    Wonderful!

We arrived later than planned, so it was disappointing that we couldn’t make use of the various Facilities. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere and felt very relaxing. The blend of that calm ambiance with modern features such as the unit bath was lovely and very comfortable. The staff’s smiles and thoughtful hospitality were also wonderful. We only had breakfast, but it made great use of local ingredients and was delicious! It’s definitely a place we’d like to visit again when we can take our time.

    A great accommodation.

The service was excellent. There are also Facilities nearby where you can enjoy hands-on experiences. When going out for meals, they drove us by cart, which was very helpful even in the heat. It’s close to Shizuoka Station, and I didn’t expect to find such a relaxing Accommodation so nearby. I would recommend this Accommodation to others.

A relaxing accommodation recommended for guests who love traditional Japanese houses and crafts.

I love traditional Japanese houses and crafts, so this was my first stay here. It was only for one night, but thanks to the attentive service I felt very relaxed throughout. The Accommodation is a beautifully renovated traditional house, and the water-related Facility—especially the bath and toilet—are modern and very comfortable. I was told there aren’t many places nearby for dinner at night, so I ate at nearby Chojiya; it had a wonderful atmosphere in a charming building and the food was delicious. For breakfast I went to Wakamatsu, and it was beautifully presented, gentle on the body, and extremely satisfying. If possible, I thought it would be convenient to have light snacks or drinks available for purchase at the front desk or similar. Since Takumishuku—a facility where you can shop for crafts and enjoy various experiences—is very close by, there’s plenty to enjoy during your stay. It’s also an area where you can enjoy the atmosphere of an old post town, so taking a walk was fun as well. I also think one of the best parts of a small Accommodation is how friendly and approachable all the staff are. This time I stayed in the front building, but next time I’d like to try staying in the annex as well.

    Disappointing

I have visited various places and used different accommodations, but this one was not good. The bath area was extremely crowded. There were no bath towels available, and we were given two face towels instead. As people in our 70s, this accommodation did not suit us.

I want to live in a house like this!

A beautifully designed accommodation combining a charming traditional Japanese house with Scandinavian furniture, complete with ample heating and a sauna for ultimate comfort. It felt like an ideal home—perfect as a second house (if I win the lottery)! However, using the advanced devices like tablets and projectors was slightly inconvenient due to unfamiliarity. The restaurant served meals in a set style, which was a bit disappointing for someone like me who enjoys discussing dishes and wine with the staff. Additionally, only fish dishes were available that day, which was surprising. Despite these minor drawbacks, it was an overall wonderful stay.

    Relax and Enjoy!

Stayed with my cousin. Although I live locally, I had always been interested in "Waraku" and found it perfect for hosting my cousin. The room was adorned with traditional crafts from Shizuoka, offering a relaxing space that even locals rarely get to experience. Around Takumi Accommodation, there are unique shops and small art museums, making for an enjoyable stroll. The bathing facility is not an onsen but features a semi-open-air bath surrounded by greenery, with the perfect temperature to warm up thoroughly (free for guests). Dinner at my favorite "Simples" was absolutely satisfying as expected. Breakfast at "Wakamatsu" was filled with local ingredients (including tororo soup and Shizuoka oden). I had the chance to have meaningful conversations with my cousin after decades, making this stay truly fulfilling. A wonderful auberge! I would love to visit again if given the opportunity. Thank you very much!

An Accommodation You'll Want to Stay at Again and Again

I found this accommodation while searching for one with a sauna. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the atmosphere of the annex exuded charm in every aspect. Although there was no stove, the refined kitchen area, bedroom, and traditional touches in the amenities were delightful, making my 2-night stay very comfortable. The sauna-equipped bathroom was more spacious than expected, and I used it multiple times. Breakfast was included and satisfying; however, nearby dinner options tend to be quite upscale, so I recommend researching beforehand. Experiencing open-air baths and crafting traditional items also made for wonderful memories.

    This is my second stay.

I stayed in a Room with a sauna. The space from the gate to the garden was spacious and very private, allowing for great relaxation. The Room was large, and both the sauna and bath were excellent. It would be even better if the cold bath were slightly cooler!

    My weary heart was healed.

I visited for the sauna, but the hinoki bath was even more relaxing. I also enjoyed the hotel's specialty beer and ice cream. Absolutely satisfied!!

