    Family trip with a dog

    I was amazed by how luxurious it was at first. However, if items like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and kitchen paper are provided, I would have liked that to be stated in advance. I prefer to travel light, but I ended up bringing them unnecessarily. The Facility was well equipped, which was great. It was said that BBQ would be possible, but open flames were prohibited, so we couldn’t do it in the garden—disappointing. Since pets are allowed it can’t be helped, but the worn-out flooring didn’t feel very clean. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation for a large group.

    Family time together

    We stayed as a family of 10. We also had elementary school-aged grandchildren, and everyone enjoyed the stay together. Next time, they want to stay in a Room with a pool! Since there were only double futons, we thought it would be better to have single futons for each person.

    It was amazing!!

    My wife, our dog, and I stayed in a suite this time, and it was excellent. Next time, we’d like to try a different villa. The only slight disappointment was finding one snack wrapper left in the room, but everything else was very good!

    The sauna was ruined due to a malfunctioning heater.

    This was my second time using Rakuten STAY. As a sauna enthusiast, I started preparing the sauna right after check-in, but the heater wouldn’t start. While communicating with support, I had to crawl under the unit and press the Clear button, and ended up losing over an hour. Even after that, the heater kept malfunctioning—the power shut off again midway—so the sauna session felt unstable and stressful. That’s a risk with a standalone villa-type property; I’d like housekeeping to check that it’s working properly in advance. Also, I wish they could have extended checkout by at least one hour.

    The most spacious place I’ve ever stayed in.

    This was the most spacious Accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. We had a great time with our dog, and there was a piano that the kids enjoyed playing. We left the included dinner on the terrace and went to a nearby convenience store, but crows got to it and we couldn’t eat any of the meat, including the wagyu, so we ended up having to go buy more at a supermarket. Since there was a fence on the terrace, we never expected crows could get in. When we woke up the next morning, both my kids and I had lots of mosquito? mite? bites all over our bodies, which was a bit shocking, but other than that it was an excellent Accommodation.

    Pet-Friendly Facility Review

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days over Golden Week after getting a Toy Poodle, choosing this Accommodation so we could stay together. What we liked - Location (within a 5-minute walk to Kamogawa Sea World) - Quiet neighborhood - The bathroom was clean, and the shower water pressure was strong - The sauna was comfortable What we felt needed improvement - It was listed as having a dog run (with photos of grass), but the space was small and the grass was worn away with dirt showing. We couldn’t let our dog play there. - The linens felt damp overall - Wall stains were not cleaned - Insufficient cleaning inside the dog crate - Since the floors are wood, it’s easy for dogs to slip indoors We have stayed at other Rakuten STAY properties before and had high expectations, but this was our first pet-friendly property, and honestly it fell short. The level of satisfaction did not match the Golden Week pricing. Since many guests in the area were also traveling with dogs, I hope they will improve the Facilities for guests with pets.

    I have stayed at Rakuten STAY VILLA several times and booked with confidence based on my past experiences. However, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the Kamogawa Accommodation this time. A strong curry smell lingered inside and did not improve even with the windows left open. The sofa and chairs had noticeable stains, and there were burn marks on the table. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, but it was in such a condition that we even considered changing our Accommodation on the day of check-in. The Facility itself is well equipped and attractive, which is why I feel that more thorough cleaning and hygiene management would make the stay much more comfortable.

    There are not enough bedding items.

    We stayed as a group of seven university friends. There are two bedrooms with two large beds and four slightly larger futons. It seems unreasonable to accommodate up to 12 people with this setup. At the very least, there should be one futon per person. As the organizer, I ended up sleeping in a sleeping bag.

    Used for a slightly late summer family vacation.

