    Highly recommended.

The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, and we were very satisfied. My friends who came with me also said they would love to bring their families next time. We will definitely be back, and we look forward to seeing you again!

It was a fun family trip.

We stayed for two nights as a family of three, including our college-aged daughter. The house is a standalone home in a mountain village, and the traditional farmhouse has been beautifully renovated. There are two toilets, the Rooms are spacious, and the bath is a hinoki cypress tub—so large it felt like a waste to use it alone. For dinner, we had fun cutting vegetables together in the earthen-floor kitchen and cooking them on a hot plate, and everything was delicious. Plenty of meat and vegetables were provided. Breakfast was served at a nearby cafe, with different menus on both days, and it was excellent. From the coffee beans to the tea snacks, everything was truly thoughtful—we were all happy we chose to stay here. We would definitely like to stay again if we have the chance.

A relaxing family getaway surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside

In a small town surrounded by nature, we were wrapped in a quiet, peaceful atmosphere that made us forget everyday life—it felt like we had wandered into another world. The spacious Room and large bath were truly relaxing. We all enjoyed barbecue with local vegetables and meat. We were especially touched by the kindness of the two women who manage the Accommodation. Breakfast every morning was delicious. They spoke kindly to our child as well, and it felt just like visiting relatives. It isn’t our hometown, but we found a special place that feels like a third hometown for our family. We will definitely come back again.

Two wonderful female hosts you’ll want to meet again.

The vegetables were incredibly delicious, and although I initially thought the meat might not be enough, it was more than sufficient. Breakfast was also wonderful—we enjoyed each dish while listening to the thoughtful explanations. Since there is no TV, we were able to talk as a family during meals and after bathing, and truly had a lovely time. The Room also had small touches such as flowers from the garden, and we could feel many considerate details that only a woman would notice. We would love to stay again next year with our daughter and her husband.

    The meals are excellent.

We booked dinner and breakfast for both nights, and both the heka sukiyaki on the first day and the teppanyaki on the second day were excellent—the vegetables and Iwami pork were especially delicious. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen. Breakfast was also tasty, with just the right amount. We bought some vegetables to take home from a local roadside station. We stayed at Yasuda Residence Accommodation, and the bathroom was very spacious, so we could relax in the tub together with our children. While preserving the charm of this traditional house, it has been tastefully renovated—especially around the water facilities—and kept very clean, making it extremely comfortable. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Instagrammable!!

The amenities were plentiful, and we were able to relax with tea and coffee and enjoy a truly restful time. The large hinoki cypress bath was spacious enough to stretch out in, and it warmed us up nicely. At night, the starry sky filled the entire view—we enjoyed scenery you can’t experience in the city. Thank you for such a special stay.

    A beautiful and wonderful accommodation

This was my first stay in a traditional Japanese house, and I’m truly glad I chose the Yasuda Residence. The beautifully renovated house features an impressive earthen-floor entrance area, and the hinoki bath was spacious enough for about five adults. There are two toilets and two washbasins. Since it’s an old house it can get cold, but each Room is well equipped with heating. The night sky is beautiful, the surroundings are quiet, the interior is clean and comfortable, and you can feel the attention to detail in every amenity. For dinner, if you request it they will prepare the ingredients for you to cook yourself. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby at all, so I recommend self-catering. You can cook at your preferred time and enjoy a relaxed meal, and the local vegetables and ingredients were exceptionally delicious. Breakfast is prepared at the reception café—also delicious—and the café itself is charming and lovely. The staff were kind as well. I definitely want to come again. We came from Izumo Airport; there was no traffic, so we took our time on the way and stopped by roadside stations along the route.

A Fusion of Traditional Japanese Architecture and Modern Design

Because we arrived in the early evening, as we rounded the curve on the road in front, we spotted the warm glow of the entrance light behind the noren curtain. The excitement starts right there! The open grounds have nothing on them except the Accommodation itself, and because there’s a difference in elevation from neighboring properties, it feels wonderfully private—you don’t have to worry about anyone’s eyes at all. As soon as you step inside from the entrance, a subtle fragrance welcomes you. The staff later told us they use an original blend of aroma oils. It captivates you not only visually, but through scent as well. In the spacious earthen-floored entry area, modern wooden furniture is arranged beautifully, and while the kitchen area is simple, the design is incredibly stylish. Lighting fixtures can sometimes stand out too much in traditional houses turned into Accommodations, but here they blend in naturally—never too bright—and create such a lovely atmosphere. You can tell great care went into the lighting design. Each of the two bedrooms has a low bed—rustic and simple yet clearly well designed. And they were unbelievably comfortable! The bath is a hinoki cypress tub! It isn’t an Onsen, so you fill it yourself, but it’s large enough for two adults to soak comfortably. It’s very quiet outside, so you can take your time in the bath and truly enjoy the stillness. For dinner we chose “Heka,” a local traditional dish that you cook yourself. All ingredients are provided—just cut them up and simmer everything in an iron pot! Follow the recipe and it’s easy and absolutely delicious. The local vegetables make it even better. This time four of us stayed together as friends, and cooking while chatting and enjoying drinks was such a great experience. Also, when I asked about cleanup, staff told us we could just leave our dishes in the sink without washing them—which was a huge help. As night deepened, we went out onto the deck and slowly enjoyed local sake around one of their lanterns. It felt truly luxurious. Inside this Accommodation there are so many places to settle in—wherever you sit offers a different view, making each spot its own experience. Breakfast the next morning was at the front building about a one-minute walk away. The menu featured local ingredients (the rice was especially good), but above all—the vegetables were amazing! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming; they also shared information about walking routes and nearby sightseeing spots. It’s genuinely an Accommodation that makes you want to come back again.

I’d love to stay here again.

We enjoyed a luxurious, peaceful stay with nothing around to distract us, and the café where we could chat with locals was wonderful. It was great to shop at a nearby supermarket and savor local sake and Iwami beef.
