    A luxurious stay in a one-of-a-kind kura space where even large groups can truly relax.

    We stayed here with a large group in January. First of all, the traditional kura-style building is truly one of a kind. It has been beautifully renovated to suit modern needs while preserving the charm of classic Japanese architecture. It’s even more impressive in person than in photos, and you can really enjoy the building itself—perfect for anyone who loves architecture. The living room feels incredibly open, and even with a big group it never felt cramped. The kitchen was surprisingly spacious, and it was stocked with more than enough cookware and appliances. There was also a great variety of tableware, all stylish, which made cooking even more enjoyable. The dishwasher in particular was large and high-performance, making cleanup easy even for a big group. There are multiple bedrooms as well, so everyone can rest comfortably. This Accommodation is ideal for the purpose of “staying together as a large group and relaxing.” Overall it’s very spacious, so we could spend time there without feeling self-conscious. We only ordered breakfast, but it was simple Japanese food and very delicious. For lunch and dinner we arranged our own meals—buying ingredients at nearby supermarkets (Tsuruya and AEON are conveniently close) and cooking ourselves—and that became part of the fun of the stay. With such well-equipped facilities, this place is especially recommended for those who enjoy cooking. Even though it was cold around New Year’s, the inside was warm and comfortable. The separate hinoki bathhouse was amazing; you heat the indoor bath yourself, but the scent of hinoki wood and the atmosphere were truly relaxing. There is also another bath in the main house (with a modern tub), which you can use as well—and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of underfloor heating in the changing area there. We were highly satisfied with everything—the space, facilities, and overall atmosphere—and would love to visit again in a different season.

    It was a wonderful stay that filled my heart with joy.

    Staying at Satoyama Villa DEN was a truly relaxing experience. Surrounded by the gentle warmth of the wood stove and floor heating, I found myself dozing off in front of the stove. It had been such a long time since I enjoyed such luxurious "do-nothing" moments, and it made me very happy. Being able to read quietly in a serene space felt like a rare treat that everyday life doesn't often allow. The atmosphere of the building was also remarkable, with its large beams, high ceilings, and the calm air of the earthen storehouse offering both warmth and tranquility. It provided a sense of security while also feeling open and inviting—a place where you naturally want to take deep breaths. The kitchen we used for self-catering was very clean and well-equipped, making it easy to prepare simple meals. As we worked with soft music playing in the background, evening gradually fell, and the warm indoor lighting enhanced the ambiance even more. It was such an inviting space that conversations flowed naturally. The amenities were thoughtfully arranged with attention to detail, providing everything we needed for our stay. The concierge's communication before our arrival was smooth and considerate, which heightened our anticipation for this trip. That feeling continued throughout our stay as we kept thinking how glad we were to have chosen this accommodation. I heard there are other accommodations within this group with unique characteristics as well—this experience left such an impression on me that I'd love to try staying at another facility next time based on my purpose. This is an accommodation filled with Satoyama's tranquility and warmth—a place you'll want to return to again.

    Enjoyable for all generations

    Three families of various generations stayed here, and everyone enjoyed the accommodation in their own way! The children had fun harvesting crops from the field and running around the hills, while the adults relaxed in a cypress bath, practiced yoga in the silkworm house, or cooked with those fresh vegetables in the spacious kitchen with a beer in hand. The space was large enough to ensure privacy while also allowing everyone to gather comfortably in the living room without feeling cramped. It was a very pleasant stay! We’d love to visit again during a warmer season for a BBQ. Thank you so much!

    Everything was absolutely amazing and exceeded all expectations!

    The spacious room was equipped with floor heating and a wood stove, allowing us to stay warm and comfortable. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained, making our stay extremely pleasant. We had the luxury of enjoying freshly harvested vegetables from an organic farm, paired with delicious hot pot dishes and side dishes. The rice, also organic, was wonderfully sticky and flavorful. Amenities were plentiful, including a cypress bath. We regretted only staying for one night! We highly recommend a Multiple Night Stay to relax with close friends or family as if living in your own home. The staff provided flexible advice and attentive service, ensuring we felt at ease throughout our stay! Our companions were also very satisfied with the trip overall. This is definitely a place we would love to visit again!

