    The place was spacio...

    The place was spacious and comfortable, but I was a bit disappointed with the towels. Bath towels and hand towels were provided, but I couldn’t find any face towels even after looking around. I’m not sure if they weren’t provided in the first place, but it was a little inconvenient. Other than that, there were no particular issues.

    Areas for Improvement

    We were very satisfied. We stayed 2 nights in House Villa Building B with our dog, and also added the sauna as an option. Comfort Highlights - Dogs are allowed, but there was no dog smell at all - The yard has artificial turf, so even after rain our dog could run around freely without worry - Check-in/check-out was very easy - Plenty of kitchenware, towels, etc. available to use - The beds were large and there were two types of pillows → our whole family slept well - The sauna was already hot when we arrived, and we were able to use it fully until check-out - There is a delicious bakery within a 10-minute walk → We took a morning walk, bought bread, and had it for breakfast Points for Improvement - None of the three provided knives cut well at all - The bathroom had a slight odor → we did a quick clean ourselves before using it - Water tends to pool around the sink drain → we also tried cleaning it with a liquid cleaner, but it seemed clogged deeper inside and did not improve If these points are improved, I think the stay would be even more comfortable. The building felt slightly worn in places, but it was convenient for visiting Harunire Terrace and the outlet mall. It was a great villa where you can stay with your dog while still relaxing comfortably.

    Family Trip with Your Dog, Footbath Wing

    This was our second stay, the first in two years. Just like last time, the place was thoroughly cleaned and we had a very comfortable stay. We also enjoyed the Tsuruya apple juice (I believe it was a repeat-guest perk). What we love most about this Accommodation is the great location and how comfortable it is not only for people but also for dogs. The fenced yard covered with wood chips can be used as a private dog run, so we could skip walks when needed—easy for us, and our dog looked like they were having a great time too. The only inconvenience is that there are no amenities such as a skincare/lotion set, but we knew this in advance from the Accommodation information and brought our own, so it wasn’t an issue at all. Please keep this in mind if you plan to stay here. There were two hair dryers provided, which was great since our two teenage children could use them at the same time. The foot bath was also wonderful. Soaking our feet after waking up while drinking the provided drip coffee felt like forest bathing and was truly relaxing. Contactless check-in and check-out were easy and very convenient. Because everything is contactless, we didn’t meet any staff in person, but everything was well prepared for a comfortable stay—thank you very much.

    It was very good.

    Considering the price, it exceeded my expectations. The Facility was clean and comfortable, and even at a higher rate, I would be very satisfied with this level of quality. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

    It wasn’t an Accommodation I’d want to stay at again.

    The Room design was cute, but everything else was truly disappointing. First of all, the cleaning was completely inadequate. The floor was pitch-black, and the washing machine was covered in dust. When we used a lint roller on the sofa, we picked up a large amount of hair and snack crumbs—it did not feel cleaned at all. The humidifier was full of red mold, and we didn’t feel safe using it as-is, so we ended up cleaning it ourselves. The bathroom was also terrible. The blinds were broken, leaving the bath visible from the neighboring house. Why should guests have to deal with faulty Facility equipment? There was also mold on the bathroom floor, and it made our stay uncomfortable throughout. The garden was overgrown with weeds and clearly not maintained at all. The neighboring property looked like a hoarder house, making the surroundings unpleasant as well. Because it felt so unhygienic, we cleaned the floor, sofa, humidifier, and more ourselves during our stay. Even though we paid an Accommodation Fee, I never expected to have to clean after arriving. Honestly, I’m shocked this is being operated as an Accommodation in this condition. Making only the Room look nice while neglecting cleaning and Facility maintenance to this extent is a serious issue. We had been looking forward to this trip, so it was extremely disappointing—and I cannot accept having to pay an Accommodation Fee for this experience. It left us so dissatisfied that we feel entitled to request a refund.

    Our family (six adul...

