  Traditional Japanese House Accommodation Experience

  I experienced a stay at a renovated traditional Japanese house, originally an old merchant's home in Hagi. The service rating is marked as 1 because it operates as an Airbnb-style accommodation without staff. Amenities such as toiletries, tableware, a microwave, and a kettle were well-prepared, so there was no inconvenience. While preserving the original structure of the traditional house, it has been modernly renovated for comfortable living, making for an enjoyable stay. Across from the accommodation is a restaurant also converted from an old Japanese house. It serves as a café and can be used for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The space offers delicious French-inspired dishes made with local ingredients. The breakfast served there every morning was exceptional in both taste and serene atmosphere.

Our accommodation is a renovated warehouse of a seafood wholesaler, located in the historic Hamazaki district, which flourished as a port town near Hagi Castle. The space retains its original beams, preserving the atmosphere of this 200-year-old cultural property from the Edo period. We are honored that you found this ambiance pleasant and enjoyable. We are also thrilled to know that you were satisfied with breakfast at the restaurant across from our accommodation.
