    The Perfect Stay

We stayed with no meals included, and it was the perfect choice for us to enjoy quality time together without worrying about others. The highlight was being able to use the irori (traditional Japanese hearth). We brought meat and ingredients we picked up along the way and slowly grilled them over the charcoal fire of the irori. The aroma of the charcoal was delightful. We also made a hot pot, and it was convenient that all necessary cooking utensils were provided. Cooking together created enjoyable moments as well. Of course, the sauna was fantastic too. With ponchos provided, we could even enjoy an outdoor cool-down session in chilly weather. Although it's a traditional Japanese house, it has been tastefully renovated. The facilities like plumbing and air conditioning are well-maintained, making it clean and comfortable to stay in. The historical earthen floor area is charming as well—every corner is picture-perfect. We’re looking forward to visiting other accommodations by Ruuf that we haven’t been to yet! Highly recommended accommodation—thank you very much!

Ultimate Refreshment: Reduce All Stress to Zero

Staying at Ruuf Ori no Ie provided a special experience that allowed me to forget my daily routine. The luxury of watching anime and streaming on a large screen was an extraordinary experience. It greatly enhanced my enjoyment of my favorite activities. Sweating it out in the sauna left me feeling refreshed both physically and mentally. Spending time idly on the deck brought immense happiness, and at night, I enjoyed handheld fireworks by the comforting glow of a campfire, creating a luxurious moment in the quiet mountains. Taking a break surrounded by the aroma of freshly ground coffee was delightful. For dinner, we cooked our own meal this time, but being able to freely choose plates and glasses to match the scene made dining even more enjoyable. Being in the mountains means there are many insects; however, measures like mosquito coils were well-prepared, allowing for a worry-free stay. This experience offered unparalleled refreshment. The stress from daily life completely disappeared. Honestly, it makes me wonder if I can be satisfied with other accommodations in the future—it was so wonderful that I definitely want to visit again!

    Completely satisfied.

This stay was with a foreign friend, and we chose this accommodation to let them experience the Japanese summer. They were absolutely delighted, and we were able to let them enjoy experiences like an irori (traditional hearth), tatami room, campfire, sauna, freshly brewed coffee, and fireworks. The amenities are abundant, so you can come empty-handed. Thoughtful touches like post-bath ice cream, pajama socks, drinks, and bath amenities are sure to please women as well. It's the perfect blend of a ryokan and hotel! Personally, I was impressed by the quality of the projector and the variety of bath amenities. You can also purchase sake from Sasaichi Brewery in Yamanashi—a nice touch for locals to enjoy as well. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity!

The ultimate hospitality! Relaxing traditional Japanese farmhouse experience!

Thank you for staying at the traditional Japanese house accommodation, Ruufu Orinoie, last week. We appreciate the staff's detailed explanations and attentive service. Thanks to them, we had a memorable and enjoyable experience and were able to relax in a quiet environment. The facility was well-equipped, featuring an outdoor bath with a sauna and an indoor bath where we could enjoy Japanese sake—allowing us to spend our time luxuriously. We also enjoyed watching movies with family on a large screen while sipping drinks, making it feel like there wasn’t enough time to fully unwind! For meals, we relished local ingredients prepared as irori-style skewers over charcoal fire. The aroma of the charcoal enhanced the flavor of the food even more. For a late-night snack, we enjoyed rice balls made from leftover rice with just salt seasoning. Breakfast included steamed vegetables in Japanese style—a great way to have vegetables that are usually skipped during morning meals. At night, we experienced something out of our daily routine by enjoying a bonfire—and even saw what looked like "a flying train." In the dark surroundings of nature, trains running through mountains appeared as if they were flying in mid-air under clear starry skies—a sight that became very popular among my family. Initially expecting just an old traditional house stay, I came to realize how well-equipped this accommodation is overall—with excellent facilities and attentive staff making it perfect for relaxation. Additionally, nearby attractions such as Yamanashi Linear Motor Test Center and Fuji-Q Highland make it ideal for combining sightseeing during the day with BBQs at night for multiple-night stays next time! Lastly (on a personal note), while I thoroughly enjoyed using various kitchen facilities—including grinding coffee beans myself for morning coffee—some family members prefer bread for breakfast; having an oven toaster might make mornings even more delightful!

The best traditional Japanese accommodation experience! Grateful for the heartwarming hospitality!

