    It was spacious, clean, and well-maintained.

    It was spacious, spotless, and had no odor at all. I’ve stayed at a vacation rental in Karuizawa before, and this place was also excellent—fully equipped for cooking, and the Room was very comfortable. As the Review said, the location is indeed a bit hard to find, and it took some time to reach the end of the narrow road. The large public bath didn’t feel much like an Onsen, but it was quiet and very relaxing. For guests with dogs, there is a separate entrance/exit to the area that must be opened and locked with a key. Since our Room was below the stairs, moving luggage in and out was a bit difficult. Also, there weren’t any nearby places to buy groceries, which was a downside. Overall, it was very clean and we really enjoyed feeling like we were on a resort getaway with our dog. Next time, since there are many sightseeing spots around, we’d love to do a Multiple Night Stay at a more relaxed pace.

    One staff member at the front desk provided extremely poor service.

    The in-room facilities were excellent. The front desk staff who assisted us initially was great, but the explanation provided by the person who came out from the back was shockingly poor. Everything else was wonderful.

    Stay with Your Dog

    This was my first stay with my dog. The low service rating is simply because I didn’t interact much with the hotel staff, not due to poor service. There was a dog run, but unfortunately, it was full of droppings... It seems many guests don’t clean up after their pets, which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to it. Also, there were loud footsteps from the floor above—children running around late at night? Other than that, everything else was good. However, the refrigerator didn’t cool well enough; that was a bit disappointing too.

    I would like to use it again.

    This time, we stayed for two nights with three adults and one dog. The place was very clean, and there was hardly any noticeable smell. We could see Omuroyama from the window, and we were able to relax very much. As expected from a condominium, the dishes and cooking utensils were well-equipped and clean enough to use with confidence. The refrigerator was not small at all, and it was large enough to fit everything we bought. The bathroom had a washing machine and dryer (with laundry detergent provided), so clothes that got wet in the rain could be dried quickly, which was very convenient. In the large public bath, there were baby baths and chairs for nursing care, which showed great consideration. A bit disappointing was that although there was a vending machine in the large public bath, the selection was limited, and it took more than 10 minutes by car to the nearest convenience store, so it would have been nice if there were more options. Also, perhaps the car navigation system was not up-to-date, as it stopped guiding us with "You are around your destination" in a place where the building was clearly not visible. We had to rely on the smartphone navigation system, going around the area with many narrow paths, and got lost every time we went out and returned to the property. However, overall, it was a very good location for visiting various facilities, and it was really comfortable even with a dog. I would like to use it again when going to Izu.
