full ocean view with a direct sight of Mount Unzen was breathtaking. Dinner was enjoyable with creative elements in the dishes. However, breakfast was quite disappointing—no salad or fruits, and it felt like just minestrone soup without much flavor.

    A Hotel I would love to stay at again!

    I stayed with my daughter at this accommodation. The hotel is small but very clean, and above all, the staff's service was truly excellent. The room was also clean and comfortable. One minor point is that the method to release the sink drain stopper was a bit unclear, so having a simple instruction manual in the room would be more helpful. Dinner was absolutely satisfying in both taste and portion! I forgot to inform them about my daughter's shrimp allergy beforehand, but they kindly accommodated us, for which I am very grateful. The facility also has a pool and sauna, allowing us to enjoy an unexpectedly fulfilling time. There is also a shared space available for guests to use freely, making it perfect for workations. With a fully equipped BBQ area as well, I’d love to try it next time. It was such a wonderful hotel that I would love to visit again. Thank you!

    Delicious cuisine that will leave you impressed.

    I stayed in a cottage-type accommodation. The terrace in front of the Room faced the sea, with a close view of Mount Unzen Fugendake. Although it was cloudy on the day of arrival, I was able to enjoy the view the next morning. The Room was new, very clean, and comfortable. Above all, both dinner and breakfast were innovative, delicious, and enjoyable. The hospitality was outstanding. I enjoyed sightseeing in Amakusa but plan to visit Nagasaki next time and would love to stay here again then.

    Perfect Hotel for Special Occasions

    I stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday! I ordered a birthday plate, and the staff brought the cake while singing, which made me very happy! The room was spacious and comfortable! It was such a great hotel that one night wasn't enough. I would love to stay here again!

    Sauna is amazing!

    The sauna was very hot and absolutely amazing. At certain times, it can be reserved for private use, allowing for a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain, we had to skip the pool, but instead enjoyed a leisurely time in the Room. The breakfast soup was delicious! The bread was also hearty and filling.

    Accommodation with excellent service and a comfortable atmosphere

    The service was excellent. The roasted marshmallows and hot wine at night were amazing. The dinner, featuring local ingredients, was delicious, but I felt the paella could be even better if the rice were a bit crispier. Improving the temperature and texture would make it perfect. I believe this is a great accommodation that fits well with modern times. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
