It was a wonderful accommodation!
My first trip to Fukui, and my first time driving on snowy roads. I headed there feeling anxious because a heavy snow warning was in effect, but I’m truly glad I went. We stayed for one night and two days to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. The snowy scenery was so beautiful—I could have watched it forever—and we had such a wonderful time. At night, we snuggled up with an electric blanket and slept warmly. In the morning, we played in the snow together, and the jacuzzi was so amazing that we used it twice! We didn’t use the meal service; instead, we shopped near the station, brought everything back, and cooked for ourselves. There were plenty of seasonings available too, so we really enjoyed cooking together. No Meals Included is highly recommended. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that I almost didn’t want anyone else to know about it. The staff member Mima was very kind—by morning they had cleared the snow off our car and even shoveled snow for us—so we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. We’d love to visit again. Thank you very much!!

The Tranquility of Satoyama
The atmosphere created by the history of a 120-year-old house. Ample space and tranquility for a restful stay. A truly refreshing experience.

Unmatched satisfaction! Every detail of the accommodation is carefully crafted!
Overall, an unforgettable and highly satisfying experience! Among various options like onsen accommodations in famous hot spring towns or luxury hotels in the city, this stay was one of the most memorable. First, about the view. From the veranda, you can feel the blue sky and breeze while enjoying a stunning view of lush green fields and mountains. Interestingly, I learned that the rice field in front grows rare heirloom rice from the Edo period. If you visit during harvest season, you might even get a chance to taste it—something I’d love to try. While mountain accommodations often offer views of forests or streams nearby, this accommodation provides a breathtaking rural landscape from large windows in the main living area and even from its jacuzzi. For those seeking relaxation and serenity, I highly recommend this view. As for how to spend your time here: since I had some free time, I explored the neighborhood. The locals were friendly and welcoming, making me feel at ease. Walking along a nearby riverbank or visiting local souvenir shops and soba restaurants recommended by staff added charm to my stay. There were many stylish spots worth visiting within a compact area—I wish I'd planned more time for exploring. About the accommodation itself: as someone who appreciates design and architecture with an eye for detail, this place impressed me greatly. It skillfully preserves historical beams and pillars while incorporating modern updates seamlessly for comfort. Unlike some renovated accommodations where DIY elements or unsuitable materials detract from their appeal as guest spaces, this property maintains craftsmanship in details like fittings while using high-quality modern materials for areas such as living spaces, jacuzzis, and kitchens—showing meticulous attention throughout its design process. The traditional irori hearth was also delightful. Regarding meals: initially planning to bring our own ingredients for BBQs turned out unnecessary after contacting staff who kindly arranged an excellent BBQ meat course instead—and it was absolutely worth it! Far beyond typical "BBQ" standards; these meats rivaled those served at top-tier yakiniku restaurants! They source fresh cuts directly from local butchers supplying renowned establishments on reservation days—a testament to quality care taken here too! Sipping cold beer served in frosted glasses while watching sunsets over scenic landscapes made everything perfect—a luxurious blend combining great food with spectacular views truly defines indulgence here!

No breathtaking views, yet a place you'll want to visit again.
The most impressive aspects of this accommodation are its concept and management style. It highlights simple, everyday scenery and is run by an individual. First, there is a single sofa in a spacious room. There are no famous mountains like Mt. Fuji in sight, no nearby tourist attractions, no beautiful lakes as landmarks, no horizon views, or stunning nightscapes. What you see are ordinary rice fields and small hills that could be anywhere. The contrast of green is soothing to the eyes. A few white herons stroll happily through the rice fields, occasionally flying off and returning again. Tree branches sway gently in the breeze while white clouds stand out against the sky. Such scenery might be common in rural areas but feels extraordinary to me now. The setup here allows guests to enjoy this view and spend time leisurely. I learned that it’s managed by an individual owner; I had assumed it was a project launched by some company when I arrived at the accommodation and met a woman who seemed like a staff member—only to find out she runs everything herself. Meals are homemade by her as well; I had momiji nabe (venison hot pot). The venison had no gamey taste at all, complemented perfectly with sweet vegetables and meatballs—it was absolutely delicious! Eating around an irori (traditional sunken hearth) brought back childhood memories for me. The surrounding environment reflects traditional countryside charm with historical pillars and beams inside the building itself being part of an old farmhouse structure where even insects sneak through gaps sometimes—but facilities here are modernized! Tatami rooms have power outlets embedded into floors everywhere; there’s also an island kitchen equipped with high-end appliances like Balmuda bread makers alongside Wi-Fi connectivity & Bluetooth speakers available throughout too! Bathrooms feature spacious designs including jacuzzis overlooking serene rural landscapes allowing guests ultimate relaxation amidst air-conditioned comfort ensuring long baths remain enjoyable during summer heatwaves alike! Although my stay lasted only two days/one night overall spent mostly indoors enjoying expansive spaces within such beautifully restored architecture rather than venturing outside much further beyond premises themselves—this place truly offers ideal retreat experience especially suited towards urban dwellers seeking peaceful escapes immersed amidst tranquil countryside vibes unparalleled elsewhere nearby regions altogether!

It was a relaxing and lush green accommodation.
Thank you very much for this wonderful experience! We stayed with 8 adults, an 11-month-old baby, and two children aged 3. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, featuring a luxurious design with abundant use of zelkova wood. Outside, we enjoyed a stunning view of greenery and had a relaxing time. For meals, we were provided with BBQ facilities and brought in fresh seafood from Fukui Prefecture to enjoy alongside the meat provided. The amount of meat was more than sufficient, so we saved the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. However, there was only a small amount of cling wrap and zip-lock bags available, so it would have been even better if the stock of such supplies had been checked beforehand. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making this stay a memorable experience for our entire family. We would love to stay here again if given the opportunity!

An Extraordinary Healing Experience
We stayed as a family of five (2 adults, 1 child, and 2 infants). The experience of staying in a traditional Japanese house was refreshing and offered a unique sense of escape from the ordinary. The historical exterior and the clean, spacious interior allowed our children to play freely and enjoy their time. Since it was winter, we chose the game meat hot pot course. The venison hot pot had a rich flavor that I personally found delicious. However, as the taste can be slightly strong, some children might find it difficult to eat. It would have been even better if there were more kid-friendly ingredients like meatballs included in the dish. Additionally, while there was a good selection of alcoholic beverages, I noticed that non-alcoholic options like tea or water were limited. The nights were quiet, allowing us to sleep soundly. Waking up to the beautiful snow-covered landscape illuminated by the morning sun is an unforgettable memory. Next time, we look forward to visiting again in summer for what seems like an enjoyable barbecue course!

Whole House Rental - Feel at Home
I stayed with a friend's family. It was a whole house rental, so it felt like home. The children played in the snow outside until sunset, and then ran around in the spacious indoor area. We requested a meal by the hearth, but we also brought our own ingredients and enjoyed the meal prepared and served to us. The children enjoyed grilling their favorite meats and preparing Echizen crabs, spending their time as they liked. The Echizen crabs prepared for us were also impressive. The adults brought their favorite drinks and leisurely enjoyed them. We felt a bit guilty for bringing so much of our own stuff. The lacquerware dishes and Echizen forged knives and tools were very elaborate, and I was so surprised by their usability that I considered purchasing them myself, but the price was too high, so I gave up. The interior was warm. Only the changing room of the bath was cold, but I think it was unavoidable due to the structure. The jacuzzi was wonderful. The futons in the bedroom were comfortable, and I slept soundly. Both the children and adults were very satisfied.
