    We stayed for a rela...

    We stayed for a relatively long visit of 4 nights and 5 days with our family and two Chihuahuas. The Room was clean and comfortable. Since we were staying for an extended period, we cooked quite often. The kitchen appliances were well equipped, which was great, but it was disappointing that there weren’t many dishes and utensils. It was also very convenient that Tsuruya was about a 15-minute walk away. If I had to be picky, I think having rental bicycles at Hafumo would make it even easier to get around. We would love to stay here again when we visit Karuizawa.

    I stayed for two nights.

    We stayed for two nights in July. We travel with our dog and have used various private rental cottages in Karuizawa, and this one stood out for its great location and Room! The Room was very clean. The layout was simple and practical (if it’s too large, it’s harder to let a dog roam freely). Well-equipped kitchenware and a washing machine. Close to Tsuruya (supermarket). A dog run is also nearby. We rented e-bikes at Karuizawa Station to get there, and the route was mostly flat. Tsuruya is also easy to reach by bike, making this a recommended place for longer stays as well.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I recently stayed at Hafumo Karuizawa. The interior was very clean, and I had a very comfortable time with my friends. I thought it would be nice to have a dishcloth for wiping down the table and kitchen. Two rolls of paper towels felt just right. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Dogs are welcome too.

    It was very clean and comfortable! We were happy to stay with our dog and child. It was great that all the dog amenities were provided (we brought our own, so we didn’t use them). Also, we couldn’t use the washing machine unless we opened the main water valve (sorry if this was written somewhere). It would be helpful to have a note near the washing machine. We would have liked a towel for wiping down the kitchen, so disposable cleaning cloths would be convenient. We’d love to stay again!

    We stayed for two ni...

    We stayed for two nights during Golden Week with our dog. The Room had no typical pet odor, and we were able to relax comfortably. We shopped at a nearby supermarket and enjoyed meals together with our dog. The kitchen Facility was well equipped. One disappointment was that the laundry detergent was empty. It would also have been helpful to have one more set of hand towels. It’s within walking distance of Naka-Karuizawa Station, and we’d love to stay again if we have the chance!

    For guests staying with dogs, please note that an additional fee of 4,400 yen per dog will be charged separately from the IKYU.com rate. This information is not mentioned on IKYU.com, but payment notification was sent a week prior to the stay when cancellation fees applied, so we had no choice but to proceed with the accommodation. The villa itself is of average quality in terms of construction. For winter stays, the underfloor heating is appreciated. The only item that felt luxurious was the Balmuda toaster. Other furniture and amenities such as beds are at a standard level similar to general lodges or guesthouses. This accommodation seems more suitable for groups like students enjoying a lively stay rather than those seeking a luxurious experience. Two sides of the property are adjacent to other buildings, and TV sounds could be heard outside, so it may not be ideal for those prioritizing privacy.

    Enjoy a Karuizawa Villa Stay

    We enjoyed the feeling of staying in a villa in Karuizawa. The nearly new room and authentic villa-style building were especially appreciated by our family and our beloved dog. The surrounding restaurants are excellent, and the sound of the Shinkansen was not bothersome at all. This is a highly recommended accommodation.

    Stay 1 night with your pet during Golden Week

    The accommodation was very clean, and the facilities and amenities were well-prepared. Even though I tend to be a bit of a cleanliness enthusiast, I was able to relax without any concerns. The towels, bedding, and tableware were so clean that they seemed brand new. Even small details like the toilet paper had a soft texture instead of being cheap—such a nice touch! The location was quiet, with supermarkets, an onsen, Harunire Terrace, and more just a short drive away. It was our pet's first trip, so we were slightly worried at first but found them relaxed as well. This is definitely an accommodation we’d love to use again if we have the chance. It’s very pet-friendly! There were also materials introducing nearby shops available in the facility. It would be great if there could be recommendations for pet-friendly places too. Thank you for everything!

    It was excellent!

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days as a family of three plus a small dog. We took a taxi from Karuizawa Station to the accommodation. The room was very clean, and it was convenient to have almost all necessary dishes and cooking utensils available. The air conditioning was also comfortable. Although the accommodation is located next to the railway, we were not bothered by the sound of the Shinkansen at all during our stay. On the table, there was a file containing maps with nearby restaurants offering takeout options and recommendations from the owner, which were much easier to use than searching online. There was also an interesting column about Asama Mountain's spring water that we enjoyed reading and learning from. While we initially planned to rent bicycles during our stay, we ended up walking with our dog instead and found it easy to reach Tsuruya Supermarket on foot. The next day, we walked along another route to Nakakaruizawa Station and even made it all the way to Harunire Terrace thanks to the clear map provided! Unlike staying at hotels where meal times are fixed, here we could enjoy our time at our own pace in a spacious room that felt very comfortable. We were impressed by how well-prepared everything was—paper towels, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, quick wipes—all these thoughtful details made our stay even more pleasant. If I may make some suggestions: having detergent and sponges for lightly cleaning bathtubs or rubber bands/clips for temporarily sealing opened food would be helpful additions. It would also be great if bicycles could be rented upon request in advance like how firewood stove options are offered. This was my first experience staying at an entire rental accommodation like this one—it turned out wonderfully! I hope I can visit again someday if given another opportunity. Thank you so much!

    It was a wonderful facility!

    We stayed here for a ski trip. The Karuizawa Prince Hotel ski resort is just a few minutes away by car, making it very accessible. The Facility is new, clean, and spacious, allowing our family to relax comfortably! There’s also a large supermarket nearby, and within walking distance, you can find lovely sweets shops and restaurants to enjoy local cuisine while taking a stroll! We prepared meals in the well-equipped kitchen available until 10 PM and enjoyed dinner in the warm dining room. Afterward, we relaxed with local wine and cake. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Karuizawa. Thank you so much!

    We stayed for 3 days...

    We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights with our dog. The Room, bath, toilet, and kitchen were very clean and we were able to relax. It was snowing at night, but the Room was warm enough to stay in short sleeves. (Using air conditioning and floor heating) We would definitely like to use it again!