    Our family (six adults) stayed in the Hinoki Bath building. Overall it was good, but here are a few points we noticed. [Bath] When rinsing the corners of the washing area with the shower, small black specks of debris (dirt?) washed out. [Skylight blinds in the bedrooms] In two of the three Rooms, the skylights were broken and could not be opened or closed. We couldn’t block out the morning sun, and it was very bright. [Ants] After waking up, we found ants on the living Room table. It seemed like they were coming into the building through a gap in/around the washroom. They were not present during hours when people were active. We also did not leave any leftover food on the table or in the kitchen. [Amenities in the washroom] We had enough bath towels and hand towels for everyone, but there were only an odd number of small towels (for drying hands?) placed next to the sink basin, so everyone hesitated to use them. We would have liked one per person. Thank you very much.

    Use of the sauna building for two guests (a couple).

    We stayed as a couple for a workcation. Surrounded by nature in a quiet setting, it was wonderful to be able to work and still relax at our own pace. This time we also used the BBQ area in the sauna building, and the temperature was just right. The cold plunge in March was ice-cold—10 seconds was my limit—but it was a great experience! Being able to sip wine while watching the fireplace at a Karuizawa villa was also amazing. It felt like a luxurious getaway that’s hard to find in central Tokyo. The Room was very clean, and everything felt new and comfortable overall. The bathroom in particular was spacious, with two sinks and a large mirror, which made getting ready in the morning very convenient. The Facility items such as the hair dryer and shower head were high quality, and we could really feel the attention to detail (especially important for women!). It was a stay where we could both work and recharge, and we’d love to stay again next time we visit Karuizawa.

    It was the perfect villa in Karuizawa to enjoy the luxury of doing nothing!

    I stayed at Karuizawa House Villa, which I’d been looking forward to for a long time, and it was far beyond my expectations! The moment you open the door, you’re greeted by an airy, open living room and simple interior design that instantly lifts your mood. Relaxing on the large sofa while watching the flames in the wood-burning stove is pure bliss. The bath was also wonderfully soothing with the scent of hinoki cypress, offering a private feel like a luxury Ryokan. There’s also a large projector, so you can enjoy movies at night—perfect for groups or families without ever getting bored. Everything was spotless down to every corner, and even the choice of amenities showed the owner’s attention to detail. This is an exceptional stay-in Accommodation that truly makes you think, “I don’t want to leave!” I’ll definitely be back in another season.

    It was a wonderful accommodation!!

    It was a very comfortable Accommodation where you can enjoy the feel of a Karuizawa villa. Since it is rented as an entire house, our family could relax in privacy, and we enjoyed the wood-burning stove and projector late into the evening. The kitchen and living room Facilities are well equipped, making this an Accommodation that guests of all ages can enjoy.

    We stayed for two ni...

    We stayed for two nights from the year-end through the 2nd. I often stay in whole-house rentals, but honestly this was disappointing for the price. First, when we arrived, the neighboring house was left in a half-collapsed state, which felt eerie. Even when I tried to take photos of my dog playing on the lawn, it was all visible in the background. In the kitchen, the fish grill area was left as-is after use and hadn’t been cleaned, which was unpleasant. The ground under the lawn in the yard was also uneven and bumpy. The sauna temperature was low and it didn’t feel like a sauna at all. The amenities were not well stocked, and the slippers were paper ones like you’d find at a Business Hotel. Most disappointing of all: there was no dishwasher. For someone who normally uses a dishwasher, it was simply painful. There wasn’t even anything to place washed dishes to drain them, so we had to keep wiping them dry repeatedly. Spending New Year’s doing that felt more burdensome than being at home. If it were inexpensive I could accept it for what it is, but given that it’s New Year’s and reasonably priced—even without any meals included—I didn’t feel it offered value for money, so I rated it two stars. We came to enjoy something out of the ordinary, but everyday life would have been much better.

    Stay with Your Dog!

    A very spacious residence, almost too much for 4 people and a dog. There is a fireplace, and since it was the first time for the children to light a fire with logs, it was an elegant and memorable experience. The bathroom was also large and comfortable.

    We stayed here again...

    We stayed here again this year following last year. This time, we stayed in a single-story building. Since we have small children, the barrier-free single-story building was safe and secure. The room was full of cleanliness. The kitchen area was also fully equipped and very easy to use. We are grateful for being allowed to check in early again this time. We will use it again next year. I'm already looking forward to which type of room we will stay in next time. Thank you very much.
