A must-see for train enthusiasts
Enjoy unlimited views of Nankai Electric Railway trains from a guest room built inside the station building. That said, trains are less frequent than in the city, so it’s quiet. There’s nothing around the station, and it’s also separated from the other guest room, ensuring peace and silence. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Please bring your own food and drinks.

I stayed in the Twin...
I stayed in the Twin Takano Room. [Facility & Equipment] From the spacious Room, you can clearly see trains passing by. A large refrigerator, microwave, cutlery, cups, and plates are provided. There is no TV, but there were a few used books. All the travel guidebooks are for international visitors. [Amenities] There were no pajamas provided. I thought it would be nice to have a one-piece style pajama set. Earplugs were included in the amenity items. [Meals & Surroundings] Since there are only vending machines nearby, you need to bring your own food. A river flows nearby, and I found the sound of water and birdsong very relaxing. [Noise & Temperature] Because the windows are old-style, sound carries easily. Late at night I noticed some train noise, but personally I was fine without earplugs. While ventilation is good, on rainy days in early June it got chilly in the mornings and evenings, so I used the heating. [Cleanliness] The Room was kept clean. One thing that concerned me was a swallow’s nest above the entrance door, and there were droppings around the door area. I would appreciate it if this could be cleaned each time. It was a unique Hotel where you can stay in a renovated station building, and I really enjoyed it. When I visit Mount Koya again, I’d like to stay here again.

An extraordinary escape from the everyday!
I was traveling solo and wanted to stay at Tenku, but I couldn’t get a Reservation, so I stayed at the more expensive Koya instead. I guess not everything going as planned can be part of the experience. I knew in advance that it would be difficult to buy food nearby, so I went to the Lawson closest to Kudoyama Station, but honestly it was tough. If you’re coming by train from the Namba area, it’s better to buy food in Osaka or around Hashimoto before you go. The room’s water facilities have been renovated and are clean, but the old-style station building atmosphere has been preserved—railway fans will love it. As other guests mentioned, the faucet at the sink is a bit stiff (it’s not broken), so if you turn it too hard, the water may come out forcefully—please be careful. Also, I struggled a little with how to fill the bath with hot water (lol). At night after the last train, given where it is, it can feel a bit scary when you’re alone—but I think that’s part of this Hotel’s charm. All in all, I enjoyed it more than expected. If I get another chance, next time I’d like to stay at Tenku. Thank you very much.

I had some business ...
I had some business in Wakayama and made a reservation here as I was curious about it. I traveled separately from my family by train, and I found it very interesting that the room was right there as soon as I exited the ticket gate. Since there were no shops around, I bought food in Namba, but I was pleased to find that a microwave, refrigerator, and dishes were well-prepared. On the day, I was able to handle changes via email, such as when my grandchild wanted to stay with me. For breakfast, I went to the onigiri stand in Kudoyama, but I accidentally took the train in the opposite direction and ended up waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes at the next station. It was cold, but I felt relieved when I finally reached the onigiri, and it was very delicious. The hotel has all the necessary essentials, but it would have been even better if there were pajamas. I had a fun experience.

Stay at Koyashita Station Building
It was so much fun! That was my first impression. We parked the car, crossed a river with clear water flowing quietly, climbed the stairs to the station building. The station building is located within the currently used train station, and the old station building has been renovated into a property. During our stay, the sound of the train felt very soft, and I imagined how many people's lives and happenings this station building, over 100 years old, had witnessed, which made me a bit sentimental. However, in contrast to the old station building, the bed was very comfortable, and the modern bathroom provided an abundance of hot water. When I told the woman who brought the bath mat that "Tomorrow is Monday, and unfortunately, the Kudoyama Omusubi shop is closed," she immediately made a phone call, arranged for the omusubi, and explained how to take the train. Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy the delicious handmade omusubi I had been longing for. I am sincerely grateful for her efficiency and kindness. Thank you very much.
