    We had a wonderful time.

I traveled with my dog and my elderly parents. Because my mother was undergoing breast cancer treatment, we ruled out Accommodations with large shared baths that would be used together with other guests. That’s why this kind of private, whole-house rental traditional farmhouse Accommodation was truly appreciated, and it was our first time staying here. We also found the service very comfortable—welcoming and thoughtful, yet not intrusive, with just the right sense of distance. Since the interior is a renovated old house, most areas are wooden floors except for the tatami Room(s). To be honest, that can be hard on a dog’s paws, but if you bring blankets or similar items and make sure your dog has soft places to rest and walk on as much as possible, it isn’t an issue at all. The meals provided were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. There was even a massage chair in the spacious earthen-floor area, which our family took turns using. It seems there are several other Accommodations in this series as well, so next time I’d like to visit a different one too.

A private retreat to enjoy both summer and winter in an entire rental property.

A private stay unique to renting an entire traditional Japanese house. We enjoyed a BBQ in the garden with seafood we brought, relaxed in the sauna, and even our dog had the freedom to roam. The large bath allowed us to enjoy a relaxing soak with our children. With separate bedrooms, we’d love to come back with extended family or friends for a larger group stay next time! Indoors, there’s a table equipped with a large iron griddle, perfect for enjoying teppanyaki on rainy days or during winter instead of BBQs. There’s also a pellet stove, making it an enjoyable spot even in colder seasons. Conveniently located near a convenience store, we felt at ease throughout our stay. We fully enjoyed this special time just for ourselves!

    This was our first t...

This was our first time staying at Nami no Ie. Since it’s a whole house rental, we could relax and enjoy ourselves without worrying about disturbing others, even with the kids running around. The Room was spacious and had a nostalgic atmosphere while being renovated for comfort. I especially loved the massage chair in the earthen floor area. There was also a tent sauna, and after getting refreshed, we enjoyed an exquisite craft beer. We chose No Meals Included to bring our own food for a BBQ dinner, which turned out to be the right choice. We only needed to bring ingredients as everything else was provided, making cleanup easy and allowing the kids to eat what they liked—they seemed very happy! After dinner, we were able to enjoy fireworks together as a family, creating wonderful memories. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive to our children while maintaining just the right distance for us to feel comfortable with their service. We would love to stay here again as a family if we have another opportunity!

A traditional Japanese accommodation where you can feel thoughtful touches and spend time with your beloved dog.

Nami no Ie This was our first stay at Nami no Ie. Our family has three dogs, and since they tend to feel uneasy around other dogs, this traditional Japanese-style accommodation that allows pets and is rented out as a whole house is truly valuable. Located about a 10-minute drive from Onjuku Beach, Nami no Ie offers a nostalgic yet renovated atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance—not overly modern but very comfortable. Our dogs were initially excited when we got out of the car but quickly settled down after exploring the earthen floor area. The massage chair placed in the earthen floor area was a hit with my husband, who immediately used it to relieve his driving fatigue. The backyard provided an open space with a sense of freedom, making it seem like an enjoyable spot for dining outdoors. Although we didn’t use it this time, there’s also a self-service sauna available—perfect for sauna enthusiasts! There’s even a dedicated space for relaxation after your sauna session and free craft beer to enjoy—a dream come true for sauna lovers! While I’m not much of a beer drinker myself, I found the craft beer here light and delicious. We opted to add dinner and breakfast during our stay. For dinner, we chose the teppan creative course meal. A staff member carefully grilled each dish on an iron plate right in front of us and served them at their peak flavor moments. The fresh seafood—including half an Ise lobster per person—was luxurious, while the Kazusa beef steak was absolutely delicious as well. The staff were incredibly kind; they adored our three dogs so much that both we and our pets felt warmly welcomed—they even became quite attached to them! After dinner dessert (ice cream) was thoughtfully stored in the freezer when they noticed how full we were so that we could enjoy it later after bathing—a small but heartwarming gesture. Breakfast featured steamed dishes prepared using simple steps anyone can follow—it was healthy yet flavorful—a wonderful way to start our day! My favorite part of Nami no Ie was definitely its bath area: spacious with stone-tiled design elements complemented by high ceilings offering views outside—it felt wonderfully open! With check-out allowed until 11 AM—we had plenty of time post-breakfast—to relax further by taking another bath or simply unwinding leisurely before departure!

Please improve as it is dangerous.

I usually don't write low scores or bad Reviews, but I felt it was dangerous, so I decided to write this here. On the official website, there are photos of dogs running freely without a leash in the backyard, but there is a train running right in front of the backyard. Yet, there is no fence. Without a fence, not only dogs but also children and adults could be at risk if they step out. Please make sure to install a fence or clearly state the danger, and inform guests during check-in. It is truly dangerous. Also, please be present during check-in. I waited 10 to 15 minutes wondering what to do as the Room was vacant. Regarding the tent sauna, you mentioned that the temperature doesn't rise because it's winter, but there are places where it does. I don't think the cold is the reason. The maximum temperature was only about 50 degrees. As for the meal, I chose teppanyaki, but it was too simple. This might be a matter of opinion, but I was not satisfied. The indoor bath kept repeating an announcement about reheating, which wouldn't stop, and it was honestly scary. No one came to see us off when we left either. Is this really acceptable? Everyone's high ratings are very puzzling to me. Above all, I strongly request measures regarding the fence.
