    It was an excellent Facility.

    We stayed as a family of five. It felt just like being at home, spending time together with our college-aged children who usually live away from us. After dinner, we enjoyed watching a movie in the theater room. Having a washer-dryer was also very helpful—we could do laundry for our eldest son after sports practice. We would love to stay again during the Obon holidays next year.

    A Villa in Karuizawa

    This was my first time staying in a villa on a trip to Karuizawa! It’s an Accommodation I’d recommend if you want a truly out-of-the-ordinary getaway. We stayed in a private rental villa, and the moment we stepped into the Room, we were excited by the stylish space filled with the warmth of wood. There was an outdoor living area and a fireplace. Lighting the fireplace cost extra (1,100 yen), but it added such a chic touch. There was also a theater room and even a hammock, so there’s plenty to enjoy indoors as well. The Facilities were well equipped, with a kitchen and BBQ area—perfect for anyone who wants to relax and spend quality time with friends or family. The surroundings were quiet and immersed in nature, making both the morning air and nighttime atmosphere absolutely wonderful. The staff were courteous, and we felt comfortable from check-in onward. Everything was clean, and it felt like even the smallest details were well maintained. We chose this place because many Reviews mentioned how comfortable and clean the Facilities are—and that they wanted to return—so we’re glad we did. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a luxurious stay in Karuizawa that’s different from an ordinary Hotel.

    I can’t wait to stay here again!

    This lodge was even nicer than we expected—we were very satisfied! We enjoyed a barbecue, and in the outdoor living area we gathered around the fireplace and spent quality time together as a family. We had heard that Karuizawa can be cold even in April, but the indoor heating provided a natural warmth and made it very comfortable.

    Plan with Chef-Recommended French Dinner

    We stayed with our family and pet. Having the entire villa to ourselves and being able to bring our pet (a small dog) was truly appreciated. The Facility were well equipped, and it was our first time experiencing an outdoor living area and a whole-building in-wall heating and cooling system—both were excellent. Our pet was able to relax as well. The restaurant meals were delicious, and we were very satisfied. We had a wonderful time and would love to visit again someday.

    My family was very satisfied with the comfort, which exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable enough for a Multiple Night Stay. We would definitely like to stay here again.

    It was wonderful.

    I have made several Accommodation Reservations through IKYU. This was by far the most spacious Accommodation I’ve stayed in. There were four beds—two in each of the two Rooms. There are private homes around the Accommodation, but it was extremely quiet at night, and I could truly forget the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a Seven-Eleven very close by. (It may not be open 24 hours; I’m not sure about local opening hours in Karuizawa.) We had breakfast at the owner’s restaurant on-site (JPY 2,000 per person). It was delicious.

    The dinner was delicious.

    We visited with our family of three and our dog. The Room was the same as last time—stylish and well designed, with a spacious kitchen, a theater room, and even a hammock. For dinner, we enjoyed meats we don’t usually get to try, such as bear, duck, and venison, along with spring vegetables. Every dish was carefully crafted and beautifully presented. Now that I’m over 50, French or Italian course meals often feel too heavy for me, so I usually avoid eating at night. However, this course wasn’t oily; it made the most of the sauces and the natural flavors of the ingredients, so everything was truly delicious. I especially want to have the risotto again. Thank you for a wonderful and delicious time.

    The outdoor living space features a high-quality wood-burning stove.

    I indulged in the complimentary ice cream... Normally, it's one per person, but I couldn't resist. After playing with the wood stove fire, enjoying a barbecue, and taking a bath, finding so many ice cream options in the freezer felt like a luxury. I don't usually eat much ice cream, so when it was introduced to me initially, I thought "Oh, thanks (not too excited)." But combining the vacation rental experience with barbecue and wood stove fun made it all incredibly enjoyable. The owner is amazing—thank you! The outdoor living space was convenient for unloading food and supplies directly from the car. It was also nice that some firewood was provided as part of the service. One request: could you include smaller kindling pieces (like chopstick-sized) for easier fire-starting? The stove had an interesting feature that seemed capable of baking pizza (though we didn’t try). There’s even a trash bin provided—great attention to detail! The industrial design is excellent. We didn’t use much of the kitchen but appreciated how well-equipped it was. The underfloor heating made things cozy; however, we found ourselves waking up at night because it got too warm! Once turned off during the night though, it stayed comfortably warm until morning. The hammock was fun too—there’s only one though; having two would be great since we ended up competing over who got to use it! As for beds—they felt slightly firm compared to my usual futon at home—but that's just personal preference and not an issue specific to this accommodation. Overall: A place I'd love to visit again! There's also a restaurant called "Morimori-tei" within walking distance that I'd like to try next time. Thank you again—I’ll definitely be back!

    Stay with Your Dog

    We chose this accommodation as it was pet-friendly. Although the bedroom and tatami space were off-limits for our dog, the spacious living room and private garden with a fence made it comfortable for both our pet and us. The kitchen was equipped with a dishwasher, plates, cutlery, pots, plastic wrap, aluminum foil—everything we needed. Seasonings like salt, pepper, soy sauce, and olive oil were also provided. As a special touch, complimentary ice cream in the fridge and a full bottle of sparkling wine were included. Amenities such as drip coffee packs, tea bags, bath towels, hand towels, toothbrushes, skincare products like lotion and face masks were prepared for each guest according to the number of nights stayed. The accommodation was spacious enough for six people (and could potentially fit up to eight), but since there is only one bathroom and toilet available on-site, six guests seem to be the ideal limit. During this stay in winter's cold weather conditions we didn’t use the outdoor BBQ area; however next time during warmer seasons we look forward trying charcoal-grilled barbecue experience! The only inconvenience compared to concierge-equipped hotels is carrying luggage yourself into your room so bringing wheeled suitcases would definitely help!

