    It was clean and great!!

    I had some trouble checking in. When I called right in front of the Accommodation, I was told that it had been reserved by someone else, which made me panic, but in the end my Reservation was confirmed and I was able to stay! The Room was very clean! The air conditioning was adjustable and comfortable. The refrigerator had two shelves and also included a freezer. Two complimentary bottles of water were provided. It was a bit disappointing that towels were only provided for one night even though we stayed two nights. The seat on the bath chair was worn down and painful to sit on, so I think it should be replaced with a new one. It’s an Accommodation in a very convenient location close to the station!!

    A small and charming private rental home

    During cherry blossom season, when every Hotel is expensive, we found this reasonably priced entire-home Vacation Rental on IKYU. It’s a small, charming Accommodation in a beautifully renovated traditional townhouse, conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk south of Kyoto Station. Check-in is unmanned and easy—just enter the code sent by SMS to unlock the door. The space isn’t large, but everything you need is provided, and the two beds were comfortable. We didn’t use it, but there’s also a small kitchen with a refrigerator and cooking utensils. There’s a garden as well, and the fresh green leaves visible from the bath were lovely. We enjoyed a private stay that you can’t experience at a Hotel. Thank you very much.

    Poorly maintained

    I stayed for sightseeing purposes. The room was small, and there was no space to open a suitcase. I had to open it on the kitchen floor, but it seemed difficult for large suitcases used for international travel. Although it was a standalone house, the front door's fitting was poor and rattled with slight wind pressure. The lock also made noises, which made me think someone might be entering, leaving me unable to sleep peacefully. Additionally, I was surprised by the scratched condition of the bath stool and basin in the bathroom. The scratches were so severe that they felt uncomfortable to touch or sit on. What shocked me most was that one of the windows in the kitchen/living area had been left open. Despite using heating, it didn’t warm up properly; only in the morning did I realize that a window had been left ajar behind closed blinds when I entered. Although there were bars outside for security reasons, this still felt concerning from a safety perspective. It was also inconvenient not having an outlet near the bedside table. Other minor issues included minimal amenities provided (e.g., only one toothbrush cup despite being booked for two people), no room wear available at this class of accommodation, etc. Overall, I felt that this accommodation did not match its accommodation fee value-wise compared to what is offered elsewhere within similar price ranges!
