    The Room is very clean, making it perfect for traveling with a dog.

    We stayed for two nights at the end of February and had a relaxing time. We traveled with our elderly parents and our dog, and the Room felt very Kyoto-like—neither overly modern nor too traditional, with just the right touch of Japanese style. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator, and even the cutlery was perfect. We were also grateful for the generous complimentary drinks in the fridge (beer and cola), which almost felt too much to accept. The bathtub was extra-large for a home-style tub—big enough that it felt like a family of four could all relax comfortably. It made us so happy that such a wonderful Room is dog-friendly. We would love to stay again in a different Room next time. If I could make one request: having two toilets on each floor would make it even easier for families with small children or elderly guests to stay without hesitation. Please consider this when you expand or add new dog-friendly spaces in the future.

    Kyoto Machiya Stay Experience

    Used by three people to guide my wife's friend around Kyoto. The free parking is a great perk. The parking lot is located slightly off the main street, and the narrow access road can be confusing at first, but it becomes manageable with practice. Following the instructions in the pre-arrival email for parking will help avoid issues, though driving partially on the sidewalk was surprising. There is some distance from the parking lot to the accommodation, and navigating through narrow alleys can be tricky, so it's recommended to study a map beforehand for smooth navigation—especially for those unfamiliar with Kyoto's alleyways. The interior features two bedrooms on the first floor and a living area with kitchen and bathroom facilities on the second floor. The kitchen is well-equipped with cooking utensils, making self-catering possible—just don't forget your seasonings! Groceries can be conveniently purchased at Sanjo Shopping Street about 5 minutes away on foot; however, Fresco near Shijo-Omiya Station may be needed in the morning. Having a washing machine available is thoughtful. The spacious sofa and table provide a relaxing environment. The property has been beautifully renovated and includes underfloor heating for comfortable winter stays. While you can't expect hotel-like services here, this accommodation is ideal for traveling with pets. However, getting used to operating the electronic lock at the entrance might take time; we accidentally triggered an alarm due to incorrect operation and had to call for assistance while worrying about disturbing neighbors in this quiet residential area!

    The beautiful design provides a relaxing atmosphere.

    The stylish and clean house was incredibly relaxing. The wooden floor with carved patterns was not only beautifully designed but also comfortable to walk on for both humans and dogs. The walls, ceiling, and furniture were sophisticated, and the spacious bathroom provided a great place to unwind. The adorable traditional sweets from a renowned shop were elegant in flavor and delicious, while the coffee machine allowed us to enjoy excellent coffee. The sweets we received as part of the IKYU Diamond Member benefits were also delightful. The free parking and proximity to the gourmet Sanjo Shopping Street made it extremely convenient. It was our first time visiting this shopping street, which offered an abundance of delicious food and unique experiences. We discovered new aspects of Kyoto during our stay. It was a truly enjoyable experience—thank you very much!