    The food was absolut...

    The food was absolutely delicious! The Room was also very lovely! It would be perfect if check-in could be earlier, allowing more time to relax in the Room!

    Pets allowed.

    Pets are allowed, which is why we chose this place, but unfortunately, pets were restricted to the living room only, so we couldn't use the theater room. Additionally, there was an unpleasant smell in the barbecue room... As a result, we couldn't enjoy a barbecue either, which was disappointing.

    Great Accommodation Found!

    I stayed at Green Seed Karuizawa. The accommodation itself was excellent, and I felt comfortable no matter where I was during my stay. The cleanliness was impeccable, with attention to detail evident throughout. The staff were very friendly and provided warm and courteous service, which added to the pleasant experience. The location is also highly convenient, offering easy access while allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding nature. We created wonderful family memories by enjoying fireworks in the garden, stargazing, and grilling delicious meat. It’s a truly recommended accommodation where you can stay with peace of mind and comfort.

    I would love to stay here again!

    We visited with our children and dog. It was an amazing experience. Upon arriving at the parking lot, a cheerful staff member guided us to our room. The staff were very kind, and we immediately felt it was a great facility. The garden had a private dog run, which made our dog extremely happy. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Despite the unfortunate rain, we stayed in a building with an outdoor BBQ space that had a sturdy roof, allowing us to fully enjoy a charcoal BBQ experience (though we didn’t use it, there was also an indoor BBQ space equipped with an electric grill). The bath in the facility was standard, so we drove 10 minutes to Miharashi no Yu (we heard there were traffic jams near Tombo no Yu). While unrelated to the facility itself, it was an excellent Onsen. At night, we enjoyed fireworks and watermelon splitting with the kids. During the day it was quite hot but as expected of Karuizawa, mornings and evenings were cool and refreshing—perfect for recharging both body and mind. Check-out was smooth as you could simply leave your key in the room without waiting around. A private BBQ and fireworks time spent leisurely with family is priceless! This is truly a wonderful facility where I’d love to return again with my family and dog next time! I’m also looking forward to trying out meals at their newly opened restaurant on my next visit!

    This is my second visit.

    Escape the busy daily life and head to Karuizawa in no time. Welcome to Green Seed! From the moment you open the Room, you'll be amazed by its cleanliness and full amenities! The atmosphere feels as if the air itself is saying "Welcome back," even though no one is there. The Room perfectly complements Karuizawa's slow-paced lifestyle, leaving you completely satisfied! The French cuisine at the restaurant clearly reflects the chef's dedication and hospitality. It was absolutely delicious!

    Both body and mind felt at ease.

    We stayed for 3 nights as a couple, seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property was clean and fully equipped with household essentials, even including a dishwasher. Interaction with staff is primarily limited to check-in. We enjoyed unique experiences such as barbecuing with local ingredients over charcoal and using the wood-burning fireplace. Initially, we had trouble with the fireplace, but after contacting the staff, they promptly came over and kindly explained how to use it. It was a peaceful stay that allowed us to relax both physically and mentally in tranquility. Thank you very much!

    Excellent hospitality

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. I splurged a little this time, but I really think it was worth choosing this Property. On the first day, it was pouring rain, but I was greeted with an umbrella at the parking lot upon arrival, and I felt a lot of thoughtfulness. There was a hot pot set in the Room, so I went to the supermarket to buy ingredients and made a hot pot. It was my first time eating hot pot in such a wonderful environment, and the rice cooker was high-functioning, so the rice was incredibly delicious, and I was very satisfied. The Room was extremely clean, with not a speck of dust. The appliances were also of good quality, which made me happy. This time, I stayed with my dog, and all the amenities were provided, which was very helpful. The dog was overjoyed and ran around the living room. It took about 15 minutes by car to get to the town, so it wasn't particularly close, but it wasn't an inconvenient distance either. Rather, the cottage was so perfect that I didn't want to go outside. There is a 7-Eleven within walking distance, which is convenient. I have no complaints and can only say it was the best, and I definitely want to stay again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

    I would like to use it again!

    Thank you very much for this time. We visit Karuizawa every year with our dog. This time, we used Green Seed for the first time as they allow dogs. It was very comfortable. They prepared a cage in the middle of the living room, which was reassuring as it was visible from everywhere. We also had a small child with us, so it was very helpful that everything around the kitchen was fully equipped. We were able to prepare meals and spend time like at home, so it was very comfortable! The Room was very clean and tidy. We didn't use the dog run or garden as it rained a lot during our stay (the indoor BBQ also seemed nice), but it was lovely. The staff who guided us and the staff who came to exchange towels were all very responsive and we were pleased. We would like to use it again. * It is a bit far from Karuizawa Station, but there is a convenience store nearby, and Asanoya (a bakery) was also relatively close. * The photos of the Room on the website seemed to have a dark feel, but in reality, it was not like that and it was a lovely Room!