In June 2025, I had the pleasure of staying at the traditional Japanese accommodation, Ruufu Orinoya. During my stay, I had a wonderful time and am truly grateful. - Excellent service and facilities! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm smiles and courteous assistance from all staff members. I was guided on how to check in using a tablet, which was simple and convenient. Afterward, a staff member kindly explained the facilities in detail. The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable to stay in. The indoor and outdoor baths (including a sauna) were especially relaxing and helped me unwind from daily stress. For entertainment, there were traditional games like karuta cards, kendama toys, bamboo stilts—perfect for enjoying nostalgic fun! - Outstanding cuisine! The meals were absolutely delicious; for dinner, we enjoyed grilled skewers prepared over an irori hearth. Every dish made with local ingredients was exquisite both in taste and presentation—a feast for all senses! The flavors of char-grilled iwana fish, Koshu beef steak, and clay pot rice are unforgettable. - Thoughtful hospitality that touched our hearts! From detailed explanations during our initial tour to engaging conversations while preparing skewers at dinner—the staff’s attentiveness made every moment enjoyable. Since I am pregnant, they even pointed out areas where it might be easy to trip—this thoughtful care meant so much to me. Additionally—and perhaps because my husband mentioned my birthday beforehand—we were surprised with marshmallows by an outdoor bonfire as part of their kind gestures throughout our stay; these little touches created memories we’ll cherish forever. - Thank you for such wonderful memories! Ruufu Orinoya exceeded expectations across all aspects: facilities, service quality & dining experience—it truly stands out as exceptional accommodation worth revisiting someday soon! One minor note: there seemed to be slight dampness odor lingering around provided loungewear attire alongside residual smoky scent clinging onto clothes post-bonfire activities—but honestly speaking those small inconveniences pale compared against overwhelmingly positive experiences shared among family members who left feeling equally delighted overall!! Thank You So Much Once Again!!

    I stayed at Ruuf Ori...

I stayed at Ruuf Orinoie. In one word, it was an accommodation where you can experience the luxury of "doing nothing." The space, a carefully renovated over 100-year-old traditional Japanese house, exudes great taste and a serene atmosphere that makes time feel like it's flowing gently. The moment I stepped through the entrance, I felt the air soften, and my heart began to relax right after check-in. Inside was very clean with comfortable furniture, lighting, and decor that made me feel as if I were "living" there during my stay. The most memorable spot was the engawa (veranda). Just gazing outside from there made me lose track of time—it was such a pleasant place. In the evening, I enjoyed the sauna that I'd been looking forward to! The temperature got quite high, and I ended up going in multiple times. The cold bath used mountain spring water and was incredibly refreshing—an ideal setting overall. There was also a relaxation space where I could unwind completely; it felt like such an indulgent experience that time flew by too quickly. This time we chose a No Meals Included plan so meals weren't provided; however, we had BBQ by the irori (traditional hearth) at night—a luxurious BBQ with the aroma of charcoal filling the air. Since meal plans are available here as well, next time I'd love to try either skewers or kaiseki cuisine prepared on their irori. The staff's hospitality was also delightful—maintaining just enough distance while engaging in natural conversations when needed. There wasn't any excessive service but everything necessary came across clearly—a balance that truly reflects this accommodation's charm. There were so many things to do here that it felt like there wasn’t enough time—it’s such an indulgent place to stay! I'm already looking forward to visiting again next time!

    The best traditional Japanese accommodation!

The first thing that impressed me upon arrival was the spacious open area with a high ceiling. The atmosphere, unique to a traditional Japanese house, was truly captivating. After check-in, I enjoyed a luxurious and relaxing time sipping on drinks. The provided projector allowed for movie watching, and I also enjoyed playing music. The meals were absolutely fantastic. It was my first time experiencing hearth-cooked dishes, and the staff took care of everything from preparation to cleanup, making it feel incredibly indulgent. Not only did I enjoy various types of skewers, but the beautiful presentation made it visually delightful as well. The staff perfectly adjusted the grilling for an exceptional dining experience filled with hospitality. Breakfast featured steamed dishes served in a bamboo steamer along with salmon, rice, and miso soup—a gentle menu that paired perfectly with the morning sunlight. Taking my time to savor breakfast in such a serene setting was truly pleasant. Additionally, enjoying a campfire added to this extraordinary experience. And then there’s the highlight—the sauna! A spacious and comfortable sauna paired with an ice-cold water bath and refreshing outdoor air created an ideal environment for sauna enthusiasts like myself. The bath was also wonderful; opening the window gave it an open-air feel similar to a semi-outdoor bath. Both at night and in the morning, I felt completely relaxed while soaking in its comfort. Honestly speaking, one night wasn’t enough! Next time I’d love to stay longer with more people at this amazing accommodation. It’s definitely somewhere I want to visit again!

    Relaxing Traditional Japanese House Inn

The accommodation I stayed at this time was a wonderful place with the charm of a renovated traditional house. While the exterior exuded a sense of history, the interior incorporated modern elements, with thoughtful touches throughout to ensure a comfortable stay. What left a particularly strong impression were the bath and sauna, both of which were extremely clean and provided a relaxing space. The bath allowed for a leisurely soak, and the sauna was spacious enough to accommodate several people at once, offering a refreshing experience. The living room was also spacious, making it an ideal space to relax with family or friends. We enjoyed watching Netflix at our leisure using the built-in projector. Overall, I had the best experience at this accommodation, where the unique charm of a traditional house and comfort were seamlessly blended. I definitely want to visit again!
