  Hmm...

  I stayed at Setouchi Terrace Umi-niwa for two nights. The staff were kind and attentive, and the accommodation, a renovated traditional house, had a charming atmosphere that I really enjoyed. However, the accommodation is far from the reception area and requires walking uphill on a mountain path, which might be challenging for families with small children in strollers or elderly guests with mobility issues. Additionally, being located in the mountains means insects can enter the building. While moths or grasshoppers might be understandable, there were centipedes as well. Over my two-night stay, I found about 10 insects inside the building—both alive and dead—including large ones and small ones. Honestly, it was too many; my child was scared and it became quite difficult to manage. While I understand that being close to nature comes with some trade-offs and that pest control may be challenging in such an environment, considering that the price is not inexpensive, this aspect was disappointing. I hope improvements will be made in the future!

  Regarding Accommodation

  It was a very lovely accommodation, but perhaps due to timing, we were unable to get in touch and couldn't find the parking space reserved for our stay. Additionally, we were surprised to be served alcohol without prior confirmation. While understanding things from the guest's perspective is important, providing service that considers what guests may not know is also crucial. Everyone was satisfied with the facility itself. Thank you very much!

As our accommodation is operated by a small team, we may not be able to answer phone calls during check-in hours as all staff are assisting guests. If you are unsure about the parking location, please feel free to stop by the front desk upon arrival, and our staff will guide you to the parking area. The alcohol we provided was "Homeishu," a specialty of Tomo. For adult guests, we explain that it contains alcohol before serving. Since you were unable to enjoy it this time, we offered Homeishu throat candies instead. Thank you for letting us know. At our accommodation, we strive to provide an experience that allows guests to feel the lifestyle of Tomo. During check-in, we aim to personally guide and communicate with each guest so that this moment becomes part of your memories. Thank you again for sharing your valuable feedback with us.
