    I was shocked.

    I don’t want to leave a Review like this, but I’m posting so others don’t have the same experience. I wouldn’t even give 1 star for anything. I made a Reservation for 2 nights: 1 Room (Presidential Suite, Japanese-Western style). When we arrived, I called with an inquiry and was told, “You’re connected to the Kyoto call center. A staff member will come to the front desk at 9:00 a.m., and they will assist you there. We’ll pass along your request.” Even though I was feeling unwell, I went to the front desk the next morning, but no staff were there. When I called the listed number again, I was told, “It’s unmanned so there are no staff. What you were told yesterday was incorrect. Your request wasn’t passed on either—we’ll confirm and call you back.” Nearly an hour passed with no call back, so I had to contact them again myself. There was absolutely no emergency response—this was extremely disappointing. The provided towels and bedding smelled moldy. I slept on the futon on the tatami mats and ended up with about 10 insect bites that seemed like mites—terrible. The marks are still there even after three days. Next to the washing machine, there was an almost empty detergent box left out. Perhaps because the walls are thin (the Room is on the 4th floor), we could hear people outside talking and train noise during the night. The curtains are not blackout curtains either, so if sunlight bothers you, please be aware. I stay in Hotels and residences several nights each month, but this is my first time experiencing service this poor and not worth the price. I hope this helps prevent others from feeling the same way.

    Not too bad.

    One drink per person is provided per night. Access from the station is decent. The building is old, but the Room interior is clean. A washing machine and hangers are available, which was helpful for doing laundry. The jacuzzi and ceiling shower were great. The futon on the tatami mat is thin. It would be better if it were more affordable.

    Insects came out from the tatami...

    We stayed in the family suite. It seems that the room in an old multi-tenant building has been renovated. The plumbing has been nicely renovated, but the Japanese-style room and bedroom couldn't completely hide their old parts. The problem was the tatami mats in the Japanese-style room. From the color, I suspect they haven't been replaced for a long time. Even if they are old, it's fine if they are clean, but a black bug came out from inside. It might have been a bug that happened to be inside the tatami after coming in from outside... Several people, including children, were planning to sleep in the Japanese-style room. However, to prevent any possible infection, we decided to stay elsewhere... Disposable amenities were well-prepared.