    We used this villa for a late summer family vacation. Initially, we had planned to stay at another villa, but two days prior, we were informed of a double booking. Although we agreed to the alternative accommodation offered, it was canceled the day before due to facility issues. The second alternative did not meet our preferences, so we urgently searched on our own and found this villa. It met all our conditions: a pool, sauna, and bedrooms on the first floor. Additionally, it featured luxurious facilities such as an automatic piano and a projector-equipped theater space. Upon arrival, we were surprised by the sound of the self-playing piano welcoming us inside. Check-in was smooth; entering the pre-notified key number and confirming via an in-house pad completed the process. Despite last-minute changes in plans, my family was delighted with this luxurious villa. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the sauna followed by another dip in the pool. My elderly mother was particularly fascinated by the piano and had her share of fun too. However, as my mother uses a wheelchair, getting over the step at the entrance proved challenging—an additional lower platform would have been helpful. While there were two bathrooms and two toilets available for use, we opted for one with artificial onsen water. If rental options like shower chairs for caregiving purposes were available, she might have been able to enjoy bathing more comfortably. The complimentary drinks stocked in the refrigerator along with free access to a beer server (3L) added excitement to our stay! With Kamogawa Sea World nearby—we visited on day two—it’s convenient to check out at 9 AM and head straight there. Although we didn’t use BBQ grills but instead cooked using grill pans indoors amidst luxurious amenities like these—there were minor inconveniences such as non-functional dishwashers or having wet dressing areas when transitioning between saunas & pools without separate pathways avoiding them altogether! Overall though spaciousness combined w/ grandeur makes ideal settings perfect whether hosting multiple families/friends groups alike! Despite hectic circumstances leading up till finalizing reservations last minute glad everything worked out well ultimately!

    Musty smell

    I stayed in a room in Building C, but there was a moldy smell as soon as I opened the front door. The walls of the bedroom on the first floor were damp and smelled of mold, making it impossible to sleep at night. It might be tough for people with weak respiratory systems. My throat became swollen, and it was hard to breathe, so I booked another hotel and stayed there instead. I will not be returning.

    It was great to use it like a private villa.

    It was very convenient to check in and out directly from the Room without worrying about others. The Room showed signs of wear, with screws that had fallen off from unknown places and a door that seemed about to come off, so I felt building maintenance is necessary. Also, as others have mentioned, the mold in the bathroom was a bit concerning. Being able to use it like a private villa rental was great, but there was no designated place to dispose of accumulated trash, so it would be helpful if you could specify where to discard it.

    Spring Break Getaway

    This was our first time staying here. The building was incredibly clean, and the interior had a great atmosphere, making it feel like we were in a private home. The view from the window was a bit disappointing, but it couldn't be helped. My son loved the sauna so much that he used it at night and again first thing in the morning—he felt completely refreshed! Our dog enjoyed exploring freely in the garden. However, since it's a small dog, the stairs leading to the garden were too high for it to go down on its own—a ramp would have been helpful. For dinner, we ordered an assorted sashimi platter and were surprised by how generous the portions were! It exceeded our expectations. We also appreciated being able to cook rice ourselves—it added to the experience. For breakfast, we requested Japanese-style meals and were pleasantly surprised that each family member received different types of fish: horse mackerel, Pacific saury, mackerel, and barracuda—it was great to try such variety! It turned out to be a wonderful spring break for us all.

    We stayed for one night as a family. The room was spacious and generally clean, but the cleaning in detail was lacking. I found the previous guest's used slippers under the sofa and threw them away. As others have mentioned in their reviews, when I picked up the kitchen scissors, they fell apart and dropped to the floor. It's dangerous. The hot plate was also dirty, so I hope it will be cleaned thoroughly. The area around the bathtub in the bathroom was full of mold, so I suggest improvements. Checking in and out with the in-room tablet was smart and convenient. The room was well-designed for spending time leisurely without worrying about others.

    Although we were informed in advance that indirect lighting could not be used, it was very disappointing that the coffee machine was also unusable on the day. We had to go to a nearby convenience store to buy coffee, and we would have appreciated prior notice. Additionally, the key to enter the room was broken, and there was no prior notice about that either, which was inconvenient. The staff were cleaning until just before, but they left without explaining about the key, even though they knew we were waiting nearby until check-in time, so an explanation would have been appreciated. When we went out of our way to call the staff and ask about the key, they told us to report such matters to the support center, which was very disappointing even before check-in. We hope for thoroughness in staff response and room Facility.

    First trip with my grandchild

    I stayed here with my dog this spring, and this time I visited with my dog and grandchild. My son and his wife were very satisfied with the cutlery, appliances, sauna, and more, so I'm glad I brought them along. I was very happy when my daughter-in-law said she wanted to make this trip an annual tradition.