    Sauna & SIMPLES

We stayed for two nights. Here are the highlights, in order of what left the strongest impression: 1. The meals at the adjacent Facility "Simples" (the quality of ingredients and the skill to maximize their potential). It might be worth staying here just for these meals. 2. The indoor hinoki cypress bath (one large and one small tub) with its soothing aroma. The tubs are still new and spotless, providing a truly relaxing experience. 3. The renovated traditional Japanese house offers an atmosphere and tranquility that perfectly suits our age group. The pillars, old fittings, bamboo-crafted lighting fixtures, and other furnishings were exceptional. 4. A special thanks to the head chef of Japanese cuisine for your kind hospitality and guidance during our stay! Since we had no direct interaction with front desk or room staff, we were able to relax peacefully thanks to you. Points that could be improved: 1. I’m not accustomed to using iPads regularly, so dealing with screen locks or password settings was a bit inconvenient for me. 2. The showerhead water pressure felt harsh on my skin; considering how great the baths are here, perhaps upgrading to microbubble technology would enhance the experience. 3. I found it difficult to wear the provided yukata robe (though I brought my own bathrobe so didn’t use it). 4. It would have been nice if there was a household ice maker in-room since there’s no access to ice after 6 PM when front desk staff leave. 5. On my second morning during our Multiple Night Stay, I was looking forward to my once-a-year indulgence of "post-morning-bath beer," but unfortunately alcohol wasn’t available at Wakamatsu—what a pity. That said, we had an incredibly relaxing time overall! Including efforts toward local town development around this area—it’s truly commendable work!

    It was excellent.

I stayed in the Fuji Room. It was very beautiful, clean, and the room's facilities were more than sufficient. The furniture, amenities, and room wear were crafted like works of art and truly lovely. However, I found it a bit difficult to understand the instructions for using the bath. As others have mentioned, the location of the front desk was also a little hard to find. For dinner, we chose Waraku instead of Simples, and every dish was delicious. The explanations about both the food and the serving dishes added to our enjoyment—completely satisfying! The recommended local sake matched perfectly as well. Breakfast exceeded expectations with natural yam dishes and Shizuoka oden. The indigo dyeing experience at one of the attached facilities was even more enjoyable than expected and became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much!

    This is a renovated ...

This is a renovated Property adjacent to a facility where you can experience traditional crafts of Shizuoka Prefecture, called Takumi Stays. Despite being a renovation, the interior is adorned with crafts, and several famous chairs are installed. The flow from the sauna to the bath is well thought out. There are six types of craft experiences available; I chose bamboo work, which was well done and quite interesting. Additionally, the selection at the shop shows excellent taste. Dinner is Italian cuisine and breakfast is Japanese cuisine at an affiliated restaurant (2 minutes on foot). Both were plentiful in quality and very satisfying.

Repeat confirmed. We had a fulfilling time.

It was a very lovely Stays. The whole town had a nice atmosphere, and it was wonderful to experience beautiful crafts as the name Takumi Stays suggests. The staff were very pleasant to talk to and their service was excellent. I was worried that the Room might be small, but it felt surprisingly spacious, compact, and comfortable. It was clean, but I was concerned about the smell in the toilet. It might be a plumbing issue. That was the only reason I rated it 4 stars. We visited for the purpose of having dinner at Simples, and it was indeed a renowned restaurant. Each dish was wonderful. The breakfast was gentle on the body, a wonderful start to a good day. You can spend two fulfilling days with the Stays, meals, and experiences. It was a Stays I would like to visit about once every six months. Thank you again.

It was the best private rental. The sauna and hospitality were excellent, and the surrounding environment was wonderful, scoring 120 points. I definitely want to use it again.

I had a well-balanced time with the sauna and digital detox. The traditional Japanese house Stays was far more wonderful than the image seen in the photos. With heartfelt amenities and cleanliness, it is a Property I can recommend. I used it alone this time, but I was able to spend a meaningful time indulging in the sauna, so I also recommend it for solo use. I will repeat my visit.

    It was wonderful.

The charm of the old house was preserved, and attention was paid to everything from the furniture to the switches, which was wonderful. The front desk was hard to find, and I ended up going all the way to the front of the Room with my suitcase. I thought that was the only thing that needed attention.

I was impressed. Not only the sauna, but I felt attention to detail everywhere. I would like to use it again on a special occasion. Thank you very much.
