It was a very satisfying Hotel.
Getting there was challenging because we had to transfer between the Shinkansen and Kintetsu lines, but it was a Hotel well worth the trip. The menu featured local vegetables, eggs, fish, and meat, and we enjoyed a feast you can only experience here. The sauna was also great. We could truly feel the sincere hospitality of everyone working there, which warmed our hearts. It’s a Hotel we would love to visit again.

It was a wonderful day in the mountain village.
My wife and I stayed here together. The food was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the unique flavors made with locally sourced vegetables, wild mountain plants, free-range chicken, and eggs from Yamazoe Village, as well as products from local tofu and soy sauce makers—something you can only experience here. Many rural mountain communities are facing depopulation, but this stay reminded us that there are so many wonderful things found only in places like this. We arrived a bit late and were disappointed to miss the sauna we had been looking forward to. We would love to visit again.

UME is the best!
This was my first stay at the accommodation after visiting several times for day-use sauna! The staff's attentiveness was very impressive, and the meals, creatively prepared with local ingredients, were delicious. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!

It was the perfect accommodation to relax and feel at home.
A blend of over 100 years of traditional charm and modern interior design. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, with classic windows and sliding doors perfectly complementing the atmosphere in a stylish way. The Finnish-style sauna was incredibly refreshing, leaving me completely rejuvenated. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious, and it was clear how much importance is placed on connections with the local community. Each guest is treated with great care, and the welcoming atmosphere that allowed us to freely visit the main house outside meal times was truly wonderful. I’m curious about other Rooms as well, so I’d love to visit again during a different season next time! Thank you for an amazing two days!

I had a relaxing time.
I have been a repeat guest because I truly enjoy staying here. This time, I visited with my sister and her husband, bringing a larger group. As always, it was a wonderfully relaxing experience. The service felt heartfelt and personal, not just following standard procedures. My sister and her husband were also very impressed—they loved the delicious meals, beautiful scenery, and the amazing sauna. It’s an experience that feels unique to Ume. I’ve heard that the kids' meal plates are also very delicious, so I look forward to visiting again with my family when my niece is a little older!

An Accommodation You'll Want to Return To
A warm and sophisticated yet serene accommodation that brings peace of mind. From the large windows in the room, you can watch clouds drift across the sky and hear distant warblers, allowing you to reconnect with your senses often forgotten in daily life. The meals were served with introductions to local villagers, making it a heartfelt experience to understand and appreciate what we were eating. We didn't know much about the sauna beforehand, but experiencing a wood-burning stove sauna for the first time was gently warming. We even tried the cold-water bath, which felt incredibly refreshing! This visit coincided with plum blossoms in bloom, but next time we hope to visit during autumn.

I am still captivated by the lingering charm of such a wonderful accommodation.
Everything was absolutely wonderful!! The building, room, meals, sauna, and hospitality—everything was flawless. I could feel the thoughtfulness of the accommodation in every detail and was moved each time. However, it never felt forced; it simply existed naturally. The balance of not being overly stylish or too perfect made it very comfortable to stay. The meals were so locally sourced that I truly felt the greatness of Yamazoe Village. Sharing a U-shaped table with other guests while dining was also lovely. Although we didn’t converse much, there was a nice sense of enjoying delicious food together. I wasn’t particularly interested in saunas before, but the gentle warmth of the Finnish sauna, löyly sessions, and rooftop open-air relaxation were all so well-thought-out that I ended up loving it. Even though it rained during my sauna experience, that added to its charm. Luckily, someone who plays handpan came by the next day, so I went back for another session in the morning. The sound of the handpan resonating inside the sauna emptied my mind—it was incredible. This accommodation feels like an embodiment of how its owner and staff think and live their lives. It didn’t feel like just staying somewhere; rather, it felt like experiencing something meaningful they’ve created. It’s not flashy but has only what’s necessary—and everything seems to have purpose—making for a truly special space. While many modern accommodations are perfectly designed and sophisticated these days, this one feels different. Through everything here, I could feel human warmth. Thank you for such a wonderful time! I will definitely visit again!

So close, yet feels like another world!
Up to 3 groups per day, surrounded by rich nature, featuring a private wood-fired sauna and meals made with local ingredients you can only enjoy here. Connect with other guests around the counter. Relax in our renovated rooms designed for unwinding. This is one of my top three favorite detox accommodations. The owner and staff maintain a perfect balance of friendliness and space. I’ve visited this favorite accommodation multiple times with family and friends. Conveniently located just over an hour’s drive from Osaka or about 15 minutes by shuttle service from Kintetsu Nabari Station. Give it a try!

Relax in nature
We stayed here for a couple's trip after a long time. The dishes made with plenty of ingredients from Yamazoe Village were excellent. I used the sauna for the first time in about 10 years, and the gentle heat made it very comfortable to enjoy.

The best sauna experience ever.
The sauna lit only by firewood offered an unparalleled sense of tranquility. The warmth was perfect, providing a cozy comfort that could even lull you to sleep. Unlike electric stove saunas, the heat felt gentle on the skin, making it suitable even for those who usually avoid saunas. After the sauna session, warm tea was thoughtfully prepared, which was a delightful touch. While water was also available, sipping warm tea after a sauna in colder seasons felt truly exceptional. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Meals featured fresh vegetables and eggs sourced from the local village, all of which were deliciously prepared. Although I traveled alone, dinner turned into an enjoyable experience as I had the chance to chat with locals who shared recommendations for nearby attractions. I would love to visit again!

An accommodation I definitely want to visit again.
Surrounded by nature, it was a space where both mind and body could be cleared. I really enjoyed the sauna. The saunas I’ve used before were too hot and not my favorite, but the sauna at ume, gently warms you from the core, making it easy to stay in for a long time. The sound of firewood and the aroma of Japanese black tea added to the löyly were also very pleasant. The meals were delicious, and all the other guests staying at ume, were wonderful people, making it enjoyable to share a table with them. The staff members were all friendly as well. Next time, I’d love to visit with my family and children. Thank you very much!

Relaxing Time Surrounded by Nature