    I used Satoyama villa DEN for a company training program. The sight of the traditional Nagaya gate and the silkworm house upon arrival was breathtaking, leaving me speechless. The historic and elegant architecture truly embodies the essence of Satoyama culture. Being in such a rare and serene space allowed us to focus our minds and fully immerse ourselves in learning. The seminar room, surrounded by the warmth of wood, provided a calm atmosphere for discussions and presentations. The scenic views of Satoyama added to the tranquility, sparking creativity naturally. The spacious dining area served as a perfect spot for meals and conversations, allowing us to relax and strengthen bonds with colleagues. The outdoor BBQ with views of the Alps created unforgettable memories that deepened our team spirit. This is not just an ordinary facility but offers a unique experience—staying in a historic building while conducting training amidst nature left a lasting impression on all participants. It’s an ideal place to learn about history, connect with nature, and foster team unity. Even after returning from the program, employees continue to express their desire to hold another retreat here. Satoyama villa DEN is more than just accommodation; it is truly one-of-a-kind as a center for learning experiences.

    Clean and spacious, a perfect accommodation for three generations.

    We stayed as a three-generation family (grandparents, my spouse and I with our 2-year-old son, and my brother's family with their daughter). This accommodation was perfect for a long-awaited family gathering, offering the comfort and flexibility of renting an entire house. Just a 10-minute drive from Matsumoto city center, the property is surrounded by nature in a peaceful environment where children can play freely without worrying about disturbing neighbors. The grandparents were delighted to spend such quality time with their grandchildren, saying it was the first time they could relax so much together. The spacious layout allowed each family member to gather or have personal space as needed, which was very convenient. The accommodation was clean and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities and guides that made our stay completely stress-free. We also enjoyed harvesting vegetables at the adjacent organic farm and having a BBQ while admiring the stunning view of the Northern Alps—a memorable experience for the kids! My husband mentioned wanting to return during winter to enjoy the wood-burning stove. This warm and welcoming accommodation offers just the right balance of connection and privacy for families living apart—a perfect choice for trips with children or multi-generational travel!

    A private rental embraced by a tranquil countryside. The interior is clean, and the Facility is well-equipped. Start your morning with a walk accompanied by birdsong, and end your day with the night view of Matsumoto Plain and a sky full of stars. The silkworm house behind the main building, surrounded by bamboo groves, offers an incredibly pleasant space. Additionally, the cypress bath inside the storehouse adds comfort and enriches your stay. It serves as an ideal base for exploring Matsumoto and Azumino. There’s charm here that cannot be fully conveyed through websites or listings—I will definitely return!

    Family-friendly and safe. Enjoy a summer getaway in a private house surrounded by rice fields.

    We stayed at Satoyama Villa DEN during our summer vacation as a family of three, including our 1.5-year-old child. This private rental traditional house is located in a quiet area surrounded by rice fields in Nakayama, Matsumoto City, allowing us to enjoy free and private family time without worrying about other guests. The accommodation was equipped with child-friendly items such as a high chair, step stool, baby bath, and children's tableware, which were incredibly helpful. Thanks to these thoughtful amenities, we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. After arriving, we took a walk along the paths between the rice fields and enjoyed breathtaking views of the Northern Alps against the sunset. The slow pace of time was soothing for us all, and our child was delighted by the experience. At the organic farm on-site, we had fun harvesting vegetables that were safe for children to handle and enjoyed making salads and having a BBQ together. At night, we marveled at the starry sky. The traditional charm of this old house has been preserved while maintaining cleanliness and comfort with modern facilities that made our stay convenient. From check-in to departure communication went smoothly without any stress at all. The female staff member was very kind and supportive of traveling with small children—making it an ideal accommodation for families wondering where they can go with little ones. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to families looking for a worry-free getaway with young children!     Three generations an...

    Three generations and four families stayed together. We had a wonderful time surrounded by the fresh air and greenery of Nagano, making it a memorable summer vacation. - Highlights: - Multiple toilets and washrooms allowed everyone to use them without overlap, even with a large group. - We harvested organic vegetables from the garden and enjoyed them during dinner. The vegetable picking became a fun activity for the kids as well. - Convenient amenities like diaper bins, high chairs, and step stools were provided. - Towels and toiletries were abundantly available in each bathroom, washroom, and Room for comfortable use without hesitation. - Areas for Improvement: - While sleeping in the Room on the first floor without shoji screens, we could hear loud footsteps and noises from the Room directly above on the second floor. - The cypress bath was lukewarm and shallow (even after setting the water heater temperature higher with maximum water volume). It had a lovely scent in such an elegant space but was slightly disappointing due to this issue.
